If I can give them negative stars I would.... Good day. On August 2019.we went into your Windowrama store in Farmingdale. Shortly after the salesman Michael Rodriguez came to our home and we placed an order for a door and windows. We ordered a custom made window, A door and also 4 replacement windows. On Nov 3rd 2019 the installer came in to install. We waited patiently from August till November (3 months) for the install. I went with your company because I thought they were a top rated A+ company. We are very surprise at the poor customer service experienced that we were given. 1st- Order a custom window for living room-Window came in and was not the window I ordered. Once we noticed this mistake- We contacted the general manager Steve. Steve told my husband, he would go to the office, check paper work and contact him back. His response was three days later as the installer was installing our door. In the meantime I tried contacted Michael Rodriguez (Salesman). Michael Rodriguez responded to a phone call the next day. Stating that what I signed for wasn't what I really wanted. He said we asked for pricing on different designs and ideas and what we settled on, was the window we received. I explained to Michael that I was very aware of what I ordered, signed and paid for. What I wanted and paid for was on the sale invoice. However we went a back and forth in who was right and who was wrong. I explained to Michael that what was on the invoice was what I ordered and I wanted. He told me I would have to talk to Steve, this situation was out of his hands. My question is why is a problem if my signed contract has the right measurements of the window that we ordered? Again. We waited patiently for Steve. Three days later Steve comes in and tells me Michael side of the story, and start to explain to me and my husband that he was just the middle man trying to make everyone happy. WE are the customers and our signed contract did not match the item installed so I don't understand why there was any confusion. So I pull my cell phone out and showed Steve a text on what I was questioning (it was installing a bigger door). So in the end. Steve understood that we knew exactly what we signed and ordered. Steve offered us 1500 off of our invoice if we kept the window. We explained to Steve, that we was fully aware that this mishap was not our fault but your company's but taking 1500 off was like a slap in our face again. We paid over 13k for the entire project and the custom window being our biggest cost. So we declined because as a customer I felt that Steve didn't try to negotiate with us. It was a take it or leave it deal. REALLY.??? So skip the installed of the door. Our door had a 34 inch opening, and we questioned Michael on this because we wanted to open the door to 36inch (standard size), and he said to open the door it would be around 2K more. We said never mind because we had no problems with the previous opening so we will keep what we have. The door arrives and it is a 36 inch door (wrong order again). So of course your company agrees to give us the door because it was your mistake AGAIN... Not ours. Upon installation of the door. The door is NOT installed correctly. It is slanted and now that we finally had contractors come in and install the sheet rock and taping. They explained to us how the door is not installed correctly. They said it will be hard to put molding up to cover the mistake because of the slant of the door.(UUUGGGHHH). 1. So now our situation is we are waiting on a new window that we have not received any information on since the first wrong installation back in Nov. 2. Who is going to pay to have the contractors come back and tape after the correct window is installed? 3. The door was improperly installed and needs to be fixed asap. PLEASE NOTE.**** WE were doing remolding to the living room are and held up the finishing of the sheet rock and taping because of the install of the windows***** please see attached picture I am very upset that a company of this magnitude don't put their customers first. We were told we didn't know what we ordered to our entire order (except the replacement windows) was wrong. At this present moment we are still waiting on the window that we wanted. No compensation, no sorry, no nothing... Terrible job. I took my time to write out this email, and I hope our concerns does not fall on deaf ears.

