Customer service is horrible and non existent. I called to see why my recycle bin was not emptied. Was told the driver said it was "overflowed". So I asked the customer service rep what does that mean because I see my neighbors with the lid open and "overflowed" and theirs gets picked up. My lid has also been open in the past and got emptied. Terrible and rude customer service. Called to get our Christmas tree picked up and bulky items like boxes and a small dry wall piece. Rude lady said we need to cut up our Christmas tree and fit it in our tiny green bin. What? I need to buy a tool in order for them to pick up a Christmas tree? Never heard that in my life. Edco in Signal Hill is totally corrupt. just realized that Edco has been charging me $97 per month for a Green trash can for years. I don't even have a green trash can. i have artificial turf rather than grass. I asked Edco and the City of Signal Hill to stop charging me $97 per month for a green trash can since I don't have one and don't beed one. My request was denied and I was informed that I am required to pay $97 per month for a green trash can that I don't have and don't need. I paid my most recent bill for the black and blue trash cans and said that I would not pay $97 per month for a green trash can that I don't have or need. Edco's response was to not even pick up my black and blue cans even though I have paid for that. Edco is such a bully. Edco is insisting that I pay $97 per month for a service I don want or need or they won pick up my other cans that I have paid for. this is why so many people are leaving California. The corruption is never ending. This is just one example. California is corrupt! The City of Signal Hill is corrupt!! Edco is corrupt!!! I have lived here all of my life and I am out of here. I just moved to the city of Lakewood and EDCO does the trash pick up. This company is terrible! -They will not pick up your trash if the lid is even slightly open from overflow -They will not pick up anything if it's not neatly tucked into each bin -If you have cardboard boxes outside of the blue bin..because you know..everyone has extra boxes after a move or after Christmas? Forget it, they will leave it on your curb! -If you have a large family, be prepared to wait another week for trash pickup because you just have too much and they will jus t leave it there For $46 every two months, they are just gouging you with subpar service. I really hope a class action lawsuit is brought up against EDCO and/or the city of Lakewood for not giving residents the option to select competitive or better services. read more

We've been calling several times a week yet the trash was not picked up for a month. This is ridiculous. The Buena Park city really needs to do something. I honestly liked the EDCO disposal, because they currently have the better 3 different trash bins made out of toter brand as they last longer than 10 years. Also, I wish we have the 95 gallons of recycling bins at La Palma. Nevertheless, my family and I recycled newspapers, glass bottles, cans, plastic bottles, and cardboard boxes daily. Anyway, I've always loved the front loader trash truck with carry can, when we need the bulky pick up, like large appliances, sofas, bed mattress, and furniture. Hopefully next time, I'll get the larger size of recycling bin at 95 gallons, if the wheels are broken from 65 gallons of medium size recycling cans. read more

These people are as incompetent as Time Warner Cable (which had to take a completely different name in order to attempt to stay in business because it was such an utter failure). Years ago, when my wonderful city made the huge mistake of letting EDCO handle our waste and recycling, the company provided us with three immense receptacles--much too large for the needs of two people. I had them bring us smaller ones, but they removed only one of the three original receptacles (the gray one for trash). I stored the larger ones in my backyard until I decided this month that enough was enough and called to have them picked up. The receptionist told me to put them out the following Tuesday (our regular pick-up day). I put them out along with the three that I use on Monday night. Just in case the driver should fail to notice his instructions, I made it obvious that these two were not to be handled in the usual way by (1) attaching a note to their handles saying "Please take away" and (2) turning them backwards so that they faced my house instead of the street. When I saw that they had not been removed by late afternoon, I called the company again. They informed me that a separate truck--not the one that empties the receptacles--would come later that day and that, if it didn't, it would take them the following day. When the receptacles had not been removed that evening, I called again Wednesday. I was told that they were short-handed and that they would mark the request as Urgent. When the receptacles remained in place, I called again Thursday (or perhaps Friday--or maybe both) and was told that they would try to get them Saturday. They finally did disappear on Saturday. I thought this was the end of my trouble with this simple request. I was wrong. The following Monday evening (this week), I put out my three remaining receptacles as always. By the middle of Tuesday (yesterday), however, two of them were gone. Apparently they had decided to take the blue and the green ones as they should have done one week earlier, but these were the smaller ones that I actually use and did not want taken. I called and reported the error, and they were returned before dark. Again I thought that this was the end of it. It wasn't. Today is Wednesday. Two additional blue and green receptacles were left at my curb. This time they were of two different sizes. Again I called the company. They should be picked up later today. I intend to recommend that my city cut all ties with EDCO and obtain services from one with literate employees. read more

