    Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue

Would definitely come back here because we had a great experience. Came with 5 of my friends for our little trip and it was our first time being in The Domain area or Austin. The service was fast and there were plenty of cocktail options as well as food on the menu. The drinks were very aesthetic and still strong at the same time. The food was hot, fresh and yummy. We sat outside and it was still breezy and had a good amount of air flow plus we could hear the live band or cover but still have a good conversation within each other without feeling like we were yelling. Really recommend this place to large groups too. Very positive vibes here!

Went to culinary dropout on Friday and it was quite busy for lunch. In saying that service was very average and also the food took about 30mins to come out. It was very hot and uncomfortable outside. So it was not fun. The food was good though. Maybe they were having a bad day.

Another great meal at Culinary Dropout...I met a Yelp friend and a sorority sister for Happy Hour. Our servers were attentive and super friendly. We were delighted to run into Sky again. We had a Yelp event in the Domain tonight and this was a perfect location to hang out until the event began. We ordered the garden salad, Shrimp crispy rice, and soft pretzels and cheese fondue. The salad was crisp and fresh with tangy ranch dressing. The Shrimp crispy rice was soft and crispy simultaneously...so good. The pretzels were soft and flavorful. The cheese was a nice complement to the pretzels. The restaurant was fully booked and packed to the brim. As with the last visit, the patio was fully booked for a corporate event. Although restaurant was busy, customers were prioritized. The restaurant was a bit noisy but alive.

Its quite fun on a Friday evening. Quite relaxed and ton for activities for kids to do. We waited about 30 minutes to get a table outdoors. We were allowed to bring our pet, which was huge. The food was okay, but it took a long time to get. However, the ambience made up for what food and drinks lacked. Our server didn't check in on us once the order was taken. Perhaps she was busy. There was live music, and because we were celebrating our son's birthday, the singer sang him a song and that was super special

This place brought life to me from the very moment I stepped inside. To the right of me was the bar with plenty of people raising a glass to tonight's festivities! On the left is a huge glass window revealing the kitchen in operation. In the middle is the dining area. Through a door on the side is a beautifully laid-out patio with strings of lights, buttery-soft leather couches, multiple TVs, a ping-pong table, and other games. This place was bringing life to my sweet soul. I ordered the 36-hour ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs had a sweet, spicy, smoky flavored taste. The meat slid from the bone with ease. It was tender, meaty, and delicious. My salad was more than a side salad. The veggies had that nice, crispy texture: cucumber and tiny tomatoes, with Parmesan sprinkled on top. My friend got a hearty helping of delicious salmon, set on a colorful, tasty bed of veggies. Since both of our meals were so good, we split them with the other. We couldn't leave without a dessert. I almost got the usual dessert that I get from everywhere, the Monkey Bread. I'm glad the waitress suggested the Caramelized Banana Bar. It's praline mousse with a cornflake peanut butter crunch and vanilla crema. Now I'm not a big fan of peanut butter. So at first, we ordered one, which led us to order two. I had to have my own. But the more I think about how beautiful and fun this place is, I want to tell you a little more. What makes this place so wonderful is that the restaurant is glass from floor to ceiling, think of a garage made of glass. Also, there's a Live Music night. And for you fellows, they have a Monday Game Day Bundle! Well, for parking, no need to worry! This place sits near all the parking garages! So go here, eat heartily, drink well, listen to music, play some games or watch a football game, and enjoy!

Dec 16, 2025 review ----- I've tried this place 2-3 times. Really huge place with both indoor and patio seating options. Vegetarian options are limited so be aware about that. We got the soft pretzels with provolone fondue. Fondue comes hot and pretzel are coated with se salt, really good combination. I like the pretzel as little hard from outside but soft inside. It was enough quantity of pretzels to share among 5 people as appetizer. For 2 people it maybe be more filling. Location is premier as this is located in domain and close to the parking lots. For the main course, there is only vegetarian option - spicy vegan curry. I asked the waiter for more options but I was told that this is only one they are most confident with for vegetarian. So I went ahead with it. It has griddled Sweet potatoes, eggplant, snap pea, bol choy, mushroom and black rice. They were able to remove the mushroom and add capsicum instead. Decent portion size for one person. You can give it a try if you want to try something as a hot bowl in this area.

