I'm a 73 year old guy and then over 50 years of having people work for me. This is by far the worst company I have ever seen when you call them tge girls they have attitude they act like don't like you don't believe a word you say . They act like they hate their clients I bet you I have wasted about $20,000 worth of water because they couldn't figure out a flow valve and other valves weren't working ...they didn't even notice it..... then they just shut off my service without telling me because my credit card was switched to a different number after the number was stolen ...and they claim they called me and they never called me once because they have my cell phone.... They just shut me off. They do not give a good god dam about their clients. How did they shut off my service ive been paying them perfectly for years .. but they also shut off my valves when I looked out my pool was totally green now I'm faced with having to refill the pool and fix it up ... there are plenty of good companies in the valley. My advice is for you to research anybody but them and plenty will offer a competitive pricing. That's my opinion. This might be the first bad review I've ever written. read more

My husband and I interviewed approximately five pool companies and decided to go with Edgewater to do our pool and landscaping. We are extremely pleased with the work. There was never a lapse of crew being onsite. The project was completed on time. And our backyard looks like a resort!! We had a great experience designing our pool with Ryan but when the project got handed over to Dan, it went downhill fast. Dan is the most unprofessional person I have ever met. We scheduled a meeting to better understand the cost structure and 15 minutes in, he was yelling at us (literally) and upset that we asked too many questions. How can any business expect customers to sign a contract for $300,000 and not ask questions??? In my experience, there are only three reasons for this: 1 - you don't know your own business and are embarrassed you can't answer questions; 2 - you are hiding something-in this case over inflated prices; 3 - your just a jerk and don't care about your reputation or business. In any case, none of these are acceptable. When he stood up and leaned over the desk to yell into my husband's face, that was it. We walked out and will never do business with him...and I encourage everyone to stay away from this company. read more

We have mixed feelings about our pool. We live out of state so designing from pictures online was challenging, communication went through several chains and emails would come back from a different person on each reply. The reviews on here are accurate, I would avoid this company. I went through the company to design my backyard and they did an ok job (not great) you can clearly see where the turf is cut, amount other things. However, after the job was completed I reached out about irrigation leaks that are clearly visible and they told me it was because of my neighbors irrigation and I don't even have a neighbor. These guys are jerks. I spent a month coming to terms with them on a pool project and we came down to the last item, which is their contract. They told me I could propose an amendment to their contract. I invested time and money drafting a 1 page amendment with minimal changes to the contract and then they came back to me and said that it was their way or the highway. It was rude and unprofessional. It was also dumb, because they blew a huge sale just so they could get off on their own pride. Here are some items I found to be concerning in their take it or leave it contract. I am not an attorney, but proceed at your own risk: 1) They will ask you to hold anyone under your direction responsible for damages, but Contractor shall NOT be held responsible for damage caused by Contractor's agent or Contractor's employees. 2) They will ask you to warrant your soil conditions beyond your actual knowledge and have the right to penalize you if the warranties you are required to make regarding your soil turn out to not be true. 3) Your guarantee on the pool is void under any transfer of ownership, even a legal transfer under your common control. 4) Change orders are $1000 a pop and they'll charge you a 22% mark up on "extra work". 5) THEY WILL NOT AGREE TO A GUARANTEE MAXIMUM PRICE. Additionally, if you run into hard soil on your project, they can charge you upwards of $300/hr to remove it. Most pool contractors can do it for $200 as of the date of this review. 6) They'll give you something to sign, that is required of them by Nevada law, saying that you acknowledge you can request they do certain things to protect yourself from legal liabilities. But if you request that they do any of those things, like I did, they'll tell you to take a hike. 7) If you have a legal dispute with them, and they win, you have to pay their legal fees. 8) They can stick you with a 10% penalty if you withhold payment in the event that they don't fulfil their obligations in the contract. My personal recommendation is that you read the contract thoroughly and seriously consider the risks you are taking on. If you find problems with the contract, like I did, my experience shows that they are not willing to work with you on resolving these concerns. read more

We had Edgewater design and install our pool in 2017. They did a fabulous job and met all the goals. The pool has been fantastic and is the showcase of our home. Last year we had Edgewater install a variable speed pump to save on power. We were able to save 60% of power over the fixed speed pumps. During the hottest day this year the new pump refused to start. I spoke to Edgewater and they were able to say it was seriously broken and needed to be replaced. It would all be covered under warranty. Then came the bad news. Jandy was back ordered for the pumps and were having trouble getting resin due to Covid. They said "October". Edgewater to the rescue. Alejandro (our contact) said he would try and find one. I also was willing to take a used one until one could be found. I also had suggested to use our second pump, which powers the water feature. Alejandro came out and tried to get the old one going. No go. He then said he's getting us a new one and would be back tomorrow! Whoa! Sure enough, the tech arrived and installed us a brand new jandy pump in about 1 hour. We were back! This whole process took about 5 days. Edgewater was able to get it done and me, my family and my visiting friends are ever so grateful. These are your pool people. From design, to implementation, to maintenance. Well done! read more

