Found this place near our hotel so stopped in late on a Friday The place was pretty empty so service was great - our waiter was Marcos. We split everything since I wasn't that hungry but really these portions were huge...even just for tacos. We settled on the three El, Pastor steak tacos, and chips and salsa with queso. Everything was extra good so even though this place was a bit pricey imo, it was worth it since you really get a lot. We got the Cadillac Margarita also to split and it was great too. read more

10 out of 10 would highly recommended, I lived out of state, and if I get the opportunity to visit Rochester again, this would be my first and only stop. The customer service is so lovely, my waiter Marco made me feel at home the owner was so sweet, you can tell he is really passionate about his restaurants. I got the Birria Raman, best I've ever had no lie, the birria had such amazing favor, not fatty meat, the Raman was cooked to perfection. Spicy mango margarita was the best I've had at any restaurant, the fruit was soaked in tequila. What a difference a year makes. I was disappointed this time in the service and the food. No one came around and asked if we needed refills on chips, salsa or even refilled my water. The fajitas didn't have much flavor and I didn't think was worth the $25.99 I paid for the portion. Love the atmosphere and decor. Service was great! Good was amazing. Quantity and quality were both equal! The only sad part which is minor is the guac. It was very acidic but no other flavor. Could use more salt and tomatoes & onion. Would definitely recommend though because the 7 seas seafood soup filled me up. I barely made a dent. The food was really good. There were so many other items on the menu that looked really good as well, can't wait to go back. Amazing amazing amazing food! Incredible staff - and the owner was the SWEETEST and came to the table to see how we were doing. I cannot stress enough how delicious the Birria Tacos were. You dip them in the most delicious broth ever and the insides start oozing cheese and tender shredded meat. The free chips, salsa - and FREE QUESO- was amazing too (I think the free queso is a lunch thing). My son loved the taco and fries kids meal- the meat was high quality and French fries were epic (and we might have dipped them in the queso!) Best thing about the place was the decor. Very festive. Loved the monarch butterflies that were painted on the ceiling. It is advertised as authentic Mexican food, but they must gear it towards the Midwestern pallet. It was good and nicely displayed, but I found the food rather bland. Also thought the portions smaller than most other Mexican restaurants in town. (The beans and rice part) I had the chicken chimichanga which was good and had plenty of chicken. Seemed to be grilled rather than fried so hopefully it cut down on calories. Very fast and friendly service. Wish I would have tried the flan. Looked delicious. read more

What a fun place! Looking ahead at the menu, I noticed lots of versions and variations of food with Birria meat, but the one item that stood out I haven't seen anywhere else was the BIRRIA PIZZA. Went in to place a takeout order of a Birria Pizza and was not disappointed!! This pizza had 3 tortilla layers + 2 beef layers + cheese which resulted in absolutely satisfying deliciousness! There was no searching for meat or cheese -- lots of both! -- and everything was balanced across every tortilla. Loved the acidic lime to balance the rich and savory flavors. My only comment about the pizza is about the radish garnishes -- the thick cuts were not pleasant on my palette (to be transparent: I have a like/hate radishes to begin with) but if they were sliced thinner (or swapped out daikon instead of the radish) I think that would be a better result for me personally. Absolutely amazed after our first few bites - this has to be the most authentic and delicious Mexican food we've had in Rochester! Cal had birria nachos, and the plate was generous, beautifully presented, and tasty! I chose the tacos de la birria, and we both agreed that they were as good or better than tacos we've had in Mexico - The service was attentive but not smothering, and Anne made us feel like we were guests in someone's home...we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but we really liked that - it's bright and colorful, and seemed to be very clean. The music was loud enough to be enjoyed, but we were able to have a quiet conversation and enjoy ourselves. We love Mexican food, and this is sure to be a place that we visit often! Eddie's is the FIRST sit down Mexican restaurant we found that meets our high standards for quality. We visit often and have never been disappointed. The chimichanga is deep fried, as it should be! The food here is incredible. I ordered the birria ramen, and birria tacos and they are both so delicious. The consomé that comes with it is so rich and flavorful, I would drink it straight if I was alone, and it was so good I might do it anyway. I ordered this to go and even reheated, it's incredible. We tried this restaurant after hearing about the hype. It was average but better than most mexican restaurants in town. The food was under seasoned although the queso was great. The real disappointment was the birria. It lacks flavor and the quest birria tacos were so thin. I'm from the west coast where birria is everywhere, For the high prices, I definitely expected bigger tacos. The service and ambiance was great. No bakery items and $10 for tiny dessert.
