We always have trouble getting delivery on the westside for some reason, but not with these guys....Larry, our new favorite store manager, was extremely friendly and provided great feedback on their selection. I am amazed by the extreme lack of professionalism and customer service at this establishment. Two employees were working, and our food took an hour and twenty minutes to be prepared. During that time, both employees went outside to smoke, and every time we asked about our food, we were told that it was "just coming out." Also, besides our group of 8, only about 6 other people ordered food while we sat and waited. They all received their food and left by the time we received our food. Myself and my family walked in a couple of nights ago. First time eating at Eddie's. The lady that took our orders was very, very nice and helpful. My little girl wanted a cheese pizza and it wasn't on the menu. But the lady said they would make her one with no problem. We ordered our food and it came out a few minutes later. The owner/manager no doubtably works his butt off. Every time I've been into his business he's always working regardless for the time. Tonight I walked in around 1:20 am not expecting much but I slow Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. He had 4 extra workers with him tonight. I ordered the "BBQ steak" zone as well as tipped $5 because I know it's rough working nights. My $5 basically went to me watching the staff shoot the sh*t for 30 minutes while they even go to smoke a cigarette. 5 people on deck, Tuesday night as slow as could be, and my zone still proceeds to take 30 minutes? It's almost as if they were trying to make it go slower because as the minutes started getting into the 20's they kept looking at me as if they knew what was going on. I've worked at 2 pizza places which also make customized calzones, it take 15 minutes MAX if we're backed up and throwing multiple zones on at a time. Instead of paying those "presentable" employeees $7 an hour he should cut the staff down to 3 people a night with higher wages so that they freaking work harder. This business would be better if he was a better businessman. 2 stars because the guy works hard, but not every hard worker is a good business man. read more

The place was totally empty of people upon arrival. The choices of calzones was extensive. We chose steak and mushrooms- combo. On Tuesday they are 2 for 10 dollars. This seemed reasonable. Calzones are subpar for Athens-quality food, but I suppose that might be expected for a late-night quick service establishment. I have dined in once and ordered delivery 3 times. Delivery is pretty quick (owing to the lack of business). BUT if you ever order something after the calzone is made (ie a different sauce or a garnish) it will not be delivered. I ordered a different sauce 2 times and BOTH times the calzone was delivered with the "normal" sauce. I wish I could like this place, being a college student and someone who enjoys late-night delivery, but unfortunately at this time I can say there are far better establishments to order from who deliver the requested order for a similar price and a better quality. If Eddie is really trying to establish himself in Athens he needs a lot of work. I know it worked in Columbia (USC), but here it's a different style. Not to mention, when I called in and spoke to the manager that my calzone (that I picked up...on a Wednesday) was with a different sauce than I requested, the manager told me to "come in tomorrow and I'll hook it up," very unprofessional. Especially for the reason that I did not "come in tomorrow" (who eats fast food/late night delivery night-after-night??) the employees had no recollection nor a note in the system that I had a incorrect order or anything of the sort and refused to give me a different sauce without charge. All-in-all, I am disappointed in eddies. I was expecting quality ingredients and an acceptable calzone in a college town (not a lot to ask). I was greeted with disjointed managers and sub-par quality calzones that did not even manage to provide the proper sauce NOR CUSTOMER SERVICE that I hoped a downtown Athens location might provide. But I guess you can't expect much from a place that hires anyone fired/quit from another late-night food establishment in downtown Athens. Edit: plus the fact that they only have (highly up-charged) bottles of coke/sprite/anything is also a major deterrent. If you are hoping to go here to dine-in you will be sadly mistaken when the only beverages they offer are bottles. I mean if you want water, you have to pay for a bottle of Dasani. If you want coke, you pay for a bottle of coke. There is no ice and no refills. For me, that's is a MAJOR takeaway from the store. There are not even cups with ice that they provide. It is all bottles. Come on, Eddie. You need to reevaluate what you're trying to do here if you want to be successful. And I know that this concept can be a runaway concept here, however the management/way you're going about it only will lead to displeasure and failure in your current business model. read more

Once I ordered delivery and I guess because I was paying in cash and they were busy, they just never showed up with my food. Also, 3/5 times, I requested no bacon and there was still bacon in the calzone. I don't eat bacon, so my order was a waste of money. Wait times are crazy for a calzone. There isn't an option for a minus star..Tonght after a very long day at work we decided to give Eddies a try. We opted for delivery the ordering process went well until time for the address..after mutiple time telling and spelling my address I forgot to tell him the apartment number .gave him my credit card number with no problem. .but he wrote the phone number wrong. At an hour we called to check...After 30 more minutes again with the third call we were told they would remake our order and add a two liter..10 mins later our order arrived..not enough time to have remade it. This all started at 8:20 pm when the order arrived 10:20 pm..I was too tired to even eat..and no two liter..Go elsewhere. I'm a fan of small food establishments, they generally put in hard work to stay above the rest ! But after one trip, I'm not happy at all. Came on game day and expected a clean restaurant with fairly fast service. Not quite ! Took a while to be greeted, sadly that left me time to just look around at all the filth. The kitchen was a mess, flies all around and the only restroom open was the ladies.... it was gross, and the door wouldn't close! The calzone? Nothing to write home about. This place is awful with terrible customer service! I ordered 2 calzones for my daughter and I. After waiting for an hour, I called back to see when the food would be delivered. The person answering the phone said they didn't have a phone # for me and could not make the delivery. Pissed at this, I just decided oh well I will not do business with them again. Then on top of that, they went ahead and charged my credit card. When I contacted them back to dispute this, they said since they didn't have the phone number but had made my food, I would still have to pay for the food, which was never delivered. Why didn't I check Yelp before ordering? I was very disappointed. When I discovered there was an alternative to the typical late-night pizza fare I jumped on it but kind of wish I'd just gone with Pizza Hut instead. My order was missing at least one of the ingredients (eggplant) that I paid extra for, and the bottom was so oily/soggy that it collapsed when I picked it up. They didn't include the blue cheese I paid extra for, and for $9 I was expecting more than a jazzed up Hot Pocket... the experience was just sub-par all around. I'd also avoid their online order-placing system, their site is buggy and double charged me but they corrected the issue - just call if you're still considering this place, it's much more reliable and efficient. read more

