We had a very unfortunate and unsettling experience at Don Hinds Ford this evening. My husband was emailing back and forth with someone from the dealership to discuss selling our vehicle. After providing all the details on the car, we went ahead and set up an appointment to have them take a look at the car. We got to the dealership to have the employees look at the car and we were introduced to Gary (I believe that was his name). He came outside to look at the car and was very unprofessional. He asked to look at how many miles were on the car and it was a very awkward interaction. Once he got the number, he immediately got out of the car, didn't turn it off and just walked away. My husband and I finally went inside and after waiting about 10 minutes, we were told that "the check engine light is on and the car is a manual, so we're not interested." 1. The check engine light was not on while we drove to the dealership. (Also, who brings a car to a dealership to sell with the check engine light on??) 2. Secondly, if we provide you all the information on the car via email, why would you set up an appointment just to tell us that you aren't interested in manual cars? 3. I can't speak for my husband on this, but I felt extremely discriminated against. We are a younger couple (both in our mid-twenties), who walked in wearing casual clothing. We were not taken very seriously and it's just unfortunate. Called this location to set up a car appointment for a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The person we spoke to on the phone told us they would extend the warranty on the transmission because the car was under 100k miles. Considering the car has 80k miles and the transmission is now almost completely destroyed because of an issue they're fully aware of as a manufacturer failure this seemed like good news. I thought wow Ford stood behind their product even though it's the first thing that comes up when you Google a 2011 Ford Fiesta is the long list of recalls and repairs that should have never happened. Scheduled an appointment after a lengthy conversation explaining the car would be fixed under warranty. Upon dropping off the car they now suddenly do a 180 and tell us nothing can be done for free. Obviously there is a huge disconnect between reception and service. This dealership is a joke. I would avoid at all costs. To have someone drop off their car for service after a full recorded conversation saying it would be fixed for free just to waste our time is pathetic. Get your act together. Ford clearly never even should have made these cars and clearly this dealer has no interest in keeping customers happy. Save your time and go to 96th street. These guys are a dog and pony show all the way around. Huge inconvenience and clearly a mistake to trust them at all with your vehicle. So I made an appointment at Don Hines Ford online for service on my suv. I had been going to Andy Mohr for years and the dealership and service there was more than horrible- horrific, actually...but that's another story! I pulled in for my appointment around 7:30 and immediately I was greeted by Charlie. He was actually filling in for someone today who was out sick. I explained the services I needed but wanted to make sure I could find out the costs prior to getting the service since my vehicle needed multiple things done. This was literally the best dealership I have EVER BEEN TO. Charlie was the most helpful person I have ever dealt with. He explained everything that they were going to look at first, then he said he would call me back up after they did a thorough inspection. He listed In order of safety and priority which items he felt needed to be done first, second, and so on. He explained each item carefully and worked with me to see how I would like to handle each item. This is the most kind person and treated me with respect and dignity, even though my auto knowledge is limited. I am so grateful for the service I received! Scott usually takes care of me and is always very clear about what the car needs and how much costs will be. Cost is another topic.. this place is so expensive. There are no deals at all no matter where you try. I highly recommend getting prices from Devonshire or CarX, they're usually cheaper. Nonetheless, car repairs are always a hard bill to swallow. I was okay with bringing it in, but the Ford team took extra precautions with wiping everything down before working on my car as well as rewiping it down before I got in it! I bought mine through eBay ( the vehicle we won sounded and was far worse than shown online so I bought another much pricier one) on top of my four yr old low miles vehicle. It is less than six months later and the head gasket is busted on mine, it had low miles and mechanic said it looked to be an old issue a mechanic bandaged to sell it. My wife's vehicle, same exact thing! Broken head gasket. We had 2 vehicles 20 and 13 years old and wanted to go down to 1 vehicle since we don't drive like we used to. We have been researching the Bronco Sport SUV and have been checking the stock at Don Hinds for the last 2 years. We finally decided to go in and talk to them about a deal on one they had on the lot and one they might trade for. The service staff is very friendly and helpful. I don't feel like they are trying to pull the wool over my eyes and pressure me into purchasing services and parts that I don't need. Saturday seems to be a very busy day in terms of oil changes. Make sure to call ahead and get an appointment. They do have a waiting room with some chairs and a tv and a separate kids room. They also have a coffee pot, vending machine, and free Wifi. One thing I would caution on is that it can get cold in the waiting area. Also, on busy days you might end up waiting awhile and I would recommend bring a book, tablet, iPad, or something to distract yourself. Another positive thing is that they do accept Amex. read more

I purchased a used one-owner 2019 Chevrolet Silverado from Don Hinds Ford on 10-29-22. I live about 300 miles away from this dealership. Upon receiving the title, I discovered that they took the vehicle in trade on 3-9-22. Also based on the Carfax, I discovered the previous owner took the truck to a Chevrolet dealer for an engine oil leak and oil cooler line replacement one week before he traded it. I noticed no issues on my short test drive of the truck, but only made it halfway home before noticing a definite engine knock. I made an appointment with my local Chevy dealer and took the truck to them for service. Seven weeks later, GM authorized and completed a full engine replacement on this truck. I requested Don Hinds Ford service records from their General Sales Manager on two occasions and he did not respond to my request. I suspect they knew there was an issue with this truck engine especially since I now know that it sat on their lot for over seven months in the current truck demand environment. I kept Don Hinds Ford management aware of this matter and simply requested that they reimburse part of my rental car expenses, since I was unable to use the truck they sold me for seven weeks. Their General Sales Manager gave me a dismissive response that "he was sorry about the engine and that they could have possibly provided me with a loaner vehicle if I was local, but he understood that was not feasible." He also never acknowledged that I saved their dealership a significant amount by not filing a claim and using their offered powertrain warranty. I have owned and maintained dozens of vehicles in my lifetime and have never posted anything negative about any automotive purchase or service. But I would rate Don Hinds Ford service after the sale as the worst I have ever experienced. It seems to me their primary objective is dealer profits even when at the expense of customer satisfaction and service. I just picked up my new F-150 and received a safety recall notice the following week. I called the dealer to make an appointment to get the recall service completed. After looking up my vehicle information from the VIN number I provided, the girl on the phone told me that the parts needed are on back order. I asked her if they could contact me when the parts are received so I can get the service completed and she told me that they don't have a system in place at the dealership to contact customers with recalled vehicles when their parts become available. I guess that leaves me with the task of trying to remember to call the dealership back every few weeks to see if they have my part in stock. Seems like very poor service from a "service" department. My ongoing guy is RON and he has always been patient with me and is a straight shooter.
