Well, here we go again. Yes, I went to Eddie F's again today and this time took my wife. She had the Fish & Chips and I had the Grilled Haddock. I'm more attracted to non-fried food so the Grilled Haddock was right up my alley. This time I had that with the side order of baked beans and macaroni salad. Again I was not disappointed. My wife gave me the thumbs up on her food also. So I guess I did good. I read the review about the cleanliness. Let me say this, this place is clean. I'm sure they have food inspectors that come in and if it was not able to pass, it would not be open. On the other review which they gave one star, I don't know when this individual called in an order but must understand that you only have a certain amount of people working, trying to please their customers so you have to give them a break. Obviously they don't want to lose customers. If it is a certain time when people are calling in phone orders and coming inside for take out, things happen. Nobody is perfect unless you walk on water. I have been telling a lot of people about this place. Thank God I'm retired and can go there anytime I want. Now I don't have to make seafood at home anymore. The only thing I'll continue making at home is the baked Salmon. Going two days in a row, I guess I'm trying to make up lost time since he has opened up. I'm good with that for sure! read more

Service was professional and friendly and the food arrived quickly. The 5 stars are not as much for gourmet dishes but rather because they do gluten free so well. It's difficult to find truly gluten free fish and chips and there are other great options as well read more

This review is actually for the Saratoga racetrack location. So very excited to see whole belly clams on their menu. Breaded and fried to order, it came out in less than 5 minutes, super crispy and served with homemade tartar sauce. Disappointed to see how little there was (and I know that whole bellies are pricey) in the order and that they weren't as tasty as I would've like. The crunch factor was phenomenal though. It's sad because we used to come weekly when I lived in the area but I won't be returning. My last visit, the iced tea had mold in it and I was told they switched to brewing their own and staff kept forgetting to put it back in the fridge. But that doesn't cause mold. read more

It was to our excitement that Eddie F's came up on the list of participating restaurants during Saratoga Restaurant Week! This was our first participation, although being from the area. The wait staff greeted us promptly and came to our table almost immediately upon arrival. There was only one other table in the restaurant when we arrived. We took about 5 minutes to decide what we wished to order and decided on the restaurant week special and an a la carte of onion rings. Things to note: (1) Bottle only service including on commonly fountain style beverages such as soda (2) Everything comes out on deli/picnic style plates with white/red checkered food paper. (3) If it is cold out, bring layers, it is cold inside. (I'd been to the pink store prior to it being Eddie F's over the decades and it was always cold) We got our soups almost instantly and the lobster bisque was yummy, you could taste the butter. As we waited for our entrees another couple was seated, so now this was just us and this other table that came in 10 min after us waiting for food (other table left). We continued to wait... around 15 minutes go by and the table that was seated after we had ordered received their entree before us. After around 25 minutes of waiting we received our food. It was pretty good, my husband really enjoyed the lobster and I liked the scallops (hindsight, I think I would have enjoyed grilled more). It was a bit of an unusual experience. I was still using my plate for a ketchup bowl and munching on the full plate of onion rings when my plate was cleared. To be fair, I don't believe they realized I was using it for ketchup still, so I didn't say anything. When I asked for a to go dish for the full size plate of onion rings, a small box was brought. It was challenging to get the food into the box. I managed it, but it could have used a piece of tape. All in all - I'm sure the kitchen was doing their best, I personally felt it was a very long wait for the amount of tables and few people standing for Togo orders. My husband had been anticipating to go here for a while and he was a bit underwhelmed unfortunately. We definitely thought the decor was wonderful and enjoyed reading the purse placards on the wall! Think it's a place to try and see if it fits with your vibe and needs. This could have been a one off. read more

