EcoPacha removed all the old junipers and other plants, planted a combination of natives and succulents (with a nice variety of colors) and added crushed rock cover. We had the build a small patio. They used poor quality metal railing cable wire system that is rusting- what no dip in zinc bath to prevent? Probably a few hundred $ to fix that problem but how does it not occur to them? The wood surround finish was rough and got worse over time. The joints were tight and now they have expanded and the surround looks pretty unprofessional. The worst is that the drainage changed after they installed patio so now am getting water under my house which I didn't before they did the project- so now I have a major repair. They might give you a low bid but they cut the wrong corners and are non responsive and in any case I wouldn't have them back because they do shoddy work. Beware! read more

We only had one snag during the project when part of it was installed the wrong direction (removing one star for that), but they fixed it quickly the next day without any hassles. I had the pleasure of working with the Ecopacha team for a big project at my non-profit building in Berkeley, and highly recommend them for any job! They came to do a site visit and provided us with a comprehensive and affordable estimate at no cost. Our project was a large one, and included a ton of ivy removal from our fence and around the entire building, majorly trimming and cleaning up our trees & hedges, extensive weeding and removing an inch of top-soil to lay anti-weed fabric and gravel so our weeds would not grow back, as well as all of the cleaning and hauling of debris, and they did it all in one day. Carlos and Gisela did such a great job with our little project. Gisela was spot on with scheduling and Carlos and his helper cranked out the irrigation install in FAR less time than i would have thought. Furthermore, we didnt actually lay in the sod for 30 days after the irrigation install but Carlos came back and replaced half of the sprinklers that it turns out were too short for the install we finally did on the sod (on our own). No questions, just did it and made it work. Plus they were always polite and respectful. A total joy. I am so thankful to Humberto and his partner while writing this review. Let's say the last week has been terrible and very dismal. My irrigation system sprung a leak, and my insurance came out and said, "it's not cover". They wouldn't refund my money. I called 8 different companies. Two companies cancelled on me on the day of service. Another was on "vacation" until after the weekend. They didn't bother to call back on Monday. Anyhow I kept trying and got Humberto who said he is in the Pinole area and schedule me 5-6 pm appt. following day. I was in luck!!! Then that day he called and ask if he can swing by early to examine the damage before going to his current project. $$I hit the jackpot$$ of course, please come by. Told me they can fix it half the cost of what the other one quoted me over the phone. Let's say after 2 weeks of being washed out physically- " The sun was in my favor." Serious, I'm so grateful. We needed their monthly gardening service because of our oak trees hugged house in our steeply terraced yard (and I know you're nodding if you have oak trees too, oh so much debris) and they did a fantastic job. We really wanted to like this company beacuse of their sustainable practices but unfortunately we had a bad experience with EcoPacha. First they came to give us an estimate and said they were going to start working in my backyard next day but they never arrived. They finally showed up three or four days after, and never communicated it. This communication problems continued till they finished the work 2 days after. The last day they added the irrigation system but left everything disorganized and it seemed they did it in a rush, so my husband and I had to organize everything. Along that we found two used face mask trowed in the backyard which is concerning due to the present sitation. Now the grass they planted is dying even though we don't even walk on it. They made me feel like our money is worthless. Now we have to find a new company to fix it again. This is so frustrating. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone again. read more
