For me, everyone starts out with 5 stars. Today my wife's MDX started cutting in and out and she mananged to get it off the highway before it quit altogether, right in front of Tom Wood Honda. She called me, in Michigan ,and I had her look under the hood. Sure enough, the battery ground cable had come loose. She walked over to ask for help, or to borrow a tool. She was denied. She was mansplained to about insurance, and offered no solution other than to call a tow truck to tow it 300 feet, and then to wait in line for their service queue, so that they could run a "diagnostic" and see how to proceed. All to tighten a battery cable. I am only 51, but I have to ask, where have all the men gone? She hit it with her purse (a can of coconut milk) and will be able to get down the road to buy the tools she needs. Way to go guys! I purchased a 2015 VW Passat from Tom Wood Honda on April 7. After buying the car, I had it inspected at the VW dealership in Noblesville, where they found the timing chain was off and needed to be replaced. There were no oil leaks at that time. Tom Wood Honda agreed to replace the timing chain components. But ever since they started the repairs, the car has been leaking oil. I've brought it back four times, and the issue still isn't fixed. I requested that they send it to the VW dealership, but they refused and insisted they'd continue to handle the repair in-house. Now, there's a new oil leak coming from the turbo area, which wasn't an issue when I purchased the car. This entire experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I bought a car I thought was reliable -- instead, it's been in the shop more than on the road. At this point, I just want to return the vehicle and get my money back. I can't recommend Tom Wood Honda based on this experience. read more

Approximately four months ago, I visited Tom Wood Honda and purchased a used vehicle. The salesman informed me that the suspension was not functioning properly and that it was supposed to be repaired. When I collected the vehicle, I inquired if the suspension had been fixed, to which he assured me it had. However, upon driving it, I quickly realized that the issue had not been resolved. I returned the vehicle to them, and they claimed that the right front axle was the problem and assured me they would fix it. They stated that the repairs had been completed, and when I requested documentation, they promised to email it to me. After leaving, I drove the vehicle a bit more and noticed it still did not feel right. They advised me to bring it back, and upon inspection, they determined that the rear struts were malfunctioning and assured me they would repair them. They did fix the struts and provided me with paperwork for that repair. Meanwhile, the vehicle began leaking oil, and we informed them of this issue, requesting that they address it. We suggested that they cover at least half of the repair costs since it was a significant problem that we were unaware of at the time of purchase. They declined our request, stating that we would be responsible for the repairs. Consequently, we proceeded to fix the oil leak, which cost over $600 for a new oil pan and the necessary caps. After receiving the vehicle back, it continued to leak oil, prompting me to notify them again. They then indicated that the leak was originating from the camshaft and assured me they would fix it. They completed that repair, but before I picked up the vehicle, they informed me of additional oil leaks around the transmission and engine. They charged me another $600 to address the camshaft leak, and I requested that they hold off on the repairs around the engine and transmission until they could provide an estimate for those costs. After receiving the vehicle back, I realized I needed to take it to another shop due to the ongoing leaks. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager regarding the numerous issues I was facing with repairs, especially considering I had only driven the vehicle for approximately 50 miles. I took my vehicle to Dave's Auto in Anderson after being told by another shop that everything was fixed. To my surprise, Dave pointed out that the oil pan needed to be replaced and that there were caps missing, causing oil to leak everywhere. I mentioned that the previous shopTom Wood Anderson had assured me they had already taken care of that, along with the right axle, which also turned out to need repair. Dave confirmed that whoever worked on it before had clearly not done their job. I decided to let Dave handle the repairs, but that ended up costing me an additional thousand dollars for issues that were supposedly addressed. Now, I'm out that money, having to pay for repairs that should have been done right in the first place. My advice to anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Tom Wood Anderson is to think carefully about going for a used car. They don't seem to properly service them or check them over before selling. Unless you're looking at a certified or new vehicle, I wouldn't recommend it. They prioritize sales over the quality of the cars, and the issues keep getting sent back without being fixed properly. It's also disheartening to hear from Dave's shop that they've received numerous complaints about the previous shop not doing a good job with repairs. I hope this message serves as a warning for anyone thinking about getting a car--consider it twice if you want something reliable. I really wish Tom Wood Anderson would step forward and offer to reimburse me for the money I've lost due to their oversights. I never received a return call from Jason. On Friday, Match 14th, I missed a call from a new number, at 10:16AM. I called back immediately. It was John, Parts Manager for Honda OEM Discount Parts dot com. He said that it was the first he was hearing of this mess. He assured me that my torsion rods were shipped. I told him that I had all the photographic evidence to prove that they weren't. We agreed to disagree, but he said he would issue the credit for the whole order. I told him that I would post that info once I saw the PayPal credit on my card. The credit showed up late Friday morning, along with emails from them and PayPal, saying the case was closed in my favor. I would have posted this update on Friday, but the credit disappeared, shortly after I saw it. It showed up again today, Tuesday, March18th, so they no longer owe me anything. My lesson learned: Check your local Honda dealerships first. Best to interact with a human. read more

