The windows had sludge and mold around them and the table was sticky, The booths had ripped upholstery and had a strange smell. The food disappointed. 2 burgers and a hot dog cost us $52. They came with fries or onion rings. Onion rings were ok but the burger was depressing. No flavor and theres NO WAY that flat tasteless piece of meat was 1/4 lb. We are new to the area and stopped there after passing it up several times. If you want a good fried anything it's for you. The onion rings are really super! It is an older Diner and it shows all around the Dining Room. The place is pretty dirty! I suppose the kitchen isn't so clean. The service is nice. Cook is nice. I have lived in GP for about 4 years and have wanted to try this spot for a while. Went in to pick up my takeout order and was instantly shocked by how dirty it was, had a very pungent smell as well and not a good smell. Floors were filthy. That being said, the lady who ran my card and handed me our food was very pleasant, even including extra sauce and napkins. Burgers were decent but nothing to write home about. But the fries tasted like they were fried in very old oil. It's a shame because from the outside it looks like it has lots of potential, but they've gotta get that cleanliness under control. read more

Calm, knowledge waitress that if I had to guess, has been here for quite some time. Asked me if I enjoyed my meal. Great big fresh burger. Believe it was the Summer burger. I liked this place. Cranky, older waitress who's probably been waiting tables since she was a teen. Far more interested in visiting with her townie redneck friends than waiting on me...... and when she finally waddled over to my table she had a major attitude and talked with that raspy voice that many life-long smokers have. Reminded me of greasy spoon diners back home that I loved. Who cares if the waitress is surly so long as the food is good.... the burger Eddys served up was amazing. No frozen hockey puck burgers here! It was actual fresh chuck molded into the shape of a THICK burger (x2) with all the fixings. That was one really great burger! Fries were also very good and all at a very reasonable price. This is a little hole-in-the-wall cafe not exactly on the main road to anywhere. I used to go to Eddys frequently. Hadn't been there in some years. Decided to try it about two weeks ago at about 5:00pm. Place was empty. Ordered a cheeseburger, onion rings and a bowl of chili. Everything came at once. Burger was dry and the bun was cold. Got about 4 onion rings. The chili tasted canned and the onions were large slices instead of diced. Cheese was almost nonexistent. This place is very deceiving! We were traveling thru and couldn't decide were to eat. Stumbled across Eddy's and were seated, the place looked kinda hokey, we were the only ones and staff was wearing mask, so obviously we couldn't see smiling faces. After we sat our server was really nice and helpful. Food came out quickly, I got the French Dip, it my go to sandwich and I have eaten them all over the country. This one was like none I have ever seen, it was served open faced, the roast beef was 2 thick slices of meat on a roll that kinda looked like a hot dog bun. After dipping it in the au jus sauce and taking a couple bites, I realized it was really good. It came with fries and on the table was a small salt shaker labeled amazing French fry seasoning. I put that on every thing it was good. Marlene got the mushroom chicken sandwich and onion rings. She liked it and then I had some of her onion rings, they were really good, the batters onions were soft and the onions were flavorful. We've been searching for a new burger place for awhile and this is it! Best burgers in Grants Pass for sure! Funny enough, I rarely even order a burger here because their chicken sandwiches are the best I've ever had! Good fries, great sandwiches, and the ghost pepper aioli really amps up the flavor. They use really good buns and grill them properly, and load them up with fresh veggies. The always friendly service helps too. Sometimes we order to go and they bring it out to our car which is really appreciated. Highly recommend! read more

Asked for light sauce and it was completely overloaded with it and way too much guacamole for the too small burger and bun. Asked for extra pickles and there were two slices. Everything was mush and falling apart, yet remained tasteless. Not worth the price at all. Onion rings used to be large and delicious. The ones I got were small and tasted old. And given that the place is really kind of like a dirty little dive, really old and worn looking, I found the high prices weird? 15 bucks for a burger and fries in a little divey burger joint with zero ambiance? The lettuce brought out for another burger at our table was shredded, brown and wilted (gross). The food is served picnic style on a little plastic basket with paper lining, which again, does not jive with the high prices. We walked in during primo lunch hours and it was dead empty. Our first time in after years of passing it by. Not sure how or why we never ate here, but tonight we were pleasantly surprised. With street construction up front, we questioned ourselves if this was the right night. That said, in we went. I had their big (half pounder) bacon cheese burger (called a '57 Chevy if I remember) and wifey had their BBQ burger with crispy straw onions and honey bacon. She wasn't up for the feast I wanted so she stuck with the 1/4 pound patty. We both had their hand-battered onion rings and a trip through the salad bar. André treated us kindly and was super helpful considering it was our first time. Our burgers were super tasty and juicy. My 1/2 pounder (which is a nice thick patty, not two 1/4 pound patties stacked) was excellent and cooked mid-rare to order. The beef comes from a trusted source and is fresh not frozen! Wifey's burger was also great as well as the hot onion rings. After our meal, we noticed they have a fresh pie case with a selection of home-made pies from a local bakery chef. Wow, we were too full for dessert, but got two slices to take home for later. All in all I really liked the place and the charming "diner" interior. I'd have given 5 stars except for the slightly wilted lettuce in the salad bar and the floor was a bit dirty. Easy fixes if management is reading this. We will return. Trust... read more

