My wife made reservations for us to celebrate our 12 year anniversary. I must say this place very nice for special occasions and they make you welcomed as soon as you walk in. It's not a pompous place where they are judgemental like most elegant places can be. They started us off with some nice S. Pellegrino bottled sparkling water. It was very refreshing to with a slice of lime squeezed. Afterwards, they asked us what type of drinks of we wanted. I chose to continue my sobering journey and went with unsweetened tea with a slice of lemon. My wife drink of choice was the wine the our waiter recommended. I don't remember the name so forgive me. Eddie V's is one of our favorite date night locations. Their food quality is consistent and of high quality. Both the hubs and I are creatures of habit. We normally order the same appetizers, meals and dessert, if we make it to that point. His: Main lobster bisque and salmon with spinach Hers: burrata and beet salad & Chilean seabass. The seabass was super moist inside and sear around the edges...perfect combination. We share the au gratin scalloped potatoes. One of our favorite items is the sourdough bread with the crispy crust slathered with butter. Everything is better with butter on it. Of course, I only eat the bread's crust not the soft part. It always comes hot out of the oven...so good. Service was superb! Our server, John, greeted us as we sat down and he kept checking on us throughout the night. My amazing friends treated me to a wonderful birthday dinner last Friday at Eddie V's. I think the last time I was there my kid's treated me to a Mother's Day meal. :-) As usual, the food and drinks were awesome and the experience was made even more special by our fabulous server, Tyresa Stephens! She was very attentive, flexible, and gave us wonderful ideas/suggestions. I shared a scallop entree with one of my friends and had a cup of their yummy lobster bisque. In fact, I think we all shared entrees amongst us since there were 6 of us and we added several sides and appetizers that we also shared: Calamari, asparagus, and brussels. The other gals shared the shrimp & steak entree. Tyresa brought us 2 birthday treats to share. Yum! The cocktails were beautifully presented from my espresso martini to the others (photo included of all of them in this review but I don't remember all the names of them). We've been to Eddie Vs on many occasions and it is always outstanding. Today, my wife and I got our motorcycle licenses after a grueling two days of learning. So a celebration was in order. In this visit we spared no expense. Had the shrimp cocktail, caviar, filet with lobster tails, wagyu strip with lobster tails, a 24 Karat cocktail and a smoked Old Fashion, plus the incredible crab fried rice. To end they made us a special desert and set it on fire, along with our crème brûlée. With tip, $525. Our server Farzan (spelling...sorry) was incredible. The pinnacle of attention and caring. It's quiet in general even when busy as it is a date or business dealing kind of place. An occasional large party may raise the volume. However it's always respectable. And for this visit, the wagyu and caviar were some of the best I have ever had. The caviar melted in your mouth and the warm blinis were amazing. The horseradish and Parmesan encrusted steak (cooked medium well...sorry) is literally the best steak I have ever had. I'm very serious. I've eaten at a lot of fancy places and all the way to Texas Roadhouse. This was the BEST steak. Juicy, tender, and everything you would expect from wagyu. But this one? Superb. While we may not always spend this much at this establishment, it was well deserved. read more

I wish I could give this place more stars! What a great experience from beginning to end! It was my birthday, and told them when made the reservation. They had a card and confetti already on table when we arrived. We were greeted by our waiter Fazan right away and was sooo pleasant and fun! We joked about having my birthday so close to Christmas. My husband was cracking jokes the entire time and Fazan thru it right back! I knew before we came what we wanted, but Fazan told us of the specials, which I might have gotten any other time, but for my birthday, I was set. We started with the seafood tower (*not really a tower for two people). But, came with 6 oysters, 6 shrimp, and a lobster (claws were hard to crack, and don't think anybody eats the head stuff..LOL), and the tail was split into two parts. It came with cocktail sauce, horseradish, some type of cream sauce, but the best was this lemon garlic sauce (*put that on everything)!! Then, for the main course, my husband wanted the 20 oz ribeye. That thing was HUGE! (he took half of it home). I got the filet and lobster tail with a butter sauce on the side. Both of the steaks were cooked to perfection, and sooo tender! I wanted the spinach cream side, but did not see it on the menu, but Fazan said we could still order it. So, we had that and the truffle mac and cheese (needed more truffle...LOL). Both of us had the "Smoked Old Fashioned" for drinks, which they bring table side and show the smoke, put the ice in the glass, pour the whiskey, add the orange slice, and add the bourbon cherry and stir! Great presentation by Fazan again! But the best part was the dessert! My husband wanted the Meyer Lemon tart (which was the only thing that was just ok). The evening could not have been better (well, unless it was free). The ambiance is always nice but then Marcus, our fabulous waiter, made the night even better with his knowledge of the menu, personality and professionalism. While in Austin, we had planned dinner at a nice restaurant however had to find another restaurant due to having a reservation early on! Eddie v's experience was so worth the visit! Before we got seated, they put extra heart decoration on the table and the girls got fliers since it was Valentine's Day! Stayed with drinks and the spicy margarita was so good! My husband likes old fashioned and I usually think it's too strong but this was amazing! The presentation was top notch! Appetizers/ sharing plates we had the siracha honey Brussels sprouts! Wow! What a trip down memory lane. 23yrs ago, this Eddie's location was our local, if you would. We lived in P-Ville at the time, so