Stopped in here for a pre-concert nosh prior to heading over to the nearby Saratoga Performing Arts Center. For drinks, I had the Sloop Pilsner draft. Very nice. My better half had a Cosmopolitan, which she enjoyed. Started with the charcuterie board (You choose a total of five meats and cheeses). For cheese we selected Burrata (cream filled mozzarella), Drunken Goat (goat / red wine dipped) and Parmigiano (cow / the real thing). The meats were Serrano Ham (dry cured Spanish ham) and Speck Ham (dry cured and lightly smoked Italian ham). OMG. Delicious. And the portions were on the hearty size. For a main I had the Mussels (garlic, butter, white wine, chili and fennel pollen). Another OMG. It was divine, and we had bread to soak up that wonderful sauce. We also had the Lobster Pizza (lobster, tomato cream, spinach, leeks, roasted cherry tomatoes, ricotta and grana padano). This was only ok. Not enough lobster, in my opinion. We were disappointed with our experience. I ordered the $49 hanger steak medium rare, but it arrived overcooked. Of the eight slices, only half were edible. The remaining slices were essentially on the darker side of well-done, almost burnt ends. For a restaurant positioned as an upscale dining destination on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, I expected much better. The quality of the steak was more in line with what I'd expect from a chain like Applebee's than a higher-end establishment. Delicious breakfast! The restaurant has many different options, so there's something for everyone. We sat outside with our dog and their location is great for people watching. I had brunch with friends here on a Sunday morning. I didn't make reservations and we were lucky to snag a table because we showed up when they opened. When our waiter came to take our drink orders, I asked if the specialty lattes that were available at Mrs. London's Bakery, which is attached to the restaurant, and I was told no. I honestly thought the two businesses were affiliated and didn't understand why that was the case because you could order a pastry basket for the table. I think having specialty drinks from Mrs. London's would really elevate their brunch experience. Just my two cents! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I tried the asparagus and mushroom omelet, which came with home fries, and really enjoyed it. Really love the food here, however, the outdoor seating is swarmed with bees. Believe the landlord may have a nest higher up on the building, which is making the sugary dishes heaven for the bees. Our trip was a change from our usual local spot for breakfast. We were quickly greeted, service was for the most part perfect. The check was dropped pretty late though and did delay our day, but it is what it is. I recommend this restaurant to others looking for an upscale breakfast experience, but recommend indoor seating. We really wanted to love Max London's, and while our first visit didn't quite hit the mark, we can definitely see the potential. We had a reservation through RESY (Amex Rewards), and when we arrived right on time, the hostess let us know there were no tables available yet and that the wait would be about 30-40 minutes. We completely understand that weekends are busy, and we never expect to be seated immediately, but we had just come from an athletic event and our kids were starving. Since it was a busy weekend, we decided to wait rather than scramble to find another spot. The menu looked very appetizing and we ordered a breakfast plate for our son, tomato soup, lobster pizza, and a burger. The breakfast was solid, your classic bacon, eggs, and potatoes. The tomato soup looked beautiful but was a bit underseasoned, and we felt the same about the lobster pizza. Everything was presented really well, but the flavors just didn't quite match the visual appeal. Our server also seemed to be juggling quite a few tables, so refills were a little hard to come by, which we completely understand during a rush. That said, the ambiance is wonderful. It's lively, welcoming, and absolutely beautiful inside. We truly wanted the food to match the vibe and hope this was just an off day, because it's a great spot with a lot going for it. read more

On a recent visit to Saratoga Springs, Max London's was highly recommended by friends and backed up by a solid 4+ star review on Yelp! Reservations for 7PM on a Sunday night during the long, Memorial Day weekend was easy and flawless as our table was ready when we arrived. The rest of the restaurant was packed including all of the seats at the bar near the entrance. Plenty of service staff were present taking orders, delivering food, and bussing tables. Max London's looked like an establishment that knew its clients and how to train staff and operate a busy restaurant. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided a good perspective on menu items rather than just saying "everything is good", Our British born waitress who has been with Max London's for just under a year was on point, super friendly, and attentive enough for higher priced steak houses in the bigger cities. The wedge salad was ordered. Unfortunately, the bacon seemed a little undercooked and was not consumed while the rest of the salad was very good including the dressing. The Caesar Salad (ordered sans anchovies) was also very good and was not smothered in too much dressing. Entrees included the butternut squash raviolis with kale and a classic Brady Burger. Both were delicious and I particularly loved the shoestring fries which were hot, crispy, yet fresh and soft on the inside. Perfectly done for me. Between salads and entrees, we didn't have room for dessert but several items looked intriguing including the crème brûlée and the chocolate cake. Our table was missing silverware and we had to ask several times for knives. A total disaster from a service perspective. Very disappointing to say the least. First, I'd not made an online reservation using Resy before. It was easy and I liked the text message follow-ups. Second, the food at Max London's was delicious and filling! We had the Brady Burger and the Maple Miso Glazed Faroe Island Salmon. We would definitely order those again and recommend them to other people. We both had "fancy" drinks, and those were good too. The food is the best thing about Max London's, recently enhanced by a stint by Brady Duhame (now departed) as EC. Brady brought over the standards he developed at 15 Church including the wedge salad, brick chicken, Brady burger and ... of course... zeppoli! Much of the rest of the menu is unchanged from my first visit in 2009, including polenta fries and a good selection of single-serving wood fired pizzas. You will find something to order that makes you happy. Front of house, however, does not live up to the food. I've been through several changes of management and the service has always been lackadaisical and amateurish for a place which, while not the most expensive in town, charges a pretty penny for its food. Tonight we were left unattended for several long stretches with the restaurant about 1/3 filled. We waited for our drinks (and I waited some more after I discovered they were out of the very common brand of Scotch I requested), waited again for plates to be cleared after the meal, and would have waited further for our check had I not gone to request it. And, the soundtrack! I don't think I have ever experienced such a loud and intrusive musical and vocal accompaniment to what should be a serene and intimate meal. This too has endured through several changes in management so I guess it's part of the brand. It seems quieter at the bar which may be why so many people like to eat there. read more

