This is a first class operation - honest, professional, quality service. Bathroom drain is fixed. I can't say enough about Ed Fitzgerald, the head honcho of this outfit and Sal who actually came and got the job done. We were given Econo's number by two separate persons, an actual plumber who didn't do work in our area, as well as a friend's landlord. After some additional due diligence I called Ed and this morning - a Saturday - the job was taken care of. Ed even called to ask how everything went. Our main sewer flooded on Sunday, June 12th, with water in our bathroom and basement. Econo Sewer sent an experienced person, Bernard, within 2 hours because this was an emergency. The sewer was cleared within 30 minutes. I thought it would cost so much more because the service was performed on a Sunday, but the charge was the same as a weekday. We have called Econo Sewer for their service for at least 30 years. I remember calling another service in the past. They gave an estimate on the phone and, upon arrival, said it would cost more because of something or other which I did not understand. We used Econo Sewer to clear a bad clog in our bathtub and sink. First of all, they were available on a Sunday, with no extra charge! Orlando came and spent almost an hour clearing what was a very bad clog between the tub and sink. There were a few, what looked like scratch marks, left on the tub surface from strenuous effort he made to get to the clog. I called Ed that same day and he asked me to send photos, which I did. He assured me they weren't really scratches and could be taken up with the proper compound.The very next day he showed up to fix the surface of the tub and did restore it to pristine condition. Customer service like that is hard to come by-he could have so easily brushed me off, he had his money and it wasn't a big job. But he stood behind his work and fixed the problem within a day. Our toilet (we only have one) suddenly became clogged and overflowed, an emergency situation for obvious reasons; we contacted our regular plumber, Robert Sessa, but he was working in Staten Island all day today and couldn't make it. We've had a chronic problem with our sewer line out to the street, both in recent heavy rains and just sometimes when the washing machine drains. Another sewer service came and did a really cursory job of snaking and then hydrojetting and a quick camera inspection, from which they would not give me a video. (Always stipulate up front you want a video of the inspection.) When the problem recurred I wanted to try someone new, and my regular plumber suggested Econo Sewer. I'm so glad he did. Ed and Daniel turned up next day as agreed (a Sunday) and worked the problem until it was really solved - jetting, inspection, jetting, inspection, etc., using different jet heads to address specific problems. Ed sent me the video showing final condition right away and even called me up later to describe what he's seeing in it on further study. Really trying to solve our problem. Ed was awesome. Timely, efficient, and clean. I called him last night after spending my entire Saturday waiting for another company that didn't show. I stressed that timeliness was an issue for me, and he promised that I would be his first appointment at 9am. After giving me an appointment time, they twice called to push it back, never showed an hour and a half after they said the technician was on the way, and gave me a song and dance about if and when he would show up. Three weeks after putting down a laminate floor in the basement we found water on and under it. We called Econo Sewer and within a couple of hours a plumber showed up. He knew immediately that the problem was caused by a clog in a pipe near the main pipe leading to the city sewer system. He had to cut a hole in the wall panel and the sheetrock to fix the problem. I seriously could not give these guys a worse review. We have a tub that won't drain, we call our landlord who tells us to be at our apartment between 3-5 pm. My husband leaves work EARLY and these jokers never show up. We call our landlord who says, "Oh, well they said they were there at 5 pm and you guys weren't home." Really? We were home, waiting for them, with our phones handy. Our landlord calls back and tells us they will be there the next day at 7. Sure enough, 7 pm rolls around... no sign of these guys. I got a call at 9 pm and the person I spoke to LIES and claims that he called at 7 and that we didn't pick up. When I told him that this wasn't possible and that I didn't appreciate his dishonesty he said, "Well I don't like your tone and I see no reason for us to do business together." Beware of this company. My Bathtub wasn't going down due to buildup of hair over the years. These 2 rookies that came in had no business doing plumbing work. They broke my pipes and water was gushing everywhere. They claim the pipes were old. They used this big snake and forced it. Faced with a clogged main sewer line and a flooding basement, was referred to Econo Sewer by Petri Plumbing (the weather had them backlogged). Called and got an immediate response, they took down my info and gave me a window later in the afternoon when their tech could show. Econo called me back in a half hour saying that their tech could show earlier. The guy got there, asked me if I knew what the fee was, which I didn't and he told me the flat fee for the job which was less expensive than I thought. I had a blockage in my sewer line on Saturday, 5/4/13. I called Roto-Rooter at about 11:15 pm. They said they'll send someone within 2 hours to provide a free estimate. The dispatchers indicated they couldn't give me an estimate until the plumber checks the pipes. In 3 minutes they called to let me know they can't come until 8am - 10am on Sunday, 5/5/13. Thank God for that pause in time! I checked Yelp for reviews on Roto-Rooter and they were horrible. I discovered that Econo-Sewer had consistently good reviews. I called Econo-Sewer at 8:35am and received a call back from Ed who said someone should arrive by 10:30am. By 10:23am Mike arrived. He checked two traps, cleared the pipe going in and out the house and was done before 11:30am. He reinstalled the basement tub drain stopper that I took off on Saturday. This is a good service. I used them to clear a clogged main sewer line that others weren't able to get done. They used heavy jetters to accomplish this. This service is unreliable. I contact this company at approx. 9:45 am on 10/21/2016.. I get a call back from the Plumber at 11:30pm asking me if I needed the service. I stated yes! The plumber asked me to make sure i needed his services because he didn't want me to "waste his time". Can you believe this? The Plumber said he will be at my house within an1 hour. Since the Plumber did not arrived , I called him back at approx. 1:00 pm the Plumber said his boss sent him to another job.
