I've been pretty happy with Edco over the years. Sometimes they put my trashcans back in a bad spot - and a couple times they've been a bit rough with my carts, but overall they've been good. We got a good deal to try another company so I wasn't looking forward to cancelling with Edco. I did it via their web site and got a quick & very polite reply from one of the customer service reps, whose name (Cindy Horne) I recognized from an interaction many years ago. Ms. Horne was super friendly and helpful and while she pointed out Edco's strong points (live person customer service & 3x yearly bulky item pickup) and encouraged me to stay, didn't try to make me feel bad for trying another company. I had some issues with my new company and may very well end up back with Edco again, because their customer service (talking to a person, and via email) is very good. read more

As a customer of EDCO Waste Disposal, I was recently offered to "Go paperless" for paying my bi-monthy residential waste removal bill. So I decided to try this to save writing a check every two months. What a joke! I received my next bill after I had signed up and lo and behold the bill said to pay by check. I then went to the EDCO website and tried to sign in to determine why my bill was not Auto Pay after I had signed up and given my credit card to be billed. I was denied entry to log-on and locked out. What? I then called the customer service number on the bill and after waiting for 10 minutes I was told that EDCO would cancel Auto Pay and I should send the check by mail for payment. I was not given any reason or apology for being locked out of my account on my very first try. The Customer Service Rep asked if there was "anything else" she could do for me. "An explanation and an apology would have be nice, but evidently EDCO doesn't do that," I replied. To other users of EDCO, protect your personal information and pay by check. Their Customer Service is poor. Keep EDCO away from your bank and in their lane to haul away the trash. It is about the only thing they can be trusted to do, barely. read more

I was very impressed today when I recycled my cans and bottles at this location for the very first time. The attendant was very nice and educated me on how to separate my items in order for him to process my cans and bottles for my CRV refund. This location only accepts CRV recycling which is good to know. Steps for recycling your CRV: -Separate glass bottles in green bins by color (green, clear, brown) -Separate plastice by color in round mesh bins (clear, white/opaque) -Separate cans into round mesh bins Attendant will weight/count items, print a receipt, then will process the receipt and give you cash back. read more

Second review. Had dumpster service in San Diego. Monthly 3 yard split container, trash and recycle. Initially charged $175 per month. Few times there was a pick up truck blocking the entrance to the alley. Trash didn't get picked up but still got charged. Edco said that I should have known about the truck and the missed pick up and they would have rescheduled. I don't live there. Happened a few times and I was charged even tho it wasn't dumped. New law with green cans for food/yard waste enacted in CA. Didn't get green can. Repeatedly asked about it and to not be charged $106 per month for no can, no service. Refused to pay. Told them to remove dumpster. Disputed charges and service. Wanted to see breakdown of final charges which included the green can that I never had. Trash collector admitted to never servicing or seeing a green can at my premises. The rep (Michael) never returned calls. Got sent to collection. read more

I've been an Edco customer for 21 years, and I've always received awesome customer service. They are easy to reach by phone, online interface is good, and I love that they provide the trash bins free of charge (I heard City charges). On trash day, if the driver see that you missed getting some trash in, they are accommodating while you run across the street or whatever. Thanks EDCO! read more

This place is awful. One of their trucks knocked down my internet line 2 months ago, I'm still waiting for them to fix it. My internet provider won't help. And Even though EDCO knocked it down, they claim they can't do anything about it. And getting a hold of anyone over the phone is impossible but through email they'll respond, sometimes. One star cause you can't give none. Could never get a straight answer from these people after nine separate conversations regarding what could go into a rented dumpster during a remodel project. The answers changed every time. We only put construction material into the dumpster yet were arbitrarily charged almost 2K dollars of additional fee's with no invoice provided. Strongly recommend avoid these guys and go with Diamond environmental services in San Marcos. Much more pleasant and professional to deal with. read more

This is hands-down the worst customer service price hiking obtrusive pathetic trash company I have ever had to deal with. In customer service it took me seven messages over a two month timeframe to get through to somebody not because they called me back but because I kept calling to have a charge erased off of my bill for services they never rendered. I was originally paying $70 for a 3 yard dumpster they removed my dumpster cut it in half literally welded it back together and gave it back to me as a 2 yard dumpster and then increase the price to $85 a month. If you have a dumpster they now charge you a state mandated recycling fee which they have set at $40 which by the way is seven dollars less than the residential service for the entire trash service. That's $40 a month in addition to the $80 or $85 a month for a single recycling bin. read more