BUYER BEWARE AT THIS CAR DELAERSHIP. Make sure to read every line of charges so they don't slide in items you don't want and specifically declined. Was sold a theft warranty for $289 I was told it was required by finance company but once I contacted the finance company I was told they did not require this. I also found they put a $999 fee for a ceramic coating this vehicle doesn't have. ( pour water on vehicle and water does not beed up and run off as a ceramic coating does water doesn't beed up as a ceramic coating does) I wasn't told the vehicle has that on it which I think if it did they would announce it and be proud they offer such service instead don't bring it up and hope consumer doesn't catch the charges read more

Just go to a different Honda dealership. Penske isn't that far away. This place has terrible customer service and service department. I unfortunately was forced to deal with them because my warranty would only cover the repairs from the dealership. The manager, Dameon, never returned my calls, he always had someone else call me back. Seems like a coward. Took my car in for a repair, it sat their first 5 days and I'm convinced they fixed nothing. I have the same issues. My repair had to be dealt with warranty they couldn't get my car in for 10 days. This should have been an emergency repair, I should not have been out of a vehicle for a warranty problem for this long. Honda told us they made a rental reservation at Sixt Rental. I told them I didn't have transportation to the rental and they told me to Uber...and when I finally got a manager on the phone they finally offered me a ride. I get a ride to Sixt rental. They tell me they don't have anything available and the reservations from the dealership don't actually reserve your car. So then I have to get an Uber to Avis. The people that work here don't care. They just come into work and collect a check. This is my third Honda from this dealership and it will be the last. *** response to Brianna's comment. This has nothing to do with the warranty, if you read the review it says I was forced to use this dealership because of the warranty. My complaint it how Tom Wood dealt with the service. They didn't fix my car even though they claimed they did. I ended up going to Penske Honda from approval through the warranty. Penske says Tom wood left debris in my wheel barring. Service manager Dennis hasn't returned any of my calls and he also lied the BBB. The managers aren't accountable, they say one thing and do another. Purchased vehicle 5/21/23 - Flat tire 5/22- Spare does not fit vehicle. Left Stranded. February they put in a new motor. Did not replace motor mounts, which were bad. Had vehicle from 5/30/23-6/15/23 - Replaced Struts, Motor mounts, completed alignment - They had my vehicle for 2 weeks and I had to be the the one to reach out for updates, drove by and the car had not even moved. 6/17/23 Transmission lights came on, stranded on interstate again would not shift past 2nd gear.- I was advised this was "safe to drive" -6/23/23- Took to Ed Martin where they stated no alignment had been complete. Ed Martin was able to complete for $794 an eva cylinder, and a wheel bearing replacement as the one I had was completely broken (Was sold this way) -- Also received call from "Jason" at Tom Wood stating they would "try to find me some wheels". They will not return calls in a timely manner, nor have they taken any corrective issues to get my vehicle into a roadworthy status, or to get me into a different vehicle that is reliable. Moving forward: 8/16/23, Jeep is sitting with Ed Martin as the car will not even start. I have dropped $800 into this vehicle out of pocket Filed complaint with BBB, however they are not accredited and did not respond. They are basically telling me I'm stuck paying for all of the internal issues that are not "seen" during a test drive I regret not looking at reviews for this place before spending my money there... read more

Even though I bought my car here, I don't generally get service here because there is a Honda dealership 20mins closer to me. However, they sent some coupons in the mail that we're worth driving the extra 20 minutes. I didn't make an appointment but they were able to fit me in quickly since I decided to wait (I went prepared with work) in their lounge area with free WiFi. A few problems with this place. #1 went to look at cars last September and they had one that had just came in as a trade in. We were offered to look at it without it being inspected or cleaned. #2 test drove the car I ended up getting and asked why the road noise was so loud and if the tires were ok. They said yes. Now I'm setting at a tire place getting all 4 new tires and an alignment. Pictures attached. Not to mention there were cuts in the tire I chatted online with a costumer service representative about what they could do for me. Mind you I only put 5,000 miles on the car sense I bought it. Should not need new tires by now!! They said they would let the dealership know and someone would email me. Which I knew this was never going to happen. Then my husband texted the salesman and he said he would check but probably can't do anything about it sense it had been over a week. Next step, my husband sent an email... No response.. go figure. I was not asking for money back or for them to put on new tires. Just wanted someone to acknowledge that they were bad. So my advice is beware of what you buy here.. pretty much sounds like auction cars and they don't check them out!! read more