The eatery is big, bright, and airy. The staff is very helpful. We ordered as an appetizer consisting in goat cheese, parmigiano, and Spanish ham for the table. I ordered a pizza margherita, my family ordered burgers. The appetizer arrived and was devoured before I could take a picture of it. Yes, it was that good! The entrees arrived shortly after the appetizer was finished. The pizza was very good and so were the burgers. Takeaways: Portions: entrees good, appetizers not so much. Parking was non existent. Max London's had a table outside that we could sit down immediately at, and that's really all we were looking for on a busy summer weekend in Saratoga. Even then, I think we got lucky because it just stopped raining. Thankfully, it turns out this place is quite solid. From the moment our waiter started chatting us up, I knew we made a good decision. I don't recall the man's name, but I do know he's a teacher during the school year (so I'm sure he's back to work), and he guided us well. We'd been eating smoked red meats all week, and needed a little lighter meal. We started with the aptly but unimaginatively named Veggie App, the spicy tuna tartare, and split a local apple salad and the citrus-glazed salmon as well. The salmon was properly cooked, the salad was nice and fresh and covered with meat and cheese (how I like my salads), and the tuna tartare and veggie app were surprisingly generous portions. Everything was pretty, and tasty, and it all hit the spot as we watched Saratoga walk by. read more

Such great service! We stopped hear on our way brine from a long road trip and were so happy they were able to accommodate us in their outdoor patio with our little dog. Great people watching area and the food was also delicious. We started with the hummus and it was so good we ordered one to go too. The meals were all very good. I had the brick chicken with mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the burger and he raved about it. Our daughters had a Cavatelli pasta and tuna tartare. All of the dishes were cooked to perfection. We stopped into Max London's on Travers Day for some late-night pizza and drinks. Around 8:30 pm we were able to get a seat without a reservation, which was great. Our server was terrific--friendly and attentive. We ordered pizzas, but unfortunately they were just okay--and considering the price, they felt even less impressive. Baked goods in the bakery showcase were not appealing enough to convince me to order one for dessert; and pastries are my weakness. Super packed evening here but we were able to get a table inside. Our server was very nice although everything happened a little on the slow side but that just could have been because they were packed. I ordered a bottle of champagne to start I asked for it to be very very cold. Unfortunately it came out lukewarm at best meeting I was not able to finish my bottle. That was pretty disappointing because the price was high. I also had to ask for ice and water for it to try and cool it down but it never got as cold as I wanted it to be. FOr appetizers we got a cup of the soup which is fantastic. It's the same soup they serve next-door at Mrs. London's and is creamy and flavorful. We also got the Ahi tartare. The tuna itself was good with a nice sauce. The drawback here were the taro chips on the side. I had a little bit of a funny texture and the aftertaste was not great. I have actually never had taro chips before and I will not order them again. For dinner I got the lemon chicken. Sauce was actually very nice. The chicken was moist and the portion size was very good. It did need some seasoning and I had to continuously salt. Also the menu mentioned it had some sweet corn succotash. I don't know where that ended up but it definitely wasn't on my plate. Our other main was the special at the night. It was a ribeye. We actually saw somebody else eating it and decided to order because it looked so delicious. The meat itself was flavorful although I am not a huge fan of ribeyes. It was cooked perfectly. The potatoes came ala carte and they are flavored but I did not see that mentioned on the actual menu and my dinner date did not like that at all. The ribeye is supposed to be market price and it was a hefty sum at near $80. Overall, the food was good but not great. We visited Max London's on a weekend trip to Saratoga Springs on a recommendation from a friend. As a gluten free girly with a nightshade sensitivity, I always look for places with options, and Max London's has them! My sister and I both got the special of the night which was a pasta, and they were able to replace the regular pasta with gluten free penne (they also have a GF spaghetti option). They have gluten free pizza as well. The waitress was incredibly nice and accommodating--10/10 for service alone. Drinks were good and strong, and the restaurant itself is very pretty. We were there for a 5:15pm reservation so it wasn't too busy yet, but as we were leaving at 6:15ish it was definitely filling up, so I recommend a reservation if you're going here. My friend and I landed here for lunch. We were out shopping and the menu, ambiance and outdoor dining enticed us. We decided to eat outdoors because of the pandemic. The indoor restaurant is really snazzy and has a great modern laid back vibe. The bar area is inviting and a welcoming area to engage with friends and possibly make new acquaintances.The restrooms are onesies so lines do form. After we were seated outdoors. The service was slow and it took at least 10 minutes for our server to acknowledge us. She apologized and was friendly. I started with the PEACH BELLINI which for them is White Peach Puree + Prosecco. It was okay nothing spectacular. Brunch had just ended and large plates hadn't started so we ordered from the bar menu. I ordered the Apple Salad and the Thai Chicken. It took about 15 minutes to be served after we ordered. The Apple Salad was a mixture of Arugula, Saratoga apples, serrano ham, marcona almonds, manchego cheese + cider vinaigrette.
