    Beef and pork tacos

Despite being less than a mile away, I got delivery from these guys today. Because I can! When I asked, they said the minimum was $15, but I get the feeling there might not be strict enforcement on that. I got a call about 20-25 minutes after my order from the delivery guy, asking me to text him the address because he couldn't find it. I had the food in hand about 30 mins after my order, about an hour faster than the Papa John's located across the street from these guys. I'll take it! On to the food! I'd been curious for a while what mariscada (seafood soup) tastes like out of a truck in a gas station, so I finally bit the bullet and ordered it up. For only $11, I figured it was worth a try. The verdict: While I'd love a Cinderella story here, to be able to tell you that this mariscada out of a truck was the best mariscada ever, um, no such luck. Don't order mariscada out of a truck. The only type of seafood in there was prawns and oysters. The prawns were shell on, a sea of black eyeballs and several-inch-long, orange feeler things poking up at me out of the tupperware, and the oysters looked and felt unappealing enough that I couldn't bring myself to eat them. Also, the shells were kind of grimy and gross. I had a few sips of broth and that was enough. Luckily I also got backup in the form of tacos, a beef and a pork. Delish. And eyeball-free.

They're the best food truck in the area. Their tacos are the best in the area. Been coming to their spot for 2 years and the quality has never changed. It's a one woman show and she gets it done ! It's always best to order ahead as a lot of people do show up randomly so wait times can get long. Get their fish tacos as they are the best. Come with avocados and this delicious green sauce

The carne asada with rice, salad, and pupusa with cabbage...Delicious and only 11$!

Steak tacos are pretty good here. The cheese Pupusas are also really tasty. Not too expensive either.

DC Empanadas specializes in gourmet empanadas, but there were only four options to choose from (Divine Swine, Latin Beef, El Greco, and Speedy Gonzalez [all cheese]). $3.50 for each empanada or you can pick any 3 for $9. ***. Divine Swine (pulled BBQ pork, featuring the No. 5 sauce [smokey sweet] from BBQ Bus Smokehouse - $3.50): Empanadas itself wasn't too bad - tasted slightly sweet with crunchy dough. However, $3.50 is a bit pricey for one empanada and you will probably still feel hungry even if you get 3 for $9 deal. *** I will still stick with empanadas from Los Angeles (Tito's Market in El Monte or Red Ribbon Bakeshops) as they are both good and inexpensive.

None was particularly impressive, but I WAS impressed with how much sauce they managed to put in there. For example, I really tasted the buffalo sauce for the chicken one and I was amazed at how Americanized it tasted. There isn't much service to be provided here, but it could really use a step up. The guy taking orders had a don't-bother-me look and never once made eye contact or smiled once. He's the same one frying the empanadas, and he does it without wearing any gloves or anything-right after he handled the money. Sigh.

I would describe them as a combination of classic and elevated Latin food. The vibe of the restaurant is very casual, but the presentation of many of the dishes takes it to another level. They also have a wide selection of beer and wine. I have had tacos, octopus, breakfast tacos, and tamales. Everything was flavorful and quite tasty. I will admit service was a little slow the last time I went, but given the weather and the fact that we weren't in a rush it wasn't a big deal. If you haven't been yet, you should go. The colorful presentation reminds me of Palette 22, and rumor has it they are expanding to the Ethiopian restaurant that closed next door. I hope that's true!

Could work on those fried plantains as they were a little soggy. The quinoa salad was good, a bigger portion would have been nice for the price paid and maybe if it would be easier to eat if served in a bowl. The chorizo sandwich was okay. Presentation and bread could be better. We left curious about their regular menu so we may give it a try some other time. Their staff were nice but not very knowledgeable about their menu items. They didn't really know how to answer my question about their vegan tres leches and told me it was not actually vegan after indicating it had condensed milk and heavy cream.