Their lobster rolls are really meaty and full of fresh lobster. You can have it hot with butter or cold with mayo, onion rings or French fries. The twin lobster rolls cost $58. Their homemade cannolis are also very good, not too sweet. Service is friendly and food comes out quickly. I went for some Full Bellied Clams. I asked this time, what size are they? The last time I was here they were so small. about the size of my pinky nail!! They said they were a good size. so I ordered the platter as I was told I would get more clams that way. O.K. $31 with coleslaw and potato salad. The coleslaw was ok a bit dry, the potato salad, I took one bite and tossed it. No flavor! When i got home and opened the box, I was amazed!! 6 whole bellied clams for $31. How many do they put in a roll 3?? They tasted good, but I would have like the basket that I saw in the photos that were on the website!!! With in 5 minutes of eating. Finally had a chance to try this place. Heard and read many good reviews It was a nice walk from center of town but kept wondering if i was going the right way as its surrounded by homes. But when you come to it is a very cute charming places. Clean outside patio which is shaded. I took a table inside and you immediately knew you were in Saratoga. As the place is very simple and very seafood shack like, except the walls have all racing pictures, which I wanted to look at them all. Looks like someone converted there basement and garage into a restaurant. I was greeted by a gentleman in gym shorts and t shirt who was very pleasant. He sat me and took my order. I started with Manhattan Clam chowder, which was delicious. As I was eating it I kelt thinking about taking a pint home. My Roll was as good. Clifton Park Eddie F's may be closer to home, but when in Saratoga why not return to the original? And on second thought, why not enjoy what we really enjoyed the last time? More Lobster Rolls!!! They also have a special to save you a few bucks when you buy Twin Lobster Rolls ($54), hot or cold or one of each. We went with the one of each and then split them in half. Both were really good. Difficult to decide if I have a preference. Maybe the cold, even though the hot came with a side of melted butter. The twins came with a side of cole slaw and either fries or onion rings. We chose the rings and they were very good - well drained before being placed in the basket, but benefitted further from the addition of some salt and pepper. Also ordered a side of Potato Salad ($6), some Saratoga Sparkling water ($2.99), and an Artisanal Intermezzo Pilsner ($6.99). While prices have increased to keep up with costs, portions have not suffered at all. The lobster roll Wednesday special is still a great deal and filling! I was looking through my reviews and I can't believe that I only gave Eddie F's a four star rating. Every time I come here, the food is absolutely delicious. To put into perspective, I went here recently and ordered the Seafood Alfredo and it was magnificent. To explain, the Alfredo sauce was creamy with excellent flavor. In addition, the lobster, shrimp, and scallops were all incredibly fresh and cooked perfectly. Furthermore, everything that I have ever ordered here has been great. Especially the lobster rolls, lobster bisque, whole belly clams, fried shrimp, and now the Seafood Alfredo. In the end, Eddie F's is the best seafood restaurant in the Capital Region and it's definitely worth five stars. read more

If I could give no stars I would. We ordered online and were told 45 minutes. I arrived 45-mins later and was still waiting at the restaurant 90 minutes later. I saw 4 tables get seated , receive their meals, and leave while I waited. When I asked why, I was told call-ins and online orders get pushed back when there are dine in orders. Very poor policy. I am actually writing this review while waiting for my food, so I can't even tell you what the food is like. Actually 4.5 stars! Finally got here on a hot Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Coming here has been on my "restaurants to go to list" since last summer. I know several people who love the place. We ordered --Cold Lobster Roll $23. (fresh lobster tasted good but there could have been more lobster, and roll was toasted with excess of butter) with crispy fries and beans. --Grilled Haddock with Broccoli $14. With sides of NE Chowder and baked beans (my daughter enjoyed it very much). --Captain's Basket $35. (Liked that you could have the scallops and shrimp broiled and not fried). The Whole Belly Clams were 5 Stars! Scallops were cooked perfectly. Served with beans and NE Chowder. The Cole Slaw was tangy with a hint of sweetness which is what we like. The NE Clam Chowder was 4.5 stars. The flavor and texture were very good, but there could/should have been more clams to earn 5 stars from me. (We just returned from Narragansett, RI, so we were spoiled by great seafood by the shore.) We got a quart of cold chowder to bring home and enjoy later. Service was 5 stars! Friendly, efficient, and helpful! We ate outside under an umbrella. We were served ice water which was refreshing in addition to one Sam Summer. It really is out of the way in terms of the main attractions of Saratoga Springs, in a residential section in the north part of the city, well away from the race track, downtown, the casino, and SPAC. SO ordered blackened fish with a side of onion rings and mac salad. Food that is deep fried is crisp and perfectly cooked. No off flavors from bad or old oil. Delicious! Just delicious. Staff are friendly and quick with orders and answering questions. Other patrons were chatty like they have visited many times before with friends. Parking is on street but not too bad. Warning do not pre order, I tried to call and no one picks up the phone so I decided to order online. I put in an order for 4 which was well over $100. I received my confirmation and started to drive that way. I then received a notice that they were unable to fulfill my order and my money would be refunded in up to 3 days. so now I have no food and no money. since I was 1/2 way there I decided just to go there to either get my food or my refund. The woman at the front says they are unfortunately short staffed and they were unable to refund me as they use a third party service for online ordering. I mention how this was not right that I was walking away with no food and no money, so she says let me call Eddie, He did not answer...go figure! That was Friday and it is now Tuesday and still no refund. You would be better off driving farther to Ted's where the service is much quicker, it's 1/2 the cost and you actually receive the food you pay for! Beyond disappointed! read more
