On a…read moreSaturday of February 28, I visited The Green Project, a salvage store facility in New Orleans where all items are donated. I've been a customer for over 5-years and have made many donations as well as many purchases. I intended to buy a pallet of flooring; I gave my credit card to the cashier to pay for the flooring; I made a hasty decision because I was leaving town in a few days, then I changed my mind. On Sunday, the following day the stored was closed, I made contact with one of the stores workers by the name of Jerome. I told him I decided not to buy the flooring and requested my credit card be credited back to me for the $1980. On Monday I called and asked if I needed to bring my card to the store for the 1980 refund. I spoke to the Manager by the name of Jasmine; she informed me that they don't give refunds. Of course, I thought that was ridicules because I hadn't even removed anything from the store and proceeded to call the credit card company and file a claim for the $1980 to be refunded. Credit One gave me a temporary refund, I left town a few days later, when I returned, I still didn't think there was a problem until May 6, 2026, the day my bank reversed the credit claim, and I owed my creditor $1980. Since then, I've made attempt after another trying to recover those funds and I have not been successful. At this time my credit account is past due, and I refuse to pay for something I did not receive. The Green project sold the flooring to someone else. The manager Jasmine told my creditor that I had picked up the flooring and also told them there was a large, posted sign stating, "no refund policy", but this is not true, there was no sign at all posted. The Green Project knows very well I did not pick up the flooring, and they should've simply refunded my card. Basically, this is theft.

This multiroom warehouse offers a plethora of bits and bobs from donated and gathered home improvement wares. One time I picked up an old door, an old timey facet head and some hinges. From these super economical finds, I was able to fabricate a garden gate, using the faucet as a creative spin on a traditional doorknob or latch. I love it. Recently, I eye spied, a partially used tub of tile adhesive and several random tiles. They'd be the perfect solution with someone with a tiny bathroom or counter top that needed sprucing up. You can find doors, windows, screen, light fixtures, tiles, wood, paint, and a whole host of parts that you can't pick up at any big box store. Think of the green project like a thrift store for your house or creative endeavor. Be patient and diligent, as it can be hit or miss.

Maybe I just hyped this place in my head but I thought this was THE place to go for doors. I…read morecalled and asked a few questions. Mainly about installation and the lady on the phone was snippy. Only offering a quick "no" response and saying I have to come to the showroom to look at what they have. At the showroom, the options available to see are a handful. Everything is in the catalog. The staff disorganization was obvious. I waited for the 1 free sales person and quickly found out that the door only comes primed and ready for self stain or paint... really? The idea of "custom" door is a joke because they only offer what's available in catalog and didn't work hard at all to figure out a door that would work for me. What does this place actually offer? No installation. No showroom. A catalog of products they can sell to you and shitty customer service.

After Ida I've had to replace some exterior doors due to damage and interior doors just for aesthetics/upgrades. I've had nothing but good experiences with Jefferson Door. I've primarily dealt with Wesley and have nothing but positive things to say. Dealing with big box stores is a pain and has always been a hassle. Their prices are very reasonable compared to Home Depot and Lowes. I do all my own work on my house and it nice to talk with knowledgeable people that can answer your questions to make sure you're getting what you want. Another plus was free delivery. Although I have the means to go and pick up Materials it's so much easier having them delivered. Anyway just wanted to leave a positive review amongst the negatives in case it sways someone to use them.
