I received and have receipts for services on: June 19, 2025 July 21, 2025 October 7, 2025 January 16, 2026 The January service was especially frustrating--I specifically requested that it be postponed due to over a foot of snow on the ground, but the service was performed anyway, raising serious concerns about effectiveness. After canceling, I was told I only completed "2 out of 5 services" and was charged a $250 early termination fee. This directly contradicts both my records and what I was told when I signed up. At best, this is disorganized and misleading. At worst, it feels like an attempt to justify fees with inaccurate information. I've requested a copy of the signed agreement and full service records and am currently disputing the charge. I want to start with the good; every agent we had with our local Detroit office was amazing, thorough and lovely and great with the pets. And the bi-monthly pest service itself seemed to work perfectly. It was NOT worth the 6-months long ordeal I went through dealing with their customer care team and billing. We agreed to have them do an exclusion service and an insulation service last fall, since we trusted them. It was expensive, so we secured financing. Upon the exclusion service being initially completed, we were told to hold on releasing the financing funds until insulation was also complete. And that's where things turned into a mess. For the next few months, agents kept finding signs of pest life in our house post-exclusion, fixing holes/other areas, and then coming back every other week. The insulation service kept getting pushed until no signs of life were found (this was genuinely fine with us, we really appreciated the thoroughness), and financing expired. And so even after being assured MULTIPLE times by customer service that there would be notes in our file about the balance not being due, they sent our balance to a collections agency. I called EcoShield very upset, and they apologized and said it would be taken care of. And then I didn't hear from them again for 2 months, so I called...and was told our account was shut down for non-payment. They apologized and reinstated it, but at that point said we had 0 balance since the balance was with collections. I called the collections agency and they said they had no balance due for me. At this point, I was reasonably sure that I could have just...not paid anyone and never been caught, but we weren't trying to evade payment or deal with this years down the line, so I did the responsible thing. I called EcoShield again (this was hours of calls over months) and was told I had no balance, but this time I asked to be transferred to accounts receivable, where they demanded to know if I was ready to pay my balance. In the midst of all this over the months, I emailed their customer care email twice and got no reply ever. We ended up settling the debt outright-but we are never using this company for a single service again. I've never been so frustrated with a service before in my life. read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would. A sweet boy was walking around my neighborhood in the dog days of summer talking about healthy Pest Control. I am all about saving the bees and do not want to kill pollinator since I do plant pollinating perennials in my yard. I was enticed by the thought of possibly keeping ticks away from my pet. I have paid $70 each treatment in the past for a different pest Control, but didn't feel good in my heart about using the poison in our unstable environment. Everything the boy was saying sounded good. He lowered my price and said he would come back for free to spray. I was bamboozled and signed an iPad contract. The next time he came out, I was charged again. I still saw bugs in my house, spiders and such. I did not see the value in the service nor did I think it was ethical to mislead the contract. My account is being sent over to collections. I want nothing more to do with this service. All I wanted to do was cancel. Ecoshield did not want to hear anything about it. Moreover, they are very focused on scheduling service even if such is inconvenient. There's no easy way to push service out for 3-weeks, for example. The techs have been good- thorough and friendly. I hired EcoShield for their mosquito service. Five days after the service was completed I still had heavy mosquitoes. We could not sit on our back deck. I messaged them and they said to wait a few more days. I asked them to clarify how many days it takes to work when it only lasts for 21 days. They sent another tech out to spray again. Four days later we still have mosquitoes. I can contacted the company and let them know that we still have mosquitoes and I would like to cancel my service because the product does not work. I also asked for a refund. They said they do not give refunds. The product does not work. They have 100% guarantee, but I guess that only applies in certain situations. While this company may provide a useful service to a small number of people, their business practice is unethical, if not criminal. At minimum, their approach to getting new customers relies on high pressure tactics, deception and instilling fear. My mother who is 93 years old and suffers from cognitive decline was sold a treatment/contract in 2024. Despite the efforts made by my family we were unable to get any of her money back. Guess what, they sent one of their sales representatives to her door again this May 2 of 2025 (same exact day of the month as last year) and sold her the exact same "treatment". This, even though my mom already has a pest control service with a local company and the record of verbal correspondence that the company has from last year according to their call center It's hopeless to reach the supposed