We arrived on time for our reservation (not sure if these are required or not) and were seated quickly. We were not rushed in placing our orders. Drinks were kept filled. I ordered the Southwest Breakfast Bowl. Definitely white girl spicy (aka just enough for a nice kick but not enough to take away from the flavor of the dish). Located within walking distance of my hotel in the Domain, it was a perfect location. Especially in the beautiful spring weather.

Turkey Pastrami Sandwich with Caesar salad

We stopped in here for lunch on our last day in town because it was nearby our hotel. Their menu has a substantial offering including salads and sandwiches to main entrées that are available at all times a day. Our server was nice, but wasn't very talkative. I chose the turkey Reuben on pretzel bun. The turkey was really delicious and that Reuben seasoning was excellent. The pretzel bun was good as well although a little thick. You do have a choice for sides. You can either do a french fry or a small salad I chose to go with the salad and chose Caesar. It was pretty small definitely not more than maybe a cup of salad. My husband got the fried chicken entrée and let me tell you, that fried chicken skin was amazing and amazingly delicious! Not only that, the chicken was incredibly moist and you can definitely tell that it'd probably been brined. Really excellent. And also comes with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The coleslaw was a little heavy on the mayonnaise side, but in all fairness, we are not big mayonnaise people. Biscuit was good as well. Maybe just a little bit dense. Potatoes were nice and fluffy. I also got the peaches and rye cocktail, which is exactly as it sounds Rye bourbon with peach purée. Very easy to drink and great on a hot day.

We stopped here to catch part of a game and have some snacks. Menu items are on the pricey end, and are salty, heavy, and well presented. We ordered a Charcuterie board (pay per item, ours was $30+), and the pretzel bites with Provolone Fondue ($17). Staff is super stylish and nice. Located in the Domain.

CD is always a good place to meet people for lunch. I met some friends here last week and we sat outside. They ordered cocktails (espresso martini and a spritz), but I just had water that day. I can't seem to order anything else other than the spicy vegan curry when I go there because it's so good! They ordered salads with grilled shrimp but both were mistakenly brought out with friend shrimp. The server/manager quickly corrected the error and brought them a side of grilled shrimp that seemed more boiled than grilled. The weather was amazing that day so we were able to sit outside on the big patio and catch up easily with a seat at a booth type table near the street. I'm sure I'll be back here again soon as it's a convenient spot in the Domain to meet and usually easy to get a decent table!

    Nachos up close
    Robert P.

Dropped in on a warm, late Thursday afternoon in November. Nice warm Thursday. Sat at the bar, and ordered two draught beers ( there were two of us ), and the nachos. Service was excellent with very friendly bar tenders and service folks; very attentive and good natured. Drinks were brought in a timely fashion, as were the nachos, both were wonderful. As a side note, the rest rooms are well maintained and clean as well. Recommended, will be back.

Bring all my friends here when they come and visit as a nice wind down from a day of shopping at the domain. There's always seating since the place is so huge, at most you'll wait 15 mins if it's crazy busy. For a fast casual spot, the drinks are kinda pricey but not ridiculous- especially bc they do make their drinks on the stronger side in my opinion. When I come here I usually just do a massive charcuterie board and call it a day- nothing else on the menu really does it for me like their charcuterie tbh. Pimento cheese is an obvious must but I have to say the deviled eggs are nothing special. Honestly just stick to bread, cheese, meats, and a side of olives and you can't lose.

    Vanessa Z.

I've always passed by this place when visiting The Domain and finally dropped in this time! We were there for drinks and dessert after dinner, and our server recommended the Monkey Bread. It was DELICIOUS! The mildy crunchy exterior paired perfectly with the warm interior of the bread with just the right amount of sweetness. Will definitely come back for this!

