Had a terrible experience with this company, and apparently I'm not the first. I feel duped, and will never order from them again.

Terrible customer service, terrible company! Was told their policy is 14 business days to receive my bulbs (spent hundreds of dollars), which is basically nearly an entire month. Waited 15 business days, which was close to the time window to submit a dispute, and I still was not sent a tracking number! Nobody picks up the phone, nobody responds to several emails I sent, so I had to lodge a dispute with my payment method (Paypal). Disputed the charge, and that was when someone responded to the dispute email, but no one bothered to respond to the 5 emails I sent prior asking about a tracking number. Eden brothers excuse about the items is they "were still in Europe, and they could not tell me when they would be able to ship to me." So why not respond to my 5 previous emails and say that? There is a window to plant these bulbs in the fall for Spring time. I was refunded and grateful to find another company that sent me a tracking order immediately and then sent my bulbs very quickly after (Easytogrowbulbs dot com). The Yelp reviews are all SO terrible here for Eden - wish I had seen them before I ordered from here. Thankfully I got my money back. read more

Yikes! I too missed these reviews. They have one review on Google with five stars. There's no way now to leave a review on Google because they are listed as permanently closed. Received a bulb with all the tubers missing right out of the box. I called to get a replacement, they can't give a replacement for only one because it was in a bag of three. I asked to send back the bag of three and get a replacement bag of three, they won't do that either because they are bulbs are not returnable. Pretty sweet deal, they can ship you out poor quality and not give you a refund. They either have poor quality control, poor shipping policies, and most definitely have poor customer service. I will say the woman on the phone was friendly enough as she told me their insane policy. read more

Beware dealing with this company. They shipped perishable bulbs to me a month before they were supposed to knowing I would be out of the Country and unable to receive and plant them. Yes, I have it in writing that they would ship the bulbs on a certain date. Now they will not respond to numerous e-mails related to this. If I could give them Zero stars I would. Their Facebook reviews are equally horrendous as Yelps! I placed my order weeks ago, no one responds to emails, there is no phone number to reach anyone. I tried to take it up with PayPal with zero success. I am now filing a claim with my bank and will also be contacting the BBB. Stay FAR away from this company. read more