We decided to use Edgewater Custom Pools and Landscaping since the builder of our home, Toll Brothers, uses them on their model homes. We weren't having a pool installed, we wanted our rear yard to be landscaped and paved with a built in grill. We met with Michael Faulkner immediately after closing on the house last July 2020 and he showed us the design he came up with. We were happy with the design and authorized them to do the work as soon as possible. We were returning back East and were not going to be home while the work was being done. We returned in November and the pavers and built in grill looked wonderful. As soon as we returned to Las Vegas, Rigo, the landscape supervisor met with us at the nursery and helped us pick out trees and plants for our yard. Within 1 week, the trees and plants were done and our rear yard was complete. Rigo is professional and extremely knowledgeable. He gave us his opinion on what plants/trees would be suitable for us (low maintenance and no mess). He suggested tweaks that would be better for us, i.e., instead of solar lights, use LED. He was AWESOME! We then started to focus on our courtyard and front yard. This time we had Stephanie Lewis as our designer/salesperson. She was also great! She listened to what our vision was for the courtyard. We knew we wanted a water feature in our courtyard. We decided on getting a water fountain for the courtyard with lights. She designed the courtyard so that it would be a "tropical oasis". Rigo once again provided his input and the courtyard came out beautiful. The fountain is on a pedestal of pavers and on a timer so the lights come on in the evening. We chose tropical plants that could survive the heat and once again, lighting was added along the pathway leading to the front door. We even added a patch of turf to our courtyard. We just absolutely LOVE it. Now on to the front yard. We were limited as to what we could plant in the front as it's dictated by the HOA and your home model. Nonetheless, boulders and plants were added with just the right amount of lighting. To give it character, river rock was added. We were impressed. Of course it didn't end there..... Now we wanted the side wall torn down so we could create a path from the side of the garage to the driveway so we could wheel the garbage bins out without having to have them go through the garage. Jobe was done just fine. Lastly, we decided to go back to the backyard and tweak it a bit. We decided to add a patio cover over the built in grill and wrap the outdoor fireplace with stone as well as the patio cover posts. Once again, Rigo was supervising the job and he was on top of things. It just came out beautiful!! Yes, there were a few delays due to COVID. Certain items were on backorder due to COVID. But I can't blame them for that. Every time I had a question, I would text or call Rigo and he was ALWAYS very responsive. So was Stephanie and Michael F. Overall, we are very happy with the result and use them for our weekly landscaping maintenance. We would highly recommend them. If you get Rigo to be the supervisor on your job you will be extremely happy. Don't be afraid to ask him for his opinion. Remember, a designer designs, but it's the person who is out there doing the job that ultimately knows what's best. read more