This place is really hard to judge. In all honesty the burgers are Awsome, bread get super soggy from me he buns not being toasted but they are pretty good. The real big issue I have with the place is it is dirty. Tables and booths are sticky, with old food stuck on seats. Menus are sticky, as well as the tables. Despite my last vary bad review, decided to give the place another try. Same rude waitress, filthy restaurant, food is shitty, greasy and way over priced, especially when you have to listen to ALL the waitresses complaining. She ruins everything about the Eddys burger experience. My husband who is a little more forgiving and went back. I was on the phone with him and I could clearly hear her in the background, complaining and just a shitty tone. That's bad for business. I tell everyone what a miserable person she is. Ok now.. Just a quick update. ... Eddy's has new FRIENDLY faces, New menu, and a new owner. This place smells amazing. A buddy came here a week ago and said "you gotta go" So here we are. Yup different menu.. all looking good. New'ish' interior (a work in progress). Looks like they're going for a 50's theme. NEW HOURS TOO!! 8 Am - 8 Pm. I ordered the 57 Chevy Bacon burger 1/4 # burger on toasted bun. Kinda plain, (any adds Cheese, sautéed veggies, grilled onions, shrooms, carrots?, each for buck x-tra.) The Seat on the meat was great, and they have a unique seasoning added. Real good. Wife had the Eddy's Quarter Pounder with cheese & grilled onions. Added onion rings & fries to complete the meal. I would change out the buns to something more Artisan. All in All ? Improvement from before, and we look forward to return Friendly staff. Make you feel welcome. read more

Great service but that's about it. Now for the not good. First the place is dirty inside. They really need to clean their floors, doors and baseboards. Not having a drive thru it forces you to go inside and it wasn't pleasant. Second food was eh. Burgers were frozen not fresh made, mediocre burger. Onion rings also were frozen and not fresh made. What makes the difference? Onion rings made fresh will cut apart when bitten. Frozen ones just pull out of the coating when bitten and do not bite apart. Pastrami was 3 thick slices and overly salty, very disappointing. French fries were soggy and they package everything together which makes all food soggy. Grease from some foods soak into other foods and dog them when packed together. Won't be going back. read more

We used to go there often, but since the previous owner left, it has really deteriorated. Our last visit I found hair UNDER my scrambled eggs so we haven't been back for several months, until today. Today we were nearby and decided to try it again. This definitely is our last visit. I ordered a Patty Melt , that should have grilled onions in it. What I got were cremated, BLACK onions, dripping in grease. I mean, like, I picked up my sandwich and the grease was just running out of it. My husband ordered a club sandwich (which was good) with onion rings which were overdone. The service was good, but we were greeted by a small child who brought menus and got our drinks, I asked for ice tea with lemon, but was told they didn't have lemons. I asked for our table to be wiped, and the boy did so. The waitress was prompt and polite, but was wearing a sleeveless T-shirt with a Saloon logo from another State. There are plexiglass dividers between the booths, that have big smears, and filthy corners. Rips in the booth seat upholstery. Water damage (?) / mildewed or rotted baseboards. It's all looking pretty shoddy. This used to be a 50's style diner, R&R music, photos and models of vintage cars, great food with a lovely salad bar, and tasty shakes and malts. They no longer serve breakfast, I didn't see a salad bar, and now the food is over priced, given the quality. We miss you, Eddy. read more

I had the 57 Chevy, it was pretty good, my only complaint is I like my bacon crispy, but I'm sure if I would have requested it that way, they would have cooked it longer. This place leaves quite a bit to be desired. It's interior needs quite a bit of TLC. Big holes in the booth seating, dirty looking floors, a sub par bathrooms. The service was quite poor. Just two young people and a chef. We were seated and then promptly forgotten. Ended up having to go to the counter to 'ask' if we could finally order. Sadly there was only two other tables already in there and eating...so it was poor handling by the staff. The food was alright but far from great. . The steak and eggs came out with the steak sliced into 5 pieces( not typical), and Luke warm, but the hash browns were too hot to eat. The fries with the burger came Luke warm and soggy. Overall a very disappointing experience especially since they have had good reviews and were recommended on so many local web sites. All I can say is good luck.
