My group and I tried several different dishes, and everything was enjoyable, but the Spicy Rigatoni is an absolute must-order! It was packed with flavor and easily the standout dish of the meal. The Mongolian Short Rib was also very good! Tender and flavorful but it could have used a little more rice since the sauce was on the salty side. Having more rice would have balanced it out nicely. The restaurant has plenty of seating both inside and outside, making it a great spot for groups or casual dining. We went here on Father's Day. The atmosphere was great. They have a giant porch/outdoor seating area which was comfortable. I loved that the televisions were high enough that they allowed people to watch them if interested, but didn't overwhelm the area with screens. They had outdoor ping pong tables too & a live guitar singer for entertainment. The server was attentive. Our food did take probably at least 30min to arrive. This place brought life to me from the very moment I stepped inside. To the right of me was the bar with plenty of people raising a glass to tonight's festivities! On the left is a huge glass window revealing the kitchen in operation. In the middle is the dining area. Through a door on the side is a beautifully laid-out patio with strings of lights, buttery-soft leather couches, multiple TVs, a ping-pong table, and other games. This place was bringing life to my sweet soul. I ordered the 36-hour ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs had a sweet, spicy, smoky flavored taste. The meat slid from the bone with ease. It was tender, meaty, and delicious. My salad was more than a side salad. The veggies had that nice, crispy texture: cucumber and tiny tomatoes, with Parmesan sprinkled on top. My friend got a hearty helping of delicious salmon, set on a colorful, tasty bed of veggies. Since both of our meals were so good, we split them with the other. We couldn't leave without a dessert. I almost got the usual dessert that I get from everywhere, the Monkey Bread. I'm glad the waitress suggested the Caramelized Banana Bar. Their menu has a substantial offering including salads and sandwiches to main entrées that are available at all times a day. Our server was nice, but wasn't very talkative. I chose the turkey Reuben on pretzel bun. The turkey was really delicious and that Reuben seasoning was excellent. The pretzel bun was good as well although a little thick. You do have a choice for sides. You can either do a french fry or a small salad I chose to go with the salad and chose Caesar. It was pretty small definitely not more than maybe a cup of salad. My husband got the fried chicken entrée and let me tell you, that fried chicken skin was amazing and amazingly delicious! Not only that, the chicken was incredibly moist and you can definitely tell that it'd probably been brined. Really excellent. And also comes with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The coleslaw was a little heavy on the mayonnaise side, but in all fairness, we are not big mayonnaise people. Biscuit was good as well. Maybe just a little bit dense. Potatoes were nice and fluffy. I can't seem to order anything else other than the spicy vegan curry when I go there because it's so good! They ordered salads with grilled shrimp but both were mistakenly brought out with friend shrimp. The server/manager quickly corrected the error and brought them a side of grilled shrimp that seemed more boiled than grilled. The weather was amazing that day so we were able to sit outside on the big patio and catch up easily with a seat at a booth type table near the street. There's always seating since the place is so huge, at most you'll wait 15 mins if it's crazy busy. For a fast casual spot, the drinks are kinda pricey but not ridiculous- especially bc they do make their drinks on the stronger side in my opinion. When I come here I usually just do a massive charcuterie board and call it a day- nothing else on the menu really does it for me like their charcuterie tbh. Making a reservation two weeks in advance for a party of 12 usually means you've done your part. Unfortunately, at Culinary Dropout, it meant settling in for a 38-minute wait past our reservation time and learning that punctuality might be more of a suggestion than a promise. To be clear, this didn't turn into a scene. No yelling, no bar theatrics--just a calm but firm conversation with the manager. That said, thank you for unintentionally providing my boss with a safe, public venue to release all the pent-up frustration from the Eagles loss. That emotional unloading alone probably prevented a much longer meeting the next day. Once we were finally seated, credit where it's due: the restaurant immediately shifted into recovery mode. Service sped up noticeably. Our waitress was sweet, friendly, and genuinely wonderful. Unfortunately, whoever assisted her delivered food as if we were part of a disc golf course--plates flying in hot like frisbees, accuracy optional, enthusiasm high. Appetizers: The pretzels were good, the cheese