By Labor Day, the weather person said "If you thought THIS summer was hot wait a few years until you remember this summer as the last cool one we had". We have a large Western-facing bow window that was getting direct sun. We put that window in 27 years ago, and it worked perfectly fine. Opened, closed, clear glass, nice screens. Really, a very nice bow window without a single problem. I didn't have window treatments because I like a plain look and it's a living room, not a bedroom. But I felt like I was under a magnifying glass, with the sun concentrating in our living room. The air conditioner would not stop cranking, and it was only getting moderately cool. All my neighbors have the same problem, but solved it with thick drapery which, aside from being expensive (4K for one neighbor!) was just dark. I was out shopping with my parents for window treatments, and my father said "Just get Renewal by Andersen Low-E glass". Now my dad is a frugal guy AND a builder. I couldn't BELIEVE he was recommending replacing perfectly good windows, but he explained "They are the best windows out there, I only use Andersen, and look, my house doesn't get hot". And it doesn't. Well one more hot day later, and I call the Andersen people. They have fliers, commercials, social media ads...I just found one of those numbers and made the call. I might have said "I am roasting alive in my own house". Next week, a consultant, Vito Anasto, comes to the house, and he has his box of samples, and a heat lamp. He was so down to earth, and didn't try to "sell" me anything. In fact, I started talking about OTHER windows, and he asked if I had any idea what windows cost, and I hadn't. So he gave me a ballpark figure and I quickly agreed that we should just discuss the one bow window. It was higher than I expected, but I appreciated his honesty. So he explained how the Low-E windows worked, and I was already getting excited. Then, out comes the heat lamp. Vito said "I usually don't do this demonstration, but since it says here 'Client reports being roasted alive' let me show you exactly how these work". So he takes the heat lamp, opens one of my existing bows, and holds the heat lamp outside. I touch the inside of my glass, and almost burn my hand. Then we decamp to the table, and he has samples. We do the same thing with each of the samples, and with the top-of-the-line sample, it's like a trivet. Cool to the touch! I was SOLD. Vito explained that he doesn't have to really sell the windows, the product sells itself; he's just there to figure out which of the local and national deals--which are ongoing--will help me get the best price. And after some searching and playing on his computer, out comes a price. It was higher than I thought it would be, but it was one price. No add-ons, no surprises later...one and done. Well, I looked longingly at that sample that acted like a trivet, and signed. No regrets.

On approximately July 3rd we I came home to my mother-in-law's home where I was visiting, and she told me she had someone coming over to discuss new windows. This surprised me since we had just ordered new blinds for her windows and her windows were all in good shape. I think ordering the blinds created a sales cold call; we have never figured out how this salesman got her number. But it is her house, so I said I would hear him out. He arrived at 6 pm and did not leave until after 10 pm despite us asking him to leave. We would tell him we would think about it, and he would get angry and say that he had now spent all this time ( because he wouldn't leave ) at the house. My 89-year-old mother-in-law was frightened of him. The windows, he said, would be $140,000, but if she signed up today, they would be $98,000. She told him she did not want to decide today, but he kept insisting she just sign his iPad for him to leave. The iPad was a contract for complete replacement of all the windows in her home and an application for a loan for the entire job. She never provided her SS#, a credit card, or her birthday because she does not remember where her card is and can not remember he ss or BD, but somehow she qualified for the loan anyway. After she unknowingly signed up for all the windows and a $98,000 loan, he finally left. She was exhausted and scared. We asked him to email us all the docs she had signed. He was very reluctant, stating " privacy issues"; however, with her insistence and because she does not have email, he did the next day. We, of course, exercised our rights to cancel in 3 days and followed all the necessary steps to do so. My mother-in-law is still worried about the salesman from Renewal by Anderson. We just keep thinking about what if we were not visiting her at that time. She would be stuck.

Ended up walking in on a Saturday to a surprisingly decent sized showroom. We were greeted by Jim who educated us first-time buyers on different types of front door materials, accessories and options. This was the shopping experience I was looking for, especially for us first-time buyers. We had in mind what we were looking for and Jim was able to replicate exactly what we wanted and with guaranteed good quality. There were plenty of brochures to build what we wanted and Jim was able to build our front door on a computer program so we could visualize exactly what we wanted. Morningstar takes care of the purchasing and guarantees a lifetime warranty. You have to find your own contractor for the installing portion - they give you a list of recommended contractors or you can go your own way and find your own. Our custom blue door and screen door was delivered in exactly 2 weeks! We couldn't believe it. Especially because a competitor prior to this visit told us we would have to wait 8-9 weeks for a custom door almost doubled the price. We are highly pleased on our purchase and will certainly recommend Morningstar to all our friends and family!

The company should be paying their workers for their time, or have them disclose and ask for the payment when they arrive so I could have the opportunity to decline.