it was the closest high end restaurant we could hit up. We loved the Happy Hour where our bartender was a wonderful gentleman who traveled across the World on a regular basis. He would regale us with his adventures. It was nice to get reacquainted with the restaurant. Eddie V's always, I mean always has delivered for us. Tonight's occasion was my firms Holiday Celebration and the retirement of one of our long term colleagues. We unexpectedly arrived about 25 mins early. We were coming up from Oak Hill and reso's were at 6pm, on thursday. A challenge with timing on that with traffic. They were ready for us, so Suzie and I were guided to our table, right off the entrance, to a nice, private, cozy room for the 15 of us to visit. I was intrigued as to how Eddie's would handle a crowd like ours. With aplomb is the answer. The appetizers were already sorted and we had a limited menu with Steaks, Shrimp and Fish. There are no vegetarians in our group. Sides were also already pre-arranged. We started with Shellfish Towers, Prime Steak Tataki and South African Lobster. My goodness, loads of shellfish and although my Suzie is allergic, she happily noshed away on the Tataki. Shellfish were on top of a bed of ice with appropriate amount of dipping sauces. Presented with a lobster head in the middle of the plate. This was followed with either a Lobster Bisque, Iceberg wedge BLT or Caesar Salad. I enjoyed the wedge salad with the cutting bite of the Shaft's Blue Cheese and cool crunchiness of the wedge. I choose the 18oz Prime Bone-In New York Strip, Medium. Suz the 10oz Filet , Medium. We are always fully confident in ordering Medium steaks at Eddie's, since they get it right every single time. Can't say the same for other steak houses, who feel like we should eat our steaks rare, and inevitably send them back. Steaks were perfect and delicious. We paired our meat plates with, Truffled Mac & Cheese, Asparagus and for me the Crab Fried Rice. These are served family style, so everyone takes what they like. The rice and steak bowl I made for lunch the next day from leftovers was equally as impressive. Not to be left out, we enjoyed the Bananas Foster, get your phone camera ready for the display of fire poured over the Bananas. We also had the Belgian Chocolate Cake, rich, gooey and sweet. I looked around at my colleagues plates and noted a healthy portion of Chilean Sea Bass, no itty bitty 5 oz portion here. Everybody enjoyed themselves. It can be tricky to wait on a table this size, however our two servers whose name I forget, were stellar. Here when we needed them to be, popped in and out to make sure everyone was doing okay and knowledgeable about menu and allergies. The timing between, drinks, appetizer, salad, entree and dessert were expertly synchronized. For this amount of food, ambiance and service, coming in at $130 a person (not including tip/alcohol of course) I felt was a definite bargain. Some establishment's get it, survive and go beyond to make sure an experience is savored and remembered. About ten days ahead, I called to make a reservation for our group. Bernadette, the hostess who helped me, was incredibly kind and accommodating from the very beginning. I explained that one of our dear friends is very ill, and we were hoping to celebrate his life together. I asked--hoping, but not expecting--if there might be any way to reserve a private room. Although our friend ultimately wasn't well enough to join us, the team at Eddie V's went above and beyond in ways I'll never forget. When we arrived, the private room was beautifully set--the table thoughtfully decorated in a way that made the evening feel truly special. Our server, Mike, was exceptional--warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. He struck that perfect balance of professionalism and heart, making sure everything ran smoothly while also honoring the emotional tone of the evening. Tonight's date night took me and the Bean to the arboretum where we dined at the elegant Eddie V's. Beautiful restaurant!! Great music selections accompanies the ambiance. Or servers were awesome. From the host that greeted us, to the two servers who waited on us and ensured we were completely satisfied. Entree was the jumbo lump crab cake accompanied with fresh bread and butter which was super delicious!! We both had the 10 oz center cut filet mignon. This was in addition to the warm fresh bread and a nice bottle of Faust. Note: if you don't finish your bottle of wine they will re-seal it for you. I don't always go to Eddie V but when I do I get the big Eddie. With it being a large party and also my-husband's birthday we started off with two towers of seafood. Everyone said oh it's so much we won't finish........ let me be clear they finished and everyone was pleased. This is how you get a party started. The Big Eddie starts off with king crab, main lobsters, tuna Poke, Gulf shrimp and oyster. Hey you only turn 50 once. We were served by Forrest, who was calm, helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and humorous. The ambiance screamed super fancy, and I found myself trying to conjure up a snooty attitude to fit in when I usually scarf down street tacos like an animal on a daily basis. The filet mignon was delicious, the Brussel sprouts smothered in a creamy and mouthwatering sauce, and the Mac n cheese encased in a delicious cheesy crust. Everything tasted mouthwateringingly delicious. Finish it all with a delicious chocolate cake, cookies, and apple pie with ice cream for dessert, and I could barely waddle to the car. Worth it. Very disappointed w my favorite restaurant. The shrimp cocktail used to be impressive and worth the price. Post pandemic, the size of the shrimp are now average (20-24 count) at best and can easily be found at your grocery store. We were seated in the bar at a (reserved) high top table next to floor to ceiling windows that overlook the beautiful canyon below. If you don't like heights, this table's not for you! Even though we were only there for drinks and appetizers, Eddie V's had decorated the table with birthday confetti and a card signed by the staff. I couldn't resist ordering The Hope Diamond, a cocktail with Grey Goose Vodka, grapefruit liqueur, butterfly pea powder tea, and a diamond ice cube. Beautiful and tasty.