The curbside service has been great. The office support is very weak. My account was placed on hold and they confiscated my trash can. Turns out EDCO was sending my bill to an unknown address......their error. The office clerk stated It was my problem and I was notified by email. When I stated I never received an email she challenged me and stated the dates the emails were sent. I asked her what email address the notices were sent to.....it was the wrong email address....their error. EDCO HAS THE WRONG MAILING ADDRESS AND EMAIL ADDRESS AND TAKE MY TRASH CAN!!! AND WILL NOT REPLACE MY TRASH CAN UNTIL THE NEXT SCHEDULED SERVICE DAY???? That's the customer service I get for their error. read more

This happen a couple of times. I know people have different experiences. Jen was great. She was patient and had help me. My trash can was always getting picked up. Now, since I requested for another trash can that they mark with my address on it. The old trash can that I already had and been living there for about 10years. They always missed our trash can bin. Everytime I called, they said oh it says on our system that it has been picked up! I said if it says that then why the H I still have full of trash in it!?!? Any who, short story, because I can go on... remember I've been staying there for about 10years with no MARK! "They said". ;so here is my video to let them know now it's mark bold big. It is hard to imagine a worse company than waste management but here it is - EDCO. Pricing inconsistencies, unreliable service as they miss pickups, terrible unfriendly customer service with built in buffers for them to avoid accountability. It has only been 2 months and I am dreading the future with these local losers. Who cares if your crappy company is local? It does not translate into even average service. She was was so patient with me while I kept putting her on hold to consult my husband. I love EDCO's user-friendly website. EDCO's customer service is always excellent. I hate trash. I hate smelly things. I hate throwing away stuff and wasting. I hate trash. But Edco, helps. They have amazing customer service. I live on a main road and often my trashcans have been vandalized. Edco never accuses me of doing anything wrong. If I missed getting the trash out (I have two male roommates at the time) then they have come back to pick up my trash. The customer service agents are SO RUDE and talk to you like your a piece of the garbage they pick up! I had to call back to fix a mistake with our service and was put on hold for long periods of time. When I was asked who I spoke with and I said I was not sure I got a lecture about listening! Really? I come here to use their scales to weigh newly purchased commercial vehicles, and its always been a pleasant experience. They charge $13 to weigh a vehicle, and give you the certificate to take tot he dmv. Their employees always seem to be in a god mood, just make sure if you use the scales you enter gate 3 or 4. I prefer gate 3 because gate 4 has these metal speed bump things laid down in front. read more

Edco is the worst waste management service I've ever had to deal with, and I worked in facilities for more than a decade. If you have an option, choose another company. They break your trash or recycling can, you must buy a new one. Their personnel will trespass in your yard and the company reps just say it's okay. Not even an apology. EDCO small pickup truck driver could have killed or injured two drivers today Liscence plate 01055P1 Edco needs to be more careful about who to hire as their drivers. Today an EDCO driver in a tuck nearly killed or injured me and the car next to me. There were 2 cars waiting at a 2 lane intersection. An edco driver pulls up to the far right lane( presumably the right turn lane). When the lights turns greens the edco driver is still along side us for but for some reason he does not turn right but proceeds up with us and tries to push towards my lane. Out of instinct of not wanting to get hit, im slowing down and curving left because his car is pushing closer to me and because of that i had to swerve a bit to the left to avoid being hit. The car to the left also understood what was going on. The edco truck keeps going after he passes us while we are both honking at him trying to let him know that what he is doing is absolutely insane and dangerous and he should not be allowed on the road. I guess because he is using a edco rental small pick up truck and not his own car, he feels that hes okay to do whatever the hell he wants. So all in all, he pulled up to the intersection last and instead of waiting in line, pulls a dangerous maneuver to get ahead. So watch your back if truck 01055P1 is near you because you might not see him next to you and that could be the end of you read more