From the moment we sat down, the service set a phenomenal tone for the meal. Our server, Avery, genuinely took the time to ask what we were interested in, thoughtfully guiding us through the menu with recommendations that were, frankly, unbelievable. Every single suggestion was spot-on. As for the food, every dish that arrived at the table was a masterpiece: The Brunch Plate: A beautifully classic, elevated breakfast. The sunny-side-up eggs were cooked to absolute perfection, seasoned with a light touch of pepper and spice. Paired with perfectly golden, crispy hash browns, savory sausage, thick-cut toast, and a rich fruit compote, it was a flawless, hearty start to the day. The Beet & Citrus Salad: A vibrant, refreshing standout. The earthy depth of roasted red and golden beets paired wonderfully with bright, juicy citrus segments, creamy crumbled cheese, and fresh greens. It was beautifully balanced, incredibly fresh, and a perfect contrast of textures. The Pesto Pasta: Absolutely spectacular. The pasta shape held onto the rich, flavorful pesto sauce perfectly, which was tossed with fresh spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and tender chicken, all finished with a generous dusting of parmesan. It was savory, comforting, and packed with bright, fresh flavor. Between the flawless, attentive service and the phenomenal quality of the kitchen, they made this Father's Day incredibly memorable. We will absolutely be back!

Vida Verde Kitchen -- A Hidden Gem That's Worth Finding…read more Austin is overflowing with trendy restaurants where the food is decent, the lighting is aggressive, and the wait time requires a light snack and a personality shift. I tend to avoid those places. Vida Verde Kitchen, thankfully, is not that. Tucked into a great area but slightly hidden (the kind of spot you feel proud to "discover"), Vida Verde feels like a restaurant that exists for people who actually want to eat, not just post. The menu is a thoughtful fusion of Tex-Mex, fresh flavors, and Americana--familiar enough to be comforting, but creative enough to keep things interesting. Yes, it's a bit overpriced, but the food earns its confidence. The guacamole is an absolute must, and anything leaning Tex-Mex is consistently solid. I can vouch. The wait staff deserves real credit here--knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in the food and experience, which goes a long way these days. The atmosphere hits that Austin sweet spot: industrial touches softened by lush green foliage. It's stylish without trying too hard, which is rare and appreciated. If I had one note? This place needs a happy hour and a few more solid specials. Do that, and Vida Verde becomes dangerous--in the best way. Overall: a unique, thoughtful restaurant that avoids the hype trap and delivers where it matters. Definitely worth your time (and thankfully, not hours of it).

We were seated in the back and were given a chance to order drinks immediately. Sadly, the service after that point was unusually slow for our table. The rest of the people around us were getting served appetizers and their meals before our waitress even came back to take our order. The prices are a little higher than the best Mexican spots in Austin, so I'm glad that I wasn't paying for this meal. Once we were given a chance to order, I grabbed their Quesabirria tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were great. Super crispy and the meat was flavorful. The consomé was excellent to dip the tacos in. The beans were pretty good and the rice was decent Mexican rice, though not exceptional. I would maybe give it another chance if I was nearby, but after having to wait so long to order, I'm a little deterred from coming back, even if I thought the food was pretty good. The interior was classical steakhouse and the waitstaff was dressed in a white dress shirt and dark slacks. Dark mood lighting with mostly booth seats and a full bar. Two separate multi-user men and women restrooms. The service was outstanding! We were promptly welcomed and seated by the hostess. Claire E. was our server and took great care in serving us. She was pleasant, friendly, and very accommodating! She recommended some of the specials for the evening. She had a great personality. Again, outstanding and the others helping were were great (5/5). Steak Tartare: 5 oz of hand chopped raw ribeye and strip steak, tossed with red onions and capers, dressed with lemon, egg yolk, and herbs. Served with toast points, fresh arugula, and spicy sambal on the side (5/5). This was chef's kiss outstanding. Spinach and Artichoke Dip with Salsa and Tortilla Chips: Reggiano, artichoke hearts, tortilla chips (4/5). 12oz Prime Rib Au Jus: Rosemary salt crust, served au jus. We recommend Mashed Potatoes for your side (4/5). A great cut of prime rib. It was flavorful and delicious. Bartlett's Pear Martini: St. Germain, Grey Goose Poire vodka, Candied pear (5/5). Wow, this was very tasty and sweet. The Candied pear was fire! Come check them out! Support your local business.

Although they do not have a happy hour, there are appetizers and cocktails for noshing and sipping. Service was friendly and top notch. Our server came and checked in frequently. The restaurant itself is dimly lit and has both a bar area and dining area. We opted for the bar area since we were not fully dining. We did order steaks and a Caesar salad. All were delicious. If you haven't been, it is worth a stop.