When I found a car that I liked, at a price that I liked, I never expected it to be out in the boondocks. This location is not in the typical Auto mall superplex. It's beautiful, but not around much. Does that matter, no. You go here to buy a car, not go out on the town. The staff are like a family and have known each other for years. It's a warm and inviting place. They are relaxed and willing to work with you for the entire process. They even offered to drive the car I wanted to see to Indy. I did not do that because I would have dealt with someone else. The relationship I built here was worth the drive out. They answered my questions and walked me through my concerns. We left with the car and both of us were happy. I may have been a tiny bit happier, though. :) Shout out to Aaron C. for being with us since the beginning and moving Earth to make us happy. My mother took her 2018 Honda Hrv with 60,000 miles on it in due to transmission going out while going to Michigan. They had the vehicle for 3 week, and when she got it back and all of here abs lights were on. they tried to tell her she needed a wheel bearing and tire. I pulled the cv shaft out and seen where it had hit against the magnetic encoder on the wheel bearing when they either removed or installed the cv axle during the transmission replacement. The magnetic encoder ring had about a 1/4 inch section knocked off. Which is not a big deal and a honest mistake. They refused any fault in it and tried to imply I did it when looking at it. which does explain how it did not have a single light on, before it went in and now it's lit up like a Christmas tree. Then said they had no records of the lights. Which I find weird because they would have scanned it to find the transmission codes. They would have seen it had abs codes and the 4 other codes on due to the encoder ring being bad. I mean my mother is 78 years old, all she wanted was her car fixed correctly, but instead she had to replace 2 tires and a wheel bearing. Your offer to make her pay half (320 dollars) of the 640 dollar repair to fix your mess up. Well it can go straight where the sun don't shine. Also the tire looked like it had been ran into something, not curbed. Could not prove that damage was done there or on the tow truck. the wheel bearing on the other hand, had no issues before it got there. Don't worry Tom Wood I'll fix your in ability to stand by your work. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. read more

I wanted a specific Honda CR-V and I looked for it at many Honda dealerships -- at least five in my area. No one had it available, so it needed to be ordered. Tom Wood gave me the best out-the-door price. By far the best. So I waited patiently, yet continued to search. No one ever beat the Tom Wood price, and in the end, the car came in perfectly as I wanted it to be, just when I needed it. I waited about a month and it was absolutely worth it. Maybe I got lucky, but honestly, I couldn't be happier with my car and the price I paid for it. I would shop here again and I would recommend Tom Wood to friends and family. Our sales agent at Tom Wood, Chris Nigh, was attentive, on our side, professional, friendly, and didn't really feel like a salesman. This was just a really smooth buying experience. I get it that sometimes businesses mess up, but when you do mess up it is an opportunity for you to impress the customer on how you will fix it. I ordered a roof rack and crossbars for my 2019 Odyssey and had an appointment for them to be installed. I drove there for my appointment and they did not have the rails in stock. They admitted it was their fault and were apologetic. They gave me a discount on the rails, and Brandon got me in a courtesy vehicle until they got the rails (the same day) from another Honda dealership. They had the rails installed that day. Everything went great in person. Bought a Silverado for 34k and got a temporary plate (lasts 1 month). Still waiting on the title and registration so I can get a permanent license plate for the car. Every time we call they "can't help us" because the person that could answer our questions is conveniently not there. My temporary tag is now 25 days overdue and I'm unable to get another one. When I get a ticket for an expired tag I'm sending them the bill and they can deal with it. Would not recommend this dealer to anyone. Completely useless staff. read more

While setting up an appointment they added an additional diagnostic item to my ticket that I did not state over the phone. I called a few days later about adding an AC diagnostic to the ticket as I had issues with it over the weekend. They did not add the AC diagnostic to my ticket when I dropped off my vehicle. I dropped off my vehicle a day before the appointment and they did not work on my car the day of the appointment! I called them 6 times to get an update about my vehicle 4+ hours after the appointment and did not get a response. They put me on hold every time I called and dropped the calls. I had to send a family member in person to ask about the status as I didn't have a vehicle. I needed my vehicle done on time during its appointment as I was moving out of state for work 2 days after the appointment was scheduled. They are not friendly to their customers or reliable. read more