I used to support this place until the last time I ordered delivery. I always felt their delivery was sketchy so I always paid in cash once it arrived, but this time I didn't have any cash. So I figured using my card once would be okay. I was wrong I called and placed my order, gave my credit card number and my location. All went smoothly, and I was told it would get to me in 30 minutes. 90 minutes later it still had not shown up, so I called again. This time I was told that it was on the way. After another 30 minutes, my wait time was at 2 hours. So I called again, and was put on hold. After spending 10 minutes on hold I hung up and gave up, because at this point it was 3AM. I would have gone into the restaurant to complain, but I had to leave Athens for the break, and didn't have time to complain, and figured it wasnt worth the 10$ to deal with. A couple days later I went on to my view my debit expenses and saw the charge was changed from 10$ to 14$. So not only did I never get the food, but I was also charged a 4$ tip. Plenty of variety but the food was horrible and all tasted the same. I got the sausage fest and my girlfriend had the mac n cheese calzone yet somehow they both tasted purely of salt. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I ordered 2 calzones one night. They were delivered. One was fine, while the other had about 5 or 6 long hairs in it. Not what you expect when halfway through eating your calzone. When I called to report this, the person on the phone pretty much called me a liar. They said there was no way there was hair because he checks every calzone before it leaves. It was a hassle and customer service was terrible. Last night, my friend ordered 2 more calzones to be delivered. They were never delivered. She called to try to get a refund at least and the person on the phone was rude, told her she was lying, and that she picked up her calzones in the store. When she requested to speak to the manager, Eddie, the owner, answered and continued saying they were picked up. He was very rude and disrespectful. No refund was given, no calzones delivered. Probably for the best being that there may have been clumps of hair in them. Bottom line, if you want crappy customer service, hair in your food that may or may not be delivered, and to repeatedly be called a liar, go here! Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I've had 3 different calzones from eddies over the past few weeks. None of them were all that impressive, but I still came back for more. The appeal of eddies isn't culinary masterpieces, it's quick delivery with unbeatable late night hours and "ok" food. Don't order a calzone for delivery on a game day- It will take an eternity and you won't be refunded or offered any coupons or discounts for a calzone delivered 3 and a half hours after it was ordered. One last note- eddies should definitely lower their prices. $5 calzones every day would bring them a heck of a lot more business as opposed to the current $8.50. If papa johns and Pizza Hut can make a large pizza for 7.99 then you should be able to make a calzone for less. read more

I am Eddicted (Sorry I couldn't help myself) to Eddie's Calzones. Every Tuesday my co-workers and I order from Eddie's and take full advantage of their 2 for $10 special. It is a steal of a deal and SOO much food! This shop is no Branded Butcher by any means, but it does offer quick, cheap eats (that are quite obviously not frozen garbage or already cooked then thrown back into the oven to be warmed back up) and for that we are more than pleased. read more

Was excited to try the buffalo chicken calzone; however, it was horrible! The outside of the calzone was hard(almost too hard to eat) while the inside was undercooked. This is one of my favorite late night spots and after reading the yelp reviews I feel compelled to say something. The calzones are definitely quality. If you want some sort of truly authentic Italian masterpiece then go to Italy. At Eddies the crust is always crispy (unlike D.P. Dough), the toppings are always flavorful, and the service is always prompt. This isn't fine dining, it's delicious quick service Italian. At this point I'm addicted to the Chicken Bacon Ranch and have never had any sort of issue with my order, accuracy or timing wise. Give them a shot if you're downtown late night, or craving some delivery after work. These guys, while not flashy, will never leave you unsatisfied. read more

I honestly don't know why the reviews of this place aren't better. My food got to my house right on time, it was exactly what I ordered, and it was a fair price for both the quality and quantity of food that I received. I don't know what the other people who reviewed Eddie's were expecting. The bread was way better than D.P Dough (and don't get me wrong, I like D.P Dough too, but if it's better at Eddie's that's just how it is). They said that the delivery guy couldn't find the apartment (address and phone number were given!!) so he just drive back to the restaurant. After the guy finally came back to give us our food (2+ hours), our calzones were cold. We called and Carson/Karson gave me an attitude because I was upset....then instead of offering a refund she said "put them in the oven" and hung up. I was really excited when this place opened up due to the variety of stuffings they offered for their calzones. I also really liked their pricing system that includes tax in the price (I think more places should do that). I was also pleased with their prices and specials. However, I was seriously disappointed after ordering my first calzone. It was nothing more than a glorified Hot Pocket. If I wanted a Hot Pocket, I'd go to the grocery store and buy a Hot Pocket, ya know? Now I either go to Little Italy or Pouch instead of this place. read more