None of us have a choice on what company picks up our trash. It is determined by your address. That being said, Edco does pick up my trash once a week with minimal problems. But try and schedule a bulky item pick up and they will drown you in rules. It's clearly meant to discourage you from scheduling it. Oh and I hope no one is renting dumpsters from these people for $480 minimum when you can contact a junk dealer to pick up for half the cost. read more

She continued to yell and argue and talk over me. She shouldn't be talking to customers on the phone. She's rude and has zero customer service. Trashy service. Pun intended. Every week I come home and the neighborhood street has trash/recycle bins thrown about, knocked over, in the middle of the street, etc. There's bits of recycling and trash all over the place too. I couldn't understand how this was happening, but I saw it today. The trash guy doesn't even get out of the truck. The truck has a device to pick-up and dump the bins for him without getting out. When the trash and recycling spills out as the truck abrasively scoops up the bins and dumps them, the driver doesn't care one bit because that would require him to get out of the truck. I didn't realize I had standards for trash pick-up, but this company takes it to a whole new low. I called today to give them feedback that they are making the neighborhoods look trashy...literally due to all the trash and bins scattered on the street. But they were 100% content with the poor quality of their service and defended the drivers because "the drivers are responsible if the truck gets stolen so they aren't allowed to get out." Um, ok, are there a lot of trash truck thieves nowadays?! Be realistic. Does your company have no pride in the quality of their work?? It's trash pick-up for pete's sake. It's not that hard. Other companies have figured out the incredibly complex concept of "trash pick-up." There's so many easy fixes to Edco's poor pick-up service. Get out of the truck, get a second worker that can get out of the truck, if the truck's pick-up device dumps trash on the street maybe you should look into a different truck design, etc. Stop being so lazy and money hungry that you can't possibly afford the extra time it would take to actually "pick-up" the trash rather than dumping it on my driveway and calling it a day. We are about to be dirt poor (due to a lay off) so we called edco to see if they could possibly pick up once a month. Understandably, the answer was no, but it was worth a shot. So, we cancelled service. We were paid up through September 30th. Our trash was emptied by the trash trucks but no one wanted to pick up the trash cans. My mom called every other day to 'remind' them about their cans, but of course we weren't paying customers anymore so why would they care. The 'customer service' people were rude and they sounded bored and annoyed. They repeatedly made promises and subsequently told lies when they said someone would be out to pick them up. October 9th comes around and I had had enough. I asked to speak to a manager and let her know just how incompetent her company was (like she isn't fully aware of that fact) and she said they would be picked up on the 10th. Finally!! I find it so sad that so many people who are currently employed aren't more appreciative. I would be so grateful to have a job and I would have made it my mission to get someone out to pick up the cans as soon as the issue came to my attention. read more

Very poor service. I ordered a 25 yard dumpster for my construction project and was promised a dumpster with 6' high sides. They were four hours late and delivered a dumpster with 4' high sides. They offered to exchange it if it was empty but my guys had already put 2 hrs worth of fill in it. I asked for a discount and they told me to pound sand. Worst disposal service I have ever had. Completely unreliable. Pick up was rescheduled by one day because of the Xmas Holiday - it is now Wednesday a no one has yet to show up. Worst, this is not the first time this company's service has been proven to be inadequate. The customer and its supervisor act as if you are bothering them when you call in for information or to find out what is happening. Inappropriate responses. If I were running this company I would fire the entire staff and management and start over from scratch. The current organization does not have the wherewithal to provide acceptable service. We love EDCO & love our trash men. We have had service for years and always get quality service. We live in rancho san diego and have rented a tbin for a garage clean up. The price was decently priced at $175 and it included 10 days of rent and 800 pounds of debris. Our driver for the tbin got the dumpster there mid day and we had plenty of time to fill it within the 10 days that we had it. I think we will order it again for our wedding next year. It was so convenient to get rid of all the trash at the same time instead of waiting for the weekly trash service. I also wanted to mention the large item removal that we can schedule every 3 months is so very convenient. It was the perfect way to get rid of our old bed room furniture. WE LOVE EDCO!!!! This place needs extra training on their customer service!!!! When they bought out Daily, things went downhill. I am told that they no longer do Christmas tree removal (as they did last year), had 2 reps with wrong information. So much for helping out our local businesses.
