Today i have Dylan again and an assistant. They would change my ac house filter at no charge if i have the replacement. But i do it myself every 100 days . ....so its also due this week. ...I get them online now. This is a great Vendor. update later AM. : i needed two areas resealed that might weep or are weeping. And a exposed to the sun/weather insulated wire that finally is cracked and would let in water (rain). So, they offered me a choice i could do it with advice and pictures or let them go back up and finish the three items. So the new house policy is less ladder work for me , so simple decision. Handle it Dylan !! Ok Sir, we're on it.

Long and detailed, so TL;DR - Use these guys!…read more Our Carrier 4-ton A/C went out one evening recently here in southern Arizona. Not a good thing when temps on the horizon are projected to be at 100 degrees or more. I did some self-diagnosis and changed the fuses in the outdoor disconnect box, replaced the capacitor with an Amrad (US-made, high quality), and installed a new contactor - all the common failure items. No luck. I'm wise enough to know that going up in the attic was a no-go at my age, so decided it would need the services of a pro, and did I ever get one! I had previously read a glowing report on social media about an HVAC company here in the area, so after reading their Yelp reviews, I gave them a call. Kyle from Samson & Sons Heating & Cooling came out the following morning, and before beginning, we discussed (and he really listened to) the steps I had previously taken, which helped him to decide where to start, and that was the air handler in the attic. In less than five minutes he had discovered the burnt remains of electric power wires at a burnt wire nut. Thank goodness it was all contained inside a small metal connection box, where charcoal SHOULDN'T be!. Since Kyle has previously worked as a journeyman electrician, he knows how to properly make connections using wire nuts (think twist wires together first), so that problem is highly unlikely to reoccur. This HVAC failure is complements of the original DH Horton HVAC sub-contractor, which I won't mention in text. Kyle told me he knew who the installing contractor was before I told him, as he had already noticed the ALUMINUM refrigerant lines crossing the attic. I believe they're supposed to be copper, but you KNOW which is cheaper! Kyle pointed out the electrical tape wrapped around the ferruled tubing connector, supposedly to keep air from oxidizing the aluminum tubing, which (after a long time) eventually creates a refrigerant leak (think dis-similar metals). In time, everyone in our development will likely have a problem with this. And so, we again have cool air inside, accomplished at a reasonable cost. These guys KNOW THEIR STUFF, and the science behind providing a quality job! Please, Mark, remain an independent, and don't sell out to "private equity" in my lifetime! You guys are a true Tucson Treasure!

I contacted the company to get a proposal to replace my roof-top HVAC. The gentleman who came to…read morediscuss that prospect was courteous, personable and professional. I had had another proposal and knew the equipment I want (1 of 2 possibilities) and so requested quotes on both. Both quotes were significantly lower than those from the other vendor, so I accepted one. One of the reasons I sought a second proposal was that the first company had lots of reviews averaging in the 2.0-2.5 range - I don't remember exactly - primarily due to complaints about pricing and follow up service. I looked for companies with much better average reviews and found this one, which has excellent reviews virtually across the board. Installation was scheduled within a couple of weeks. The installation crew came beforehand as agreed to do some final measuring, and showed up on the agreed-upon installation date when expected. They completed the job within the time they had estimated it would take, made sure I understood how to work the thermostat, showed pictures of the installation, and cleaned up after themselves properly. I am delighted to be working with these folks and recommend them highly to anyone considering a comparable project.

I got the following email : Jay De La Riva May 4, 2026, 3:00PM (22 hours ago) to me, service Hi Lou, We would be happy to assist. Please call us at 520.867.9861 and we can coordinate a time that works best for you. We could not leave you a voicemail, we also will need your address to schedule. Thank you, Jay De La Riva Platinum Air I pretty much know this in untrue--since they are the only "people" having trouble with my voicemail. I called the number on their website. The tech on the other line seemed confused as to why I was calling and asked if I "tried the office"...I said I did and "I got you"...his response: "I am the 24 on duty tech"...I must say, kudos to them for getting such a high yelp review! It is obvious I was "taken for a ride" by their website and they are not as big as I thought--their quality is probably going to suffer over the summer...In the end, highly recommend going someplace more established. It still was impressive they were able to "fake out yelp" like they did.