80% of what I ordered from them failed to grow. I ordered 5 Elephant ear "bulbs" from them and only 1 grew. I've been planting these (procured elsewhere) for years and they are usually quite firm "bulbs". Given the late winter weather this year, the local places were sold out by the time the temperature warmed up so I had to go online. Eden Brothers' arrived mushy and from the start, I thought "Hmmm..." But, given it's they're industry I took them on faith that they wouldn't send out a bad or defective product. I guess that wasn't the case. I emailed them about it and haven't heard back as yet. But when I saw this on their website, I'm thinking the odds are pretty slim that I'll get any satisfaction. "...Bad weather, poor timing, and basic human incompetence can all lead to unanticipated and unsatisfactory results." I ordered 8 elephant ear bulbs. 5 Diamond Head and 3 Mojito. Of the 8 only 3 came up and I took great care to plant them properly. I have a "green thumb" and have been an avid gardener for years, so I typically don't have any issues with plants. Bulbs from other vendors came up fine. 1 of the mojito came up. 2 of the Diamond Head came up....however, they are NOT Diamond Head. They should be purple and they are most definitely green. So, I have no idea what they actually sent me. I reordered from a different vendor and recieved 5 Diamond head plants, which look great combined with yellow canna. Unfortunately, it was too late to reorder the Mojito from the other vendor, as they were sold out. I should have read the reviews prior to ordering. I placed a substantial order on November 5th, and received NOTHING but daily spam from them until I contacted them on December 7th. They had taken my money, but apparently had no plans to ship my order. It wasn't until I threatened to file a complaint with BBB and a fraud claim with my bank that they FINALLY sent my stuff. I did get generic "update" emails that they had received a shipment late and would be sending out my order soon....but still nothing. Waited and inquired about my order....nothing. TERRIBLE Customer service! I ordered eight packets of seeds, flowers, and they were all sent to me in generic envelopes with no pictures of flower nor planting instructions. When I called them, they told me they were working to upgrade their packaging. The best they could do is offer me 10% off on a future order. Sent them a message which triggered several email back and forth with them wanting more and more information. And it seemed that they were not reading the information that I was sending. Have purchased and received dahlias that were rotten and unviable. I've received three packets of seeds that were not viable and never sprouted. When contacted about the dahlias being rotted, I had to send a picture of the mess they shipped in order to get a refund and even then they questioned whether they weren't any good. The gladiolus bulbs I received were much smaller than those purchased from other bulb companies. Eden Brothers clearly spends a lot of their resources on marketing, and I would recommend they spend more on the quality of the products they sell. I will not buy from them again. I have ordered multiple times from Eden Brothers and I have zero complaints or issues. Some of these other reviews are quite poor, but I don't know Eden Brothers to be the company that they describe. Everything I have received from Eden Brothers has been in excellent condition and successful. For example, we ordered several wildflowers seed mixes last year for a brand new (never planted) field, so it was obvious whether the seeds germinated well or not. We had a spectacular wildflower field thick with flowers, plus butterflies galore! We took great care to give them a good and proper start. It was a huge success. We also planted over 300 crocus bulbs and they came up like champs, too. Their customer service has been responsive and helpful when needed, as well. Well, having wasted time and resources, I realized that what they sent me were likely cardamine (bittercress / or something else from the cress family). Shop elsewhere, especially if you are doing so online. Customer service is nonexistent. Emails will be answered only by an automated responses which come nowhere near answering your concerns. If you try to phone, you will connected to voice mail, with no indication of when to expect a return call. I placed my order 2 months ago and still nothing. I purchased 25 giant allium bulbs during the summer 2017. When they came, I was surprised at how nice they looked, no mold or anything on the bulbs themselves. I planted during the summertime, which I knew I shouldn't have done, but I couldn't wait til the Fall because I was traveling and would be away for several months. In the past two years, I have bought a lot of dahlia tubers and Bulbs from Eden Brothers. I found the products from the company in general are healthier and more viable compared to the ones I got from other stores. Recently I bought myrtle's folly dahlia, and I was able to start them indoors and grew 10+ plants from two tubers received. Now they all bloomed beautifully. Not only they have good products, the company has a Superb customer service team. I have contacted them a few times through email, and they were always responsive/responsible and solved my concerns/questions/requests in very timely fashion. For the tuber/bulb that didn't come up, or in some cases incorrectly labeled, they either immediately sent replacement, or issued me store credit. I ordered a few elephant ears from Eden Brothers on April 13. The calendar for when they would be shipped stated that they were currently shipping at the time I ordered. It's now May 1 and not only have they not shipped, but after 10 emails back and forth and offering to come to the store while in the Asheville, they: (1) still don't have them in stock, (2) can't tell me when they will have them in stock, (3) tell me they ship in the order that they received the orders, but can't tell me where I am on that list, (4) have offered no apologies, and (5) have not offered to wave shipping or otherwise make me discount the purchase. So, I canceled my order and went with another vendor. I highly advise that you do the same. read more

Really bad company. I placed fall bulb order in May 2021, and knew that the bulbs would be shipped in the fall (mid-late september). I sent an email to the customer service team on September 27th asking for shipping updates. I got a canned response about how they ship based on zone and would get an email shipping notice when it did ship. A week later - nothing. Sent another note. Got the same canned response. By October 25th, I finally called to get an update, and was told that some piece of my order was no longer available, so they hadn't sent the order. So my $200 of bulbs was not shipped because one type was not available, causing me to miss the opportunity to actually plant these bulbs. Then, they say they can remove the missing items and ship out my order today. Fine, go ahead do that. But then, they said they can't refund the missing items to my card but could send me a check or send money to my paypal. It is an absolutely absurd company and I would never order from them again. read more

The seeds I purchased germinated but the plants were weak and didn't flower or produce vegetables. With the exception of a few wilted, tiny flowers, that came from about 500+ wildflower seeds. I planted seedlings purchased elsewhere that thrived. It must be the seeds. read more

