The outside looked old. The lobby looked nice. Check in was easy. We were given room 101 which was right on the corner and so there were three doors that constantly slammed right by our room door as people came in and out. The vending and ice machine were right outside our door too so things were loud. I'd ask for a different room next time. There is no carpet on the first floor and our large dog is afraid of hard flooring so we had to keep his shoes on the whole time so he could get around the room and in and out to go to the bathroom. The room looked to be an accessible room. It was spacious. Though if someone uses a wheelchair, I could see some obstacles - The opening between the toilet and the sink is slim so it would be difficult to fit a chair between them. The toilet paper is hard to reach from the toilet for anyone. It's a tub so you'd need a shower chair. There is a railing in the shower. We had a king sized bed that was really very comfortable. There was a fridge and microwave and coffee pot. Some things in the room looked updated. Newish paint and floors. We liked the decor on the room walls. (See photos). The room was clean. Great water pressure in the shower. Water leaked out past the shower curtains onto the floor way too easily. The floor was soaked. The bathroom drain made weird noises on and off. Not sure if it was the shower, the sink or the pipes. The air condition worked well and helped to drown out the door slamming sound a bit. Which happened all morning long. We didn't check out the Continental breakfast because there is rarely anything we can eat at hotels. We eat healthy, plant based diets. You'd think it would be easy enough to offer sourdough bread, fresh cut fruit, dairy free oatmeal, potatoes without butter. I'd stay again if we passed through. Love that they are dog friendly.

I would stay here again! The cleaning lady is doing a great job! My room was basicly spotless! You will not have to compromise price for a clean room here! The hotel is not perfect because it is an older hotel but if you value a clean room this is the hotel for you! The breakfast was mostly cereal, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs... nothing to instagram about but definetly appreciated! So if you are trying to decide which hotel to get keep in mind this is a budget hotel, but clean and covers all the basics.

This place is right of the freeway and I must admit that I was a bit worried at first because I booked this as a 2 start hotel off priceline. I loved my stay! There is a gas station right in front if you want snacks. The parking is plentiful. The staff is just unbelievably friendly. Chad welcomed me at the front desk and was super friendly. He upgraded me to a better room and told me about the basics of the hotel. The room itself was extremely clean, spacious, and just fantastic. The bathroom was clean, shower is great, lighting sufficient, beds and pillows are very comfy. I have no complaints whatsoever and was excited after my wonderful sleep. The is complimentary breakfast in the morning with cereal and waffles. It isn't that large of a selection but I was satisfied. I met Conrad while reading breakfast and he was just an absolute pleasure. A model person and image of what all Econo Lodge employees should be like. This is a great place to stay at great price.

This hotel exceeded all my expectations. The staff was very friendly and professional. The room was spotless. Upon check-in the young lady, name started with a R, was great. She was quick and professional throughout the process. She had cookies for the guests! The next morning the breakfast attendant was great. She was friendly and ready to suggest local attractions to check out. Check this place out y'all.

A Surprisingly Cool Spot in Grand Junction…read more We decided to stay at The Melrose on a quick trip to Grand Junction--and I'm so glad we did. Everything is keyless (no front desk!), and you use your phone for entry and concierge contact. Super modern and smooth from check-in to checkout. The first night felt almost eerie... like I was the only guest! It was that quiet. I wandered around downtown, grabbed dinner, and when I came back, I started seeing a few other people. The outdoor area was a gem--relaxing by the firepit under the glow of the neon rose sign was the perfect way to unwind. Parking is conveniently located in the lot to the left of the building. It's paid, but easy to use through the app--averaging about $10 a day. By the second night, the energy picked up a bit. The bar onsite had opened--but closed before I could make it back out. Thankfully, on my final night, I caught the last 30 minutes and got to enjoy two fantastic cocktails served in these fun, festive ceramic mugs. The drinks felt handmade, and the bartenders were super friendly. Lots of guests and even locals seemed to enjoy the outdoor space with drinks in hand, which gave it a relaxed, social vibe. Inside, I stayed in a double room--huge, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, and I appreciated having a fridge and coffee pot. The only tiny hiccup: it took me a bit to locate the outlets, but once I did, all good! We're actually heading back over the 4th of July weekend and booked a smaller room this time to compare. I'm hoping we can make it back in time to enjoy the cocktail bar again--though I do wish their hours were a bit longer. It closes pretty early, and it's definitely a feature worth lingering over. All in all, The Melrose is a fun, stylish stay with a great location and one of the better vibes I've experienced at a boutique spot like this. Would definitely recommend!

PICK ANOTHER HOTEL IN GRAND JUNCTION, CO…read more================================ If I could have cancelled at the last minute I would have. We arrived late afternoon on August 2nd after driving all the way from L.A. in one day. Strike #1 - When we pull into the driveway it looked like a guy on drugs was playing on one of the parking lot security gates. The ones that raise and lower for you to go past. We told the clerk at the front desk, but we were concerned about my car after that. Strike #2 - Located right next to the Convention Center. If they have big events there it will be really loud if your room is on that side of the hotel. We could hear loud noise until late at night. Strike #3 - The hotel is dingy and really needs to be renovated. It's a step up from the one in Cherry Creek/Denver, but still bad.

Every time we stay in GJ we have stayed here in the recent times. Tried a few other properties…read morebefore and always ended up here. Fairly quiet, decent breakfast, great staff with awesome customer service. Love the location too, easy access to all the Main Street restaurants and shopping. The pool and gym were small but clean and we had an opportunity to use both this time when we stayed over the Labor Day weekend. Love the dual waffle makers and two different waffle batters as well. Overall the food was ample and tasty. Nothing super fancy but definitely checked all the breakfast items. The only thing was that this is not a newly remodeled location so some items might be a little bit worn down. The mirror in our bathroom had some rusty spots in the corners, the bottom of the door frame in the bathroom looked a little bit puffy, like the plywood had moisture damage... We stayed in a double queen and one of the beds is slightly lumpy/uneven, we got the same feedback from another couple who stayed in a king room. The linen smelled and looked clean, no hair, no dust on furniture... overall I think the cleanliness was there, just need a refresh with maybe an update/remodel order from HQ. All the employees were kind and easy to work with. We had a situation with another couple in our group where their door battery went out, they were able to open the door and provide another room in a jiffy, and helped them with a little discount due to the inconvenience where they didn't have to do that. We're grateful for the overall experience and will definitely be back again when staying in GJ next time.