Horrible, money hungry agency. Be aware. They dont tell you that they have multiple types of "construction" dumpsters. They delivered the one that I can NOT put concrete, refused to collect it because the dumpster "is not for concrete construction materials", had to pay extra for a different dumpster , unload the first one and paid extra money for the wrong one. They onl asked me for my credit card number, but they somehow forgot to tell me that this CONSTRUCTION dumpster i s NOT for CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION. Franchised in La Mirada so essentially a monopoly. Very frustrated that for the past year they do not abide by contract and fail to pick up trash. We have called in three times this year because of failure to pick up trash and there were other times we didn't want to waste our time. No option because of their contract with the city of La Mirada. They promised two times that the supervisor Francisco would call but have not received any follow up as they blame the driver and do not follow up. I am talking today about the service this company does in my city. With the way things are right now I have 7 adults living in our house so of course we do have a little more trash then normal. I have most of my trash in big trash bags so I can put more in my cans. This company allows their drivers to decide on what to pick up and not. So today the driver just drives by so now I have two trash cans full and with no answers from this company on what they are going to do. My girlfriend and I rent a condo that's a part of a larger complex. For some reason the complex doesn't have recycling, and consequently the trash dumpster is often filled with cardboard. Not wanting to contribute to this I talked to the HOA to seek approval for a personal recycle bin for our unit, which they approved. I then emailed Edco about setting up service as they're the neighborhood vendor. After explaining what I wanted I was told no. They only way they would service me was if they entire condo switched both garbage and recycling to them. I explained I was a renter and that they already pick up in the neighborhood. It wouldn't impact the schedule they already had, but they, again, refused, not wanting a single customer when they could get an entire building, so we continue without recycling due to this companies greed and indifference to the environment. read more

After having no problem with trash service from edco for over ten years, edco calls me and informs me that" they have been under charging for the dumpster". I was then informed that instead of " back charging me, they would take my dumpster, zero my account and set me up with the three colored bins. I told her I live at the top of a long steep driveway and would not be able to put the cans at the curb, I just don't have the strength to get them down the hill. I asked if they could pick them up at the top of the drive? They pick up my neighbors that way and was told for an extra charge they would, I agreed to pay but they still haven't . I don't understand how hard is it to pick up the trash. Do your route and pick up each trash can in front of every house. This has happened multiple times where I've had to call in because they didn't pick it up. Horrible service for trash company. The drivers are to lazy to get out of truck and empty the trash when you live on a small culdesac and the trucks can't pick up the same way as a larger street they knock trash cans over with no regard for elderly people that might have problems with rotator cuff injuries or other clients that might not be elderly but have health issues. The result is broken lids on cans so when it rains or if you have wildlife like possums you will have another problem. When my elderly mother complained and said she needed another can they delivered another can which was infested with brown widows they rinsed the inside of the can out. I was waiting for the can delivery and noticed there was thick webs around the tires and handles so I got gloves on and flipped the can over and sprayed with raid there was brown widows that came out along with egg sacks. I'm glad I noticed this is very dangerous to anybody especially if you have allergic reaction to spiders. This is what Edco thinks is good customer service and worth all the rate increases. Today I decided to post something because once again they showed there great service. I took vacation time off from work to do yard work for my mother and need the empty cans which she has 2. Took both out they picked up 1 and didn't empty the other which there is more work to be done now I have only 1 can which will not be enough so once again they didn't care about anybody that depends on the service. La mirada should really find another disposal service if the rates are always going up. Bottom line very sad they are willing to improve customer service. We have lived here in Buena Park for over 50 years. Always have been very happy with our trash pick-up service. A few times I didn't get the trash out in time to get picked up, and I called EDCO to request a special pick-up. Even though it was my fault for not getting the cans out, they always sent the truck back to get empty the trash, and were so nice about it. Thanks so much to EDCO! read more

Here we are again on 10/19, EDCO was supposed to pick up all the business trash cans in our complex on 10/17 and guess what they are still sitting outside not picked up and note there are like 50 businesses in this complex.... Now dealing with city for last few days and still no assistance getting trash cans picked up... And guess what else I just compared prices with a competitor in a nearby city for the same service and I'm paying just a hair under 3 times the amount that the competitor charges for the same service....
