    The rolls!

Everything was top notch-beautiful setting, good service, wonderful food. But the rolls??? Best I ever tasted. I would go back just for those. Also enjoyed the lamb chops and everything else. But do not skip the rolls.

Seneca's ambiance is clean, warm and welcoming. Justin our meal facilitator welcomed us with open arms and provided thorough recommendations. He was very helpful. We started with the rack of lamb, rolls and roasted beets. One dish was better than the other. For our entree, I had the pork chop. The flavors were out of this world. My guest had the steak which was cooked to perfection.

Perfect date night dinner. My husband and I hadn't been able to get out and have time for US. We wanted a nice, intimate, sit-down dinner where we could just enjoy each other's company over a few drinks. Seneca SERVED! I totally forgot our waiter's name, but he was the BEST. He even brought a purse hook for my furry YSL (the sweetest). I was totally fine slinging it over my chair but our server was like "not on my watch Queen"...ok he didn't SAY that exactly but I can have scenarios playing in my head, right? We made a RESY through RESY--no issues, we were sat right away. I browsed the menu prior to coming an immediately knew we needed to start with drinks (a SALTED Caramel Espresso for me and a beer for my guy). Drink was exquisite, so I had 2. We started off with the oysters that were beyond delicious with that chorizo oil. For the entrees we ordered the NY Strip with grilled shrimp (husband said it was cooked perfectly) and I got the shrimp and grits. I'm not a big fan of grits; but I saw someone else's plate and it looked amazing. No complaints on food whatsoever. I also want to mention that if you're in a pinch for a last minute reservation--utilize the Global Dining Club through AMEX-I was able to get a table same day! It was a great experience and we will be returning.

Very pretty, smaller venue with great service. Our server Jake was very friendly and attentive- he was wonderful! What we ordered: -Berry cosmo 5/5, sweet but strong. -House made Parker house rolls: 5/5, these are a MUST. They are so light and airy and they come with a nice spread of whipped butter -Coal fired beets: 5/5, these pistachio butter was so creative and it comes with a big ball of burrata -Lamb lollipops: 5/5, very tender/easy to eat, only comes with 3 -Crab spaghetti: 3.9/5, overall good but it was more like crab cake than actual pieces of crab -Salmon (guest rating): 5/5, large piece of salmon with unique flavors intertwined -Wagyu burger (guest rating): 5/5, great flavor and the tomato jam that comes with the fries is sweet and great but I wish the fries alone were more exciting, very boring unseasoned potatoes -Hanger steak (guest rating + me taste testing): 4/5, cooked very well and I love the presentation with the potato cubes but the marinate is kind of boring

I finally made it to Seneca and I am so glad I did. This place has been on my list for years, but I don't make it up to Saratoga as much as I'd like. We arrived before they opened to grab a seat at the bar, we received great service from the bartenders, and amazing drinks. I am currently obsessed with blue cheese stuffed olives and the Dirty French is an excellent martini, I subbed for gin of course. I ordered two because they were so good. The allure of these Parker House rolls has been a main driver to visit, how good could they be? Well I'll tell you they exceeded my already super high expectation. They were so fluffy it seemed to deft physics, salty, sweet, melt in your mouth with a perfect salty butter to smear all over the fresh and hot rolls. Amazing bread. We opted for a small app to share as well, the wood grilled oysters. They were topped with a chorizo butter and green onion sauce. I love oysters and I feel like this preparation overpowered the flavor of the oyster, but it was a delicious bite with great flavors. We both opted for beef, my sister ordered the Ribeye with Mac and cheese and I ordered the Hangar steak. The ribeye was a large cut, on the thinner side, perfectly cooked to medium rare. This dish was served with a bone marrow Mac and cheese. She has had this in the past and stated the Mac and cheese is usually creamier, but this dish may have been overcooked. She enjoyed her meal but it seems that consistency fell off a touch here. I ordered the Hanger steak, rare, and it was so tender and perfectly cooked. I loved it, I would definitely try this cut again. The duck fat potatoes with it were a little different than expected, more like tater tots, but still good. The tomato salsa added nothing to this dish. The meats were spot on for both the entrees, but the pairing fell a little flat. I have already recommended this place to a few people based on the experience, I would definitely return to try more menu items, the excellence definitely outshined the few nit picks I have. Check it out!

This is a lovely restaurant decorated nicely inside, and the food was delicious. The rolls were fantastic and so were the beats. The squid ink pasta with crab meat was exceptional. The duck breast was good, but not stand out and I would not order it again. There was also some room for improvement on the desserts, but overall this was a a great dinner and I have no problem coming back.

Absolutely AMAZING!! This has been on my must visit list for their wood grilled meats but it was so crowded and hard to get reservations during city conference rush. Thankfully was able to make it and it did not disappoint! They even gave us a call before reservation time to check in with us which was thoughtful of them. When we arrived, party of 2 was sat at the 4 person table near the window during sunset which was beautiful. Service was beyond spectacular by Nicole!!! She was so polite and helpful from the very beginning with providing hot water (a whole kettle too!), menu recommendations, and even providing substitution free of charge when our order didn't come as expected. The wood grilled hanger steak was so affordable $36 and AMAZING-I have no comments, it's a must get unless you want to spend more to try other cuts of beef but this was already amazing and solved cravings for me. The grilled pork chops was sadly a bit too tough and chewy and not as much flavor which was disappointing and was able to send it back and replace it for something else which we chose another hanger steak. Our server was nice enough to switch it out and keep our sides. And the sides- the duck fat potatoes: AMAZING and so unique and yummy. The black garlic aioli was perfect dipping sauce. And I almost forgot, the Parker house rolls were AMAZING too with the honey butter perfection. If I lived here, it would definitely be my go -to place. A must try in the area!