was fair, but the Brussels sprouts were the clear MVP. Crispy, sweet, addictive--basically carrying morale for the entire table. Dinner: I ordered the Mongolian short ribs, and they were excellent. Tender, flavorful, cooked perfectly. The bok choy was unbelievably tasty, the yuzu rice was spot on, and the dish itself far outperformed the night's opening act. My colleagues all enjoyed their meals as well. Final verdict: The kitchen absolutely showed up. The reservation system did not. That lands this at a forced 3 out of 5 stars. A strong finish helped--but couldn't fully erase a frustrating start. I went to Culinary Dropout with my husband on a Tuesday around 2pm. It was starting to empty out, but it was still busy enough. We were greeted warmly when we arrived. We asked for a booth and were seated right away. My husband likes how you can watch the kitchen while you're seated since they have the big windows. Charise was our server, and she was super sweet! She made sure we were well taken care of and would make sure everything was perfect. We order the soft pretzels & provolone fondue. The pretzels were just okay. Some were really crunchy and some were semi-soft. The salt didn't really stick that well to the pretzels. I probably wouldn't order the pretzels again to be honest. For the main course, we ordered the crispy chicken katsu with truffle fries and the shaved prime rib dip. These were the best sandwiches we have ever tasted! The milk bread on the katsu was so good. The whole sandwich was amazing! The prime rib was cooked so well, and it was just a super tasty sandwich. The fries were crispy and tasty as well. For one soda, the pretzels, and the two sandwiches, it came out to be about $74 for the both of us. After seeing our friends we entered the restaurant and met with a kind hostess. We requested outside seating but unfortunately they were full. However right before they were going to seat us inside a table opened up outside. Yay! So we followed her to our table. I noticed that the restaurant is really cool. It's like an indoor and outdoor restaurant. The outside is like a large covered patio with several places to sit. The inside also has a lot of seating and you can see the kitchen through windows. After being seated we were greeted by a cool waiter that took care of us the whole time. He listed out several recommended items, answered our questions, and let us know that the weekend brunch was available to order from. He then went to get us some drinks. After getting our drinks we placed our order. Because they were super busy we had to wait for our food to arrive for about 45 minutes. During that time we were approached by a very friendly woman that updated us on when our food would be coming out. I decided to go with Brunch because I love breakfast items when they are available. I ordered the Fried Chicken and Buttermilk Biscuit which comes with two sunny side up eggs and gravy. I requested that the gravy be put on the side. I tried the gravy but opted not to eat it with my meal as it tasted a little too salty for me. The Eggs were yummy. The yolk went all over my chicken and biscuits. The Fried Chicken was delicious as it was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The Biscuits were good. They were thick and buttery and perfect with the chicken and eggs. The vibes are definitely vibing here. The atmosphere is fantastic, and we usually choose to sit outside. Before moving to Austin, this was actually the very first restaurant we visited, and we were blown away. The weather that day was incredible, and between that and the overall atmosphere, the place has always felt special to us. I want to give a shoutout to the waitstaff we have had here. Every experience has been great. They are professional, laid back, kind, and genuinely make you feel taken care of. They are clearly experienced, and some are even funny. It is easy to strike up conversation or joke around, which adds to the overall experience. As for the food, I will admit I do not have a full view of the menu because I always order the same thing, the fried chicken plate. And wow. It is truly excellent and has been consistently great every single time. This is also a great spot for drinks, happy hour, or bringing friends and family who are visiting. The Domain gets pretty busy, but I was able to find parking in the blue parking garage nearby. Trent was our server and he was so friendly and came to check up on us frequently. We decided to share a fried chicken entree and a Mongolian short rib entree. Trent offered to have the kitchen give us both half a portion of each entree on our own separate plates, which was so thoughtful and considerate. The Mongolian short rib was so tender, juicy and fragrant. The fried chicken dish was a little too dry for my liking since it came with a biscuit and mashed potatoes, but the gravy on top did help a bit. When it came time to pay, we let Trent know that we had $10 off coupons since we joined their email list, and he got a manager to kindly apply our coupons.
