He did what he could to fix the tire and we were on our way again extremely grateful for the help that we received. Went back to the shop, the owner called the mechanic into his office who told him that it was broken before he worked on it. Which didn't make any sense, because it wasn't broken, and also the gas gauge is literally attached to the fuel pump that they replaced. The owner then said that he believes his mechanic and that it is basically their word vs mine. But said that he would be willing to charge the hours of labor getting to the fuel pump to "take a look at it" and charge me for the "new" repair and labor costs. If the gauge was really broken, wouldn't they have charged me to fix it or at least notify me of it, while they already had the car torn apart? Sounds like the mechanic didn't want to be responsible for a huge expense due to his mistake, and the owner wasn't willing to eat the costs for the fuel gauge they broke. Dishonest at best. Very sad that they choose to destroy trust and a life long customer over a couple hundred dollars.

I was impressed with his closing request to bring all our other car repairs and maintenance services to him. You can tell he cares about customer satisfaction as well as his customers safety. I'd expect he'd request any extra services if you needed them but he won't use the scare tactic a lot of other chain mechanics use. Upgraded to 5 star. Ken called me up a couple weeks after the service to make sure everything was good.

He did not call. That alone is reason not to trust him, but the unprofessional manner in which he handles himself both in person and in response to this review is unacceptable. He argued with me via Yelp message instead of accepting responsibility for his part in all this. Absolutely not okay. The issue here was that the work was not communicated properly and magically you charged the Exactly what their budget was.
