I took my Jeep Renegade here while it was under factory warranty for a faulty panoramic moonroof and was told multiple times that nothing was wrong and it just needed to be lubricated every oil change which for my driving habits I travel for work and do about 5k a month or one oil change every four weeks. That said it was in the shop here under factory warranty and I was charged for the lubricant each time even though it's not a service item that calls for that. Not to mention multiple other occasions I had to drop my car off and was only provided a loaner car on my 7th visit and then when I commented about the lack of quality Rob stated I didn't buy that nice of a Jeep model so I shouldn't expect quality or anything of the sort. I got a coupon for $75 off of any service. I had 2 issues, one was a check engine light and the other was a window that would not roll up. 1. They let me know the check engine light would be $200 to read, don't like it, feel that it is a rip-off, but it is the standard charged by almost all shops. Turns out there was nothing wrong with my car, but it needed a software update. Got charged a total of $300 because I needed a software update. Yes, a little salty about that but I can live with it. 2. The window would not roll up. They discovered that things just got off track and they would need to take it apart and just put it back together to fix. Might be 3 hours at $200/hr. A bit steep, but fine I have it here and I have work I need to get back to. Well, I had gotten there at 11am and needed to grab lunch a little after noon, so I let them know in case they were looking for me. I was told no problem as the tech working on my window was at lunch. It got done close to 2, so yes it was about three hours. I was in a hurry and paid. After thinking about it, I realized they did indeed charge me for three hours of work, but apparently work also included the techs lunch time. Now looking back, I realized that they were just looking for ways to dig every last dime they could out of me and really did not care about taking care of the customer. After this experience, I do not think I would recommend this shop or nor will I be going back. read more

Note: This review is strictly for the collision repair not the actual dealership. My partners truck was involved in an accident, November 30, 2023. When the claim was called in, the insurance company said you can pick your own repair place or go with theirs. Well, we decided to go to the dealership because this is where he brought the truck from. While we do not live in Anderson, he did buy the truck from there and it's the dealership so of course we know they will have all the parts, and know everything about the vehicle better than any other repair place that doesn't specialize in Dodge Ram trucks, right? Well not so much and I'll explain what happened. We should have known things wouldn't go well because when we called to set an appointment the phone rings, a young lady answers the phone very dry no professional customer service at all. we ask for the collision department and she just transfers. No hold please, no sure let me transfer you, none of that just click transfer. It struck me as odd because when I have dealt with dealerships in the past, they are very friendly and personable as you are kind of the voice of the dealership but we move on. We were able to get the truck in right away for an assessment. They weren't able to pick the vehicle up, but we used AAA to get it to them. No problems there. They called the next day giving us what the damage was and indicated they would submit to the insurance. Good. Okay, all is well. Once approved by the insurance, this is where things go downhill. There was zero communication with us during this time. It was always us reaching out and when we did, they would say things like, we have been waiting for the insurance company to approve xyzzy. When we asked how long they were waiting they would say a couple of days, a week, two weeks etc. Meaning, they weren't ordering parts, they weren't working on the truck they were literally doing nothing while they were waiting to hear back. One would think, you wait maybe 48 hours and if you don't hear anything perhaps you call the owner of the car so they can call the insurance company and get things moving as opposed to doing nothing and not even letting us know. There was a lot of that and because of it they had the truck for months. When we got it back, we drove it and it was making obvious noise. Like you let us pick up the truck and didn't even test drive it to ensure it sounded okay? I really just don't understand how that is a thing. So we called and asked if someone test drove it before they called to let us know it was ready. They said no. No? Geesh so we had to take it back yet again. The car sat and sat and sat because once again they were waiting for insurance to approve. They didn't let us know that the insurance wasn't approving it because the insurance felt they should have been able to fix it with the money they approved in the first place. The adjuster indicated he would need to come out and look at the car to understand why they are asking for more money yet again. He knew based on the damage they should have been able to fix the truck with the approved amount. Once the adjuster came to look what he discovered is that they were charging for new parts but using old parts. He said that once your car is certain years old, they are to use old parts because the car is older not new, but they were spending money buying new parts but not putting the new parts on.... After months and months and months of dealing with this, we finally have the truck back. It's not 100% but we have it and will not be taking it back there. What I will say is management tried to make it right even offering to give us money to take it somewhere else after understanding our frustration. I give them props for that. The lesson in this is, take your car to the place your insurance suggests the dealership is not always the best. read more

