I love coming here and can always rely on fresh cut meat bundles. They may be a little more pricey but I am never disappointed. I used to Shop here a lot , back when they were on Ryan.169 on snake hill road . I moved from the area and have missed their products. I was in the area today and made a trip to their new location at Teds package store on Rt.20 . Not a big box store , not a fancy grass fed art nouveau nonsense place , just a real American butcher selling quality beef , poultry and pork . Fresh ground hamburger was ground per order , the smoked whole ham was cut for me on a blade saw as thick as I liked for ham steaks , the pork butt was as fresh as they come ready for my pulled pork instant pot recipe , the steaks were hand trimmed and cut to my liking . Friendly people , old time service and quality meat . Worth the trip from anywhere . That special holiday roast or fresh ground beef and pork for the perfect meatballs . Sure you pay a little more , but the quality is far superior to the market . read more

There is a swinging door to the right that you enter and the butchers are back there ready to custom cut and package your meats. Large board above with what they have to offer and prices. read more

Third time I came during daylight hours and they were closed. It's 4:30pm on Saturday. Seriously, they close at 4pm on a Saturday! Their closing hours range from noon one day, to 4pm another day, and then 5pm, 6pm & 7pm on 4 other days. This is a weird way to run a local retail business, or maybe I'm just old fashioned now. Farms around here are open until 7pm, year round. Thankfully I have another butcher option that is consistent and reasonable with their shop hours. I won't ever think to try this place again; I swear some people really just don't want to make money. But, maybe that's why their prices are a little on the high side anyway...? I dunno. $$$ THE HOURS ON THIS PLACE NEED TO BE UPDATED, they are NOT open till 6pm on Saturdays. read more

They advertised smoked pork chops cut to order. I Love cut to order so I asked for thick cut. He showed me the first cut. Perfect! However, when I opened the package, he gave me a very thin end. Not a very good butcher. He should have told me. Yuck. I was looking forward to a nice meal. I got the runt piece that they should have not sold to anyone! It was bad, really bad. STAY AWAY! Rude and awful service. The Tuesday before Christmas, I called to order a full prime rib roast for New Year's Eve dinner. I was told to "call back, we need to get through Christmas first." So I called back the following Tuesday and ordered my "bone in 7 rib standing prime rib roast." I arrived Thursday at 1 to pick it up. Stood in line for 30 minutes to find out--"oh, we don't have any bone in roasts. Our truck got lost and we don't know where it is!" REALLY! The butcher said, sorry we'll give you a boneless roast for the same price. No choice but to get it, with just hours before family NEW YEARS EVE dinner! He didn't even trim the fat. AWFUL Thought I'd give Stearns a try-----bad idea. Should have gone to my normal butcher "FAIRWAY BEEF" in Worcester! They are the best. Oh, yea----- the beef was just ok. read more

The meat exceeded my already very high expectations, and even though I cooked it almost well done, it was so tender and juicy and delicious! I like the way I'm treated in Stearns, its an old style butcher, custom cuts and package arrangements. They always take care of me Cheaper than supermarkets overall and for sure a better quality. Their home made sausages are good, but they can be judged as dry of overcooked, fat content is low but to be honest I prefer lean sausage. Corned beef hash is awesome get it if not sold out!! Kayem hotdogs cheaper in bulk there then the big membership box stores. read more

Love, Love, Love this place. I always get the shredded chicken... depending on what flavor they have, I might get one or two flavors and use it like a "sloppy" joe. I usually don't like sausage, but I simply love their different homemade chicken sausages. (yes, I am a chicken carnivore, lol). I was disappointed with the packages of marinated steak tips we purchased. Some of the pieces were thin and covered in fat. Inconsistent sizes made grilling a challenge. Don't buy the prepackaged because it wasn't just one but both packages we purchased. They put all the junk in those packages because you don't realize what you've purchased until you're home and ready to make dinner. read more

Worth the trip and call ahead on Saturdays to make sure open after 12 Only thing I would recommend is more engaging friendly folks out front. I come to this store every weekend for the freshest poultry and meats. Are you thinking that fresh cut meat will be more expensive than a grocery store? Think again!! Freshest meat around and the variety seems endless! So far we have tried the maple pork chops, Korean marinated steak tips, Delmonico steak, and ground beef (85%). All have been just amazing. The steak was tender and flavorful and cut to order. I am really picky about ground beef and this one meets and exceeds my standards. And I can't complain about the pork chops and steak tips--the marinades work so well. To top it all off, the people who run the back of the shop AND the front of the shop are super friendly and nice. We discovered this place less than 3 weeks ago and have been back a few times already. We highly recommend this place for the best meat around! read more