I don't have words to explain this! All of it was so delicious, I have never had a meal like this! We started with the rolls and butter, my mouth is watering just thinking about them. They were soft and slightly salty which paired so well with the honey drizzled butter. Next we got the paella arancini. Unfortunately it was a bit cold in the middle but other the that it was all around DELISHHHHH! For the main I got the pistachio crusted salmon and my partner got the jerk chicken. The salmon was so tender yay it literally fell apart as soon as I touched it with my fork. Rhe jerk chicken really stole the show. It was Smokey and tender and the fried plantains that came with it were cooked perfectly!!!! Yummmmmm. I finished with th jalapeño cantaloupe marg off their signature cocktail menu! It was delicious and not too spicy! We got seated at the bar super quickly and the food came out timely! It is so beautiful inside, I genuinely wish I could try the entire menu!

Made reservations for a Tuesday night. Ordered drinks and appetizers. The old fashioned was better than the pumpkin margarita. The grilled oysters I liked but my husband thought the chorizo butter overpowered the oyster flavor. The Parker rolls are worth it every time. Got the paella arinici. They were delicious but it was hard to tell it was paella instead of just seafood. Great ambiance. Will definite return.

Dinner at Seneca was absolutely amazing. It was my first time there, I've been wanting to go for so long after hearing rave reviews from a bunch of my friends. Every single item was fantastic, even the ketchup which is house-made. The burger had that wonderful char-grilled taste. The pierogies would make my Slovak ancestors proud. The Parker rolls speak for themselves.

Loved the atmosphere and the waitress suggested the Chilean sea bass special that was to die for. My husband had the hanger steak and it was so tender. A lovely experience while visit.

Food was delicious! I was very impressed by their allergy friendly menu options (gluten free and dairy & gluten free). The drinks were tasty, too! Nice vibe, good lighting.

Came in on a snowy January evening. Had a reservation specifically for the bar. Not available. We were seated "near" the bar. We ordered beer because, sorry, $18-23 cocktails are just a bit exorbitant for me. We took a look at the menu and looked for all the delish Apps and Entree's we had heard and read about- no where to be found: where were the lamb lollipops, the noodles, the shrimp- oh well. The Waygu Burger was awesome- best burger I've had in quite some time. Decent place but loud. Brick walls, steel deck ceiling with nothing to absorb sound. Will return in the spring hopefully to an updated menu.

Beet Salad, oysters, and deviled egg with fried chicken. Yummy

My better half had a Cosmopolitan, which she enjoyed. Started with the charcuterie board (You choose a total of five meats and cheeses). For cheese we selected Burrata (cream filled mozzarella), Drunken Goat (goat / red wine dipped) and Parmigiano (cow / the real thing). The meats were Serrano Ham (dry cured Spanish ham) and Speck Ham (dry cured and lightly smoked Italian ham). OMG. Delicious. And the portions were on the hearty size. For a main I had the Mussels (garlic, butter, white wine, chili and fennel pollen). Another OMG. It was divine, and we had bread to soak up that wonderful sauce. We also had the Lobster Pizza (lobster, tomato cream, spinach, leeks, roasted cherry tomatoes, ricotta and grana padano). This was only ok. Not enough lobster, in my opinion. Overall, a very good meal before the concert.

The remaining slices were essentially on the darker side of well-done, almost burnt ends. For a restaurant positioned as an upscale dining destination on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, I expected much better. The quality of the steak was more in line with what I'd expect from a chain like Applebee's than a higher-end establishment. The service started out excellent, but unfortunately declined as the meal went on. By the end of the evening, we felt largely forgotten.

While I liked the physical ambience of the restaurant, there were an incredible number of houseflies buzzing around the restaurant, our booth and our plates. Our guests were literally waving their hands continually through the meal to keep the bugs off their food. The service was weak. Even though the restaurant was mostly empty, the waitress was slow to approach the table and check back on how we were doing. She spent a lot of time chitchatting with the bartender. Basic things like delivering an order of one of the house hot teas without honey lemon or teaspoon. I had to request each of them. The food itself was hit and miss. Two of us had the fish and chips with the house special tater tots. The fish was OK, although nothing special. The tater tots were actually a disappointment. They were powdery and dry on the inside and had an unpleasant texture in general. The other two guests ordered the BLT sandwich and the chicken pesto sandwich. No big complaints, but no big compliments either. All in all, a swing and a miss and we probably won't return given the other great choices in Saratoga Springs.

Honestly, they had a ton of potential, but they didn't deliver. The calamari was soggy instead of crispy. The balance of other items was pretty off. It looked pretty, but didn't taste good. The calamari was bitter in addition to being soggy. The balsamic glaze added a sweetness, but it wasn't offset by enough salty/spicy. It was served with a tomato sauce that didn't go well with the toppings. It was an odd dish. If it wasn't so late, I might have actually sent it back (which I do probably once every 10 years). Fresher, crispy and less bitter calamari might have been enough to fix the balance. My dinner companion had a sandwich with a bun, lettuce, apple slice, fried chicken, cheese, and bacon.