Ed Martin dealerships may be the worst. I drove 40 miles to see a car they had listed online. I tried to call to verify the car was still available. Their phone was not working. A multi-million dollar operation, and phone doesn't work? I arrived there 30 minutes before closing and was told the car had been sold. Once again, a multi-million dollar operation doesn't have an IT staff to keep the website updated? In all honesty, I worked for Ed Martin in Carmel for about 4 months like 13 years ago. I left the business because it is shady as hell. I have a pretty good idea how much the company is making. Spend some money on the customer relations portion guys. These owners spend money on race car teams and not a care for keeping customers happy. A dollar spent on tech and client care will pay back $20 in sales everytime. read more

We went to Ed Martin Chrysler to buy a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. We'd never owned a Chrysler product before, and were new to their style of key fob. We were given one, which was chipped off at the top and had an exposed microchip. We were told at the time, "It's fine, and it works, so you're okay. Also, that valet key can be used to start the van, so you're fine." The valet key does not start the van. It opens the door, and that's it. Less than 10 days after taking delivery, we were at my daughter's school for a function when the van decided the key fob wasn't fine and completely stopped working. We were stranded, it was getting dark, and my children were worried. We had to hitch a ride home with the neighbors, and my wife was horribly depressed that we had bought a lemon. I had a very, very animated discussion with Ed Martin Chrysler, who told me they would send a tow truck to get the van, and also provide my family with a loaner (which they did.) The next day, they called to say the key had been replaced, and that they had two brand new ones waiting for us. I drove the loaner back and dropped it off, and waited to get the bill. They handed me an invoice for $600 to show the work done and then said, "No charge." I've had a lot of bad dealings with car dealerships. I also used to sell for a dealership on the west side of Indianapolis. I've seen a lot of dirty tactics, and I'll admit, I thought that's what had happened here at first. It felt like a bait and switch, but the dealership stepped up and did right by me and my family. We had transport, they fixed the broken key they gave us, and added one more for our trouble. They made a potentially horrible experience into one that made us consider them for our future auto needs. More than that, it was an act that deserved a public write-up. I can't speak for the other dealerships in the Ed Martin family, but the manager at the Chrysler dealership in Anderson stood by his product and did right by us, and that was wonderful to experience. read more

I bought a 2011 Honda Pilot from them last Thursday that I'd been scouting on line. Started the pre-approval for my credit Thursday morning, had about 3 phone conversations with James Brooks in regards to the vehicle. Everything sounded good, so I went up there to test drive the car. Mr. Brooks had the car detailed and the tank filled and ready. I test drove it, noticed a ding in the windshield that had started to crack. Came back, they agreed to have the windshield replaced and we made the deal. I was in and out of the dealership in about 1 hour with a fine automobile to show for my efforts. The auto body place just finished replacing my windshield in front of my office. Just bought a new 300C and Ed Martin gave me $3,500 more than Kelley's Blue book trade for my 300 which is actually a tool for dealers to give you minimum dollars for your car. Other dealers who stay on the book value which is only a sample of what dealers paid wholesale at auction. Last November bought a Journey from Ed Martin and they gave me $1000.00 more than dealers I contacted in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan or Missouri for my trade. Due to my busy schedule I shop on line and make my deals on line with a vin number and several well taken pictures of my trade. Knowing what I want for my car the negotiation process begins. Once I am close enough then make any appointment and finish the negotiations. Saves me a ton of time dealing with dealers who keep you in there shell game for hours. You would be surprised how many dealers refuse to even talk with you until you arrive at the dealership. Jeremy Greer a salesman at Ed Martin whom I bought my last two cars from negotiated the deal via text and email. I drove to the dealer test drove the car and about 15 minutes later signed the papers on our new car. Less than a hour I was driving home with our new car. I would NEVER recommend this dealership! I will try to be as calm and professional as i can and leave names out of it. I usually don't write reviews but have wrote a couple good reviews in the past when i feel they are earned and have never taken the time to ever write a negative review so this is a first. I am an internet customer that purchased a used Ram 2500 truck from Ed Martin. To make a long story short... I call ahead of time and asked all the right questions! I got all the details before buying the vehicle! I was told 3 to 5 days to ship to me. Took over 3 weeks. Whatever... it happens right? So then when it was finally delivered it had body and paint damage in which I had asked about before hand and was told it was in great shape. Has a dent in the hood with two large scratches going up the hood and a dent in the tailgate. Figured this would be mentioned? Not a huge deal but very disappointing. At this point I was just happy to have the truck finally. The truck was also Chrysler Certified Pre-owned so it had extended power train warranty and a 3 month 3000 mile maximum care warranty. Tried the remote start and it didn't work. Less than 48 hours and it had a check engine light. Called my salesman and a service guy at Ed Martin and they told me it was warrantied through another company and gave me a 1-800 number to call to see if those items were even under warranty. I spent a week trying to get this warranty thing figured out and took it to my local dealership who did the work. we could not get Ed Martin to send the paperwork to the warranty company it was supposedly warrantied through so I paid $225 out of pocket to get it fixed. Called them back the next day and no one I had been dealing with was at the dealer so I talked to another guy that had it all figured out in less than 30 min. He said it was all through Chrysler warranty and the other guys were telling me completely false info! I am not saying that they were telling me false info on purpose but it was wrong none the less. That was last Friday. Today is Monday and I have called multiple times and left messages with different people to see if they will make this right by me and no one will get back to me! I am very disappointed and disgusted that I cant even get the respect that a paying customer deserves! I feel absolutely cheated in the fact that I cant even trust a "reputable" Dodge, Chrysler, and Ram dealer such as Ed Martin to HONOR everything that was agreed upon in the deal prior to even buying this vehicle from them! So in a short recap these are the things that led to a very bad experience with this dealership... - Shipping times were completely too long even tho I had given them all the info ahead of time and prepaid for the shipping and was given a time frame. - Lack of communication! Its very difficult to get anyone to call you back! -Got the vehicle and it had issues right away even though it went through a "125 point inspection" to become Chrysler Certified Pre-owned. -Had slight paint and body damage even tho I specifically asked prior to buying -Had been misled on my warranty info! -Had to pay out of pocket for repairs to the vehicle I have owned less than a week! I will say that I do indeed love my new truck. I am just very upset with the dealership I bought it from. Feel very much like they got the money and they washed their hands of any obligations and promises made while making the deal. I came in for service to get an oil change for my vehicle. During the call, I was asked if anything else needed looked at, which I replied that I had a sound in the front end that I wanted someone to take a look at. I was told after review that it was a mechanical issue in the front end, but after being quoted a price, I decided to not do the service at that time. I was told there was a "diagnostic fee" added to my service, but not told the amount. Much to my amazement, the additional "diagnostic fee" was $120! This was a mechanical issue, that likely took 10 minutes to diagnose! Buyer Beware that if they ask to look at any other things on your vehicle, you'll be paying dearly for it. There are other options out there of service locations that are more into helping their customers that will do vehicles checks for little additional expense and sometimes free. I will be going to those locations from now on for my vehicle work. read more