I was a little disappointed in hidden charges. Once you agree on a price you will get hit with a 275.00 Theft deterent charge that is non negotiable. If it is non negotiable then is should be included in the listed price. It is just the typical car sales lets tack on extra charges at closing. I was also told they were including (but did not saying charging me for for tire and wheel protect for an extra 799.00 which they offered to remove. Just be careful and read everything before signing. This was all in the contract to make it look like it was provided at N/C. They just show you your monthly payment and then rush through everthing else. read more

Poor experience has caused me to pull my Service business from Tom Wood Honda in Anderson, and also another Tom Wood dealership where our other vehicle had been serviced. Bottom line: they appeared to have missed the rear engine-middle spark plug during a routine tune-up, and about 11 months later the Honda broke down out-of-State due to the fouled plug (see photo: top one was the missed plug). Their warranty was supposedly good for a full 12-mo period, but the Service Dept literally when "dark" on me when I reported the issue and asked them to backup the warranty with a refund of their original work (as I was forced to subsequently repair the fouled plug at an out-of-State repair shop before I could return home). After many calls to Service and finally a Claim issued thru the Honda Regional Center, they did finally return my call and I even brought them the fouled plug and vehicle for inspection. Nonetheless they not only are unwilling to honor the warranty, but again simply refuse to even return multiple follow-up calls. My loss apparently, life goes on. But surprised a dealership chain like Tom Wood would pass on future Service business from a almost 7-yr old Minivan and another older car as well! I would recommend avoiding a Tom Wood outlet and try another dealership. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Tom Wood Honda in Anderson since 2016. I've gotten many vehicles from here new and used and traded high quality vehicles to them. Thursday my car started to say it was over heating so I drove to the dealership to get it hooked up to the scanner. Service associate Collin stated to bring it in the morning and have it checked out because he saw the code also. Friday afternoon I pick up my vehicle to be told nothing was wrong. Turn the car on and the check engine light was on. Go back into the service area and Collin begins to make excuses. No apology. He then gets argumentative when I ask what can be done since I was told nothing was wrong, that it was perfectly safe to drive over 300 miles with my children and it's actually not! I explained I was a loyal customer and didn't appreciate being treated this way. Again no apology. No empathy. Collin begins to chuckle and smirk when I am speaking and I had enough. I did NOT yell or cause a scene. I politely yet sternly asked what they would do because they lied. I left stating I'd never ever use Tom Wood Honda again and I would never recommend them for anyone in the Madison county area as I work for a high financial institution and have many family members in the area. I called a dealership in Muncie right after and they helped me OVER THE PHONE and ordered the simple part to be sent to my house so I can change it myself and have a safe vehicle for my trip with my kids. Drove it for a week and discovered Fuel Gauge is broke, both headlights went out, Evap needs replaced front brake and rotors need replaced and the Catalytic Converter needs replaced. if I could rate 0 I would. I had bought a 2015 Ford Fiesta end of February/ Early March. When I payed for the car I was told it was going to be detailed and inspected, okay great! That was on Saturday I told them I can come pick the car up the next Friday to give them enough time to check thing out, fix anything that needed fixing and clean it because oof it was nasty inside. I picked it up that following Friday and Jared Riddle said "they tried super hard to get the stains out but they're set in deep" and then continued to tell me " they did a Chlorine bomb but didn't let it sit long enough so I ordered you a new one so just come pick it up next week" I didn't have a choice but to take the car home how it was because I was without a car and had to have a way to get to work. I got the "stains" out with dawn dish soap and my home carpet cleaner. That Sunday after pumping gas the car wouldn't turn over at first it would crank and crank but not actually start eventually it did it did that again this past Friday. The Tuesday after I picked the car up the breaks start grinding horribly. And my check engine light came on at this point I've only had the car 4 days.I called Jared he said to bring it in that Friday (13th) told me "okay let me talk to my boss and the service manager about getting you into a different car and I'll give you a call tomorrow (14th)" called me the next day and said okay we're going to go ahead and get it serviced. Our service manager will be calling you" never hear from him I tried calling no one answered I've tried calling 4 times (4 time more than I should in the first place) during business hours before everyone got shut down. Lied to my grandpa about the repairs that they alleged to have been done on the vehicle he was purchasing from them, the timing chain was not repaired like they said and the vehicle was totaled. Had to take the vehicle on a flat bed to another mechanic who investigated it and found that the chain was very old and indeed had not been replaced as well as other numerous problems including the head gasket had not been replaced like they claimed. Tried selling me a warranty eventually included the warranty. Finance guy didn't seem to be on same page as sales. Everything worked out fine. The directions on website are horrible.