I haven't been to the nursery personally but I've had nothing but great experience ordering from their website. I ordered two mixes, one shade mix and northeast wildflower mix. Both were pure seed, no filler. You really need to sparsely spread the seeds because it is very easy to overcrowd a garden. I could have easily spread the seed over two to three years it was that bountiful. The mixes are very diverse but there are still plants that grow more fruitful than others which can easily drown out a smaller plant. So spreading the seeds far apart will fix this. I was overzealous and bought 1 pound of each seed variety, a quarter pound would have done just fine. read more

Absolutely amazing place. I've never seen so many varieties of tomatoes, peppers, flowers, herbs, fruit, etc. in my life. It is a seed store. There are no plants, so keep that in mind. I purchased 1/4 lb of sunflower, morning glory, zinnia and beets. The germination rate was 0 for beets and morning glories and less than 10% for the sunflowers and zinnias. Went to local Lowes and purchased sunflower and zinnias and am now enjoying the color and variety I paid for with Eden Brother. Don't let the price suck you in. You get what you pay for. read more

I live quite a long way from Eden Brothers, but I thought they sounded like they would have a lot of the plants and products that I am looking for to do my spring planting. I wanted to see if they had a couple of items in stock that I was looking for, before I made the long drive to go see them. I have called numerous times in the last two weeks, and no one has ever answered the phone. I only get a recording that says to leave a message, and they have never returned my call. They have never returned even one phone call. I don't think I will be doing business with a company that has such poor customer service, and such a lack of respect for their potential customers. the only reason I'm giving one star...is because YELP wouldn't allow me to give no stars....first of all...we are a small organic vegetable farm....I found Eden Brothers located in NC..since this was "semi-close" to me, I thought I'd give a try at "local seeds". FIRST: Upon receiving my order...I find NO EXPIRATION DATE is printed on their seed packs....so...upon calling them and inquiring about this...I am told they are not required by any "standard" to provide this. So how are you to know what you are buying? I found after trying to germinate each kind of seed I purchased that approx 30% germinated...after 3 weeks....this is SLOW....SECOND: Eden Bro's do not provide any kind of a "cash/credit, etc. refund"...but you can get "their in-store credit"..or more seed. Poor refund policy, and I should have read their website's "our guarantee policy" which is located on the very bottom of their page, easy to miss. However, they do not tell you about the NO EXPIRATION DATE on their seed packs. They say this is "impossible" for them to do....say what? I see that their "refund policy" is on their website? My bottom line experience, they should not be in the seed business if they cannot provide an expiration date...AND....stand behind their product. First time buying through Eden Brothers and am definitely going to them for all my future garden purchases. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, spoke with Emily over the phone and ordered a couple pounds of a pollinator mix (Bee's Knees) for my home garden. They showed up earlier than expected and I managed to plant it in the ground before things started getting cool. Now I'm looking forward to the blooms to come in Spring! They also had a wide variety of other plant seeds and garden supplies that I intend to take advantage of in the coming months. Not as advertised. Since I now live close to Eden Brothers decided to stop in their warehouse/store and give them a try. Got about 15 dif seeds. The Autumn Beauty sunflowers were supposed to have a variety of autumn colors and on their packet it showed about 10 different cultivars, about 95% were a common yellow variety. Planted some Russell Lupine and once again about 95% are all a pale violet instead of at least 7 different colors/cultivars posted on their label. I've grown these in the past and they aren't the intense colors of Russell. I'm wondering about their size too and think they may have given me the dwarf seeds in the wrong packet Got several varieties of kale, watermelon radish, cabbages, broccoli, brussel sprouts... did some side x side comparison with other seed company's seeds, and Eden brothers were by far, the most disappointing of plants in all trials. Not as good germination in some cases, and in all cases the plants of identical cultivars were smaller than some of the other seed companies. Won't be buying from them again. read more

Purchased Spring flower mix. I live in Central Texas , so your suppose to plant the seeds in fall . As I did, I see they already emerged from the sandy soil I have. Glad at least they are good seeds, but now I'm wondering if they will flower too early and be a waste of my money? I have a spring pasture that I love seeing all the flowers bloom in the spring not fall and winter. read more