First off I made my appointment for new front brakes @3:30. The morning of my appointment I received a call telling me I can't have the appointment and I would have to come in @2:30 or wait until Saturday because it wasn't enough time to fix the brakes because the garage closes @5:00. Why was I able to make the appointment @3:30 in the first place if the service department already knew that it would take longer? This change put me in an awkward position with my work and my boss because I had already asked to leave early for my 3:30 original appointment and then I had to go back and ask for more time to leave early to make the 2:30 time. Secondly, when I arrived I was mistaken for a different customer that also had a 2:30 appointment, an honest mistake but nevertheless not what a certified dealership and maintenance facility should be especially after telling me I have to move my appointment. I brought my car in and the mechanic advisor inspected it before coming back and giving me an appraisal. He gave me an appraisal of roughly $250 for my new brakes. I wait in the lobby for an hour and a half before he comes back to tell me that my front roaters are shot and need replaced. He says the mechanic said they are too far gone for continued use, leading me to believe that they wouldn't let me leave the shop without having them replaced. This is something that could have been checked before the car was even being worked on by turning the tires and inspecting the roaters before any work would be done, but instead I was blindsided. Another hour goes by and I get a bill of $420 when I was quoted for $250. I understand this is the cost of the roaters being added, but after 2 and a half hours of waited something should have been done because there is no way it takes that long to change roaters and brakes. I received the free car wash, which didn't remove much. I get into my car to leave and my brake pedal goes half way to the floor before the car begins to stop fully indicating that the mechanic did not bleed my brakes properly. To top it all off they didn't even check my tire pressure and add more air because by the time I got home my tire pressure indicator came on saying it was low. I am totally applauded by the service I have received at this dealership. I will never recommend this dealership to anyone and something must be done about the experience I have had at Ed Martin in Anderson Indiana. read more

Don't do your loan there. If you need to finance, shop around yourself and have picked out before picking out a vehicle. 1) you will get a better rate, 2) you will know the fees involved. We purchased a Jeep and I was going to finance part of the amount. As we were reviewing the documents, it listed a $195 "loan fee" (on top of the $175 dealer fee). We asked about it and he clearly stated, "there is a loan fee but don't worry, we take if off here at the bottom as a credit, you do not pay that". At the bottom of the document it states "amount financed" and it indeed has the $195 removed. But, when we got our payment book from the bank (TCU) it had the $195 added back in. Still trying to get it resolved with TCU. If it was a really great rate, that would be one thing, but this was higher than other local banks. The slimy feel from this transaction will send me elsewhere next time. read more