franchise (in this case in Livonia, MI) to speak with anyone about who signed her up and who provided the supposed service. What legitimate company doesn't have a receptionist, secretary, hell, even an answering machine? Instead, the "local" number simply links the caller to a call center in the Philippines with the exact same phone prompts and choices as listed on their website. You will never reach an employee with authority to amend, cancel or refund. Instead, the caller is repeatedly put on hold. When asked for the name of the franchisee, their local number or email, the caller is given the same call center number. Really!!? Want a copy of the contract or evidence that service was rendered. Forget it!! We were told the treatment was non-refundable because the service was provided at the same time as the sale. This, even though her neighbors said the salesperson was constantly on the move from house to house. What sort of treatment can be done in five minutes that merits a $179.00 charge to her credit card? The salesperson was so inept, he came back a few days later and tried a second "aggressive sale" (her neighbor's words) to the next-door neighbor. Any fair and honest company need not use this approach. Instead, good businesses rely on word of mouth and positive reviews. I encourage anyone considering this company to do their research and look at then HUGE litany of complaints on sites like Yelp, Google, The Better Business Bureau, etc. You reap what you sow! I would also encourage others who have a similar experience to contact your state Attorney General's office and file a complaint. The representatives of this organization are extremely shady. Yesterday, they had a guy going through our neighborhood in Canton, MI. He wasn't going up and talking to people at their doors. He would stand in the yard and mess with your grass until someone came out and asked him what he was doing. Even though many yards were marked from recent treatments, he stood in them and started messing with the yard. In several cases, he bend down and supposedly "grabbed" an ant and then tried to show the home owners they had ants in their yard and tried to push his treatment on them. Multiple people in the neighborhood reported him to the neighborhood watch, warned everyone on the community Facebook, and are discussing police reports in case he infested their lawns with someone. Common courtesy and respect for someone's home is to stay off the grass and use the sidewalks, knock on the door, and explain why you are on their property. This guy, probably out of the Wixom office, since it is closest to Canton, was shady, snarky, rude, and made multiple home owners feel unsafe. With this being the representatives they are sending out into the community, I am terrified to know what the ones doing the work do to your yard or house. Great customer service starts with respect and this organization has zero respect for the home owner and their property. read more

You could stop your door to door sales pitches to my son while I was sick with Lyme disease. The first two treatments this year, at the end of April and beginning of May, were supposed to last for three months, but my bank account shows they charged me three weeks later for two more treatments I never authorized. So far, I've been charged four times for $209 (pest control) $79 (tick control), and another $209 and $79 three weeks later, which I don't don't believe they did, because I've been disabled and have been home. I have tried to contact them, and so has my son, but I have yet to receive a call back! I have never had so many insects in my yards as this year, in the past five years I've lived here. I had another non-toxic company spray once a month and never saw a bug! But now, ants are swarming everywhere, under every stone, crawling up my arms and legs, and are biting! My granddaughter could not even make a fairy garden because of ants everywhere. There are also millions of mites, slugs, earwigs, termites, spiders, and gnats, etc. Lyme can come from ANY biting insect; not just ticks! I don't want to ruin the environment, and I want the bees, but I contracted Lyme here at this house, and that's why I had it sprayed! I also have a small dog whom I don't want to get bitten either. Plenty of dogs get Lyme! They also killed a frog that lived behind a storage box. By the way, I could show you the exact same pictures as others that were posted, and much more! read more

They say their sales people are trained to communicate clearly the terms of the contract and cancellation. What a joke and what a lie. No contract no commitment . He had me initial a couple things on his phone which I was very stupid and didn't look at. In West Bloomfield, a permit is required in order to solicit. In addition, there is a No Soliciting list that residents can sign up on and that is then given to the company doing the soliciting. I do not know if they legally obtained a permit but, despite being on the list AND having a sign RIGHT ON MY DOOR that says No Soliciting they still rang the bell AFTER looking directly at it and had the audacity to say they didn't read it. They also name dropped a neighbor whom I went to immediately after. That neighbor was NOT home and their partner advised NO ONE had been to see them that day. This is NOT an isolated incident. After reporting it on Nextdoor, several neighbors reported their employees either not taking no for an answer or even going so far as to go into the backyard and asking the children there to "get their mom." If your employees can't show basic courtesy, follow explicit instructions, and/or READ then, no. I do not want your services and will go so far as to leave reviews as to the lack of professionalism because you pissed me off that much. read more