We set up a date and time via email to check service at my home. No call or no show during the date/time provided and after Edgewater Pool received an email and voicemail they responded by stating the next day their tech was at my home an hour after the timeframe and let himself in my side gate to asset the pool while taking a photo of the pool and "leaky" pipes. Interesting as we just purchased the home and had an intense pool inspection and now there's a leak? Yes! After you entered my home with out permission! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! This is the worst business I've ever paid money to. And I paid a lot of money to them. Dan & Mike Edgington (the sons of the company founder) are angry, disrespectful, and don't ever like to be held accountable for mistakes or sub-par work. Here is a list of the things that created friction between me, the customer, and them, the pool builders : 1. Their workers got grey gunnite spray on the exterior stucco and stonework of my house. (I had to argue with them to repaint the stained areas) 2. Their workers got gunnite (or cement) boot prints all over our backyard pavers. (I had to argue with them to power clean it) 3. Their workers got Bobcat (mini bulldozer) tire tracks all over our driveway pavers. (I had to argue with them to power clean that) 4. I complained that a worker had pissed on the side of my house (they hadn't brought a porta-John....for a 3 month project...I had to argue with them and actually SHOW THEM A PICTURE OF THE 'PISS TRICKLE' ON THE SIDE OF MY HOUSE to get them to bring in a porta-john.) This alone should be enough reason to look elsewhere for a pool company. 5. They installed an Endless pool machine and left packing foam inside the mechanism. (I found it 3 years later, wedged in the fan, when doing a repair.) 6. When I needed repairs on the Endless pool machine, they took 6 months to help fix it (only after I got The Endless Pool Company...who licenses them as an installer, to guilt them into being obligated to help...as they were licensed installers of the equipment...and should be willing and able to do rudimentary repairs) 7. Their weekly pool service person broke the plastic flange of one of our water features. (They refused to fix it, saying that the pool guy's pole-brush couldn't've broken it.....even though one of their other service techs saw it and said, "he probably hit it with the pool brush".) I called to ask them to fix it. This culminated in Mike Edgington screaming at me on the phone, and ending any further contact with me. I still have a 3 months pool service owed to me. (I recorded the phone call of Mike screaming at me and will post it here, after I check with my lawyer. On the call, he was still complaining about how much he hated building my pool 4 years ago). He's such an angry man that he could easily tap into a 4 year old temper tantrum.) I've never been more disrespected by any people or company that I've ever paid for a service. (It is also the most expensive thing most people will pay for....besides buying a house) Check the many Yelp 'low star' reviews from people that were also yelled at and disrespected by Mike & Dan. These angry men do not deserve your money. They have many good reviews, but god help you, if you wake the raging bears inside those Edgington Boys, by holding them accountable for mistakes. This is a company that you would be paying $70,000-$150,000, and have at your home for more than 3 months during construction. Do you really want to risk that kind of experience, when you can find another pool company that isn't run by a couple of unpredictable rage-aholics? And once you start a pool with lunatics, you don't have a lot of options to back out, once they start screaming at you. If customer service is important to you, when making a $90,000+ investment, you should look elsewhere. Could you imagine someone at a luxury car dealership screaming at you when you were buying a car? That's what working with Edgewater Pools will feel like. (Especially, if you care more about 'making sure they don't make mistakes', than you care about 'coddling their very fragile egos'.) Yelp doesn't allow for 'negative star' ratings, otherwise I would give them "5 Black Holes".....because they sucked the light and joy out of what should've been a fun experience, when building a pool for our new home. I don't know why Mike and Dan are so angry. Perhaps they didn't want to have to build pools, when they grew up. Perhaps they wanted to live on a commune and grow vegetables. Perhaps they didn't realize that people who spend $100,000 on a pool want everything to be perfect, and don't want workers pissing on the side of their brand new home. Just know that I didn't write this review, after they finished the pool. (I had them doing my pool service, because the pool was under warranty, and their guys knew my equipment). But after Mike Edgington refused to fix something his employee broke, and yelled at me on the phone today, like a lunatic, I realized that he doesn't deserve to continue this ridiculous rage-filled abuse, without at least being held accountable for his behavior on Yelp and other outlets where consumers can avoid this kind of bullshit. read more

I called on a Monday morning to let them know my pool pump wasn't working. I was told to google Edgewater Custom Pools -- insane -- to find their website to make a warranty claim. So I'm on the phone with them and just asked, can't you tell me the website name? Of course not. So by 9:30 AM I put in my request for a warranty claim. I received an email letting me know they got my request and would respond within 24-48 hours. 48 hours come and go without a call so I call. NOBODY can tell me anything. Call again the next day and still no results. I finally get an email telling me someone from ANOTHER company that handles the warranty work on my pump will call me. EDGEWATER DIDN'T TELL ANYBODY ABOUT MY ISSUE UNTIL THURSDAY! That's 4 days without my pool pump running. That's 4 days after my initial notification! I ended up calling the warranty repair folks today and they are coming out tomorrow. No guarantee it will be fixed because the warranty repair folks don't stock parts, but at least they will help. I'm very disappointed in Edgewater! They completely refused to answer my calls and that's disturbing, considering that my pool pump isn't running and my pool is DOWN. I did get an email from Chelsea but she ignored my further inquires. read more

This company built my parents pool 20+ years ago, and it was important to me to contract with a company with longevity in Las Vegas and I knew would be there should we run into any problems down the road. We received quotes from a few other builders in the Las Vegas area, but ultimately chose Edgewater due to the professionalism and longevity. We had a vision of what we wanted and their designer and experience brought it to reality, and made it even better than what we could imagine. The workers were respectful and showed up when they said. The office was great with communication and let us know what to expect along the way and the superintendent was always there to answer any questions we had. We are building a home in a new community. The builder has some deal with them to get a pool in before closing. We apparently got the short straw of sales people. Michael Faulkner is the WORST sales person. If you can get him to respond he acts like he's doing you a favor by working with you! It's unbelievable to me I guess Michael and Edgewater have plenty of money so treating new prospects like shit is nothing new. I am actually an owner of sales related business and if any of my employees treated clients like Michael Faulkner treated us I'd fire them. We had an in person consultation with them in late September. Never heard from him as a follow up. Finally I reached out and he mentioned how busy he'd been and that it seemed like we met last week. Michael is not proactive, is rude and condescending just an all around terrible sales person. We spoke about a fire pit which not on the estimate. You can't throw a proposal together a month after you meet someone and except the conversation to be fresh. For a 30 x 19 pool they wanted to charge us 72k which I find obscene for a pool that's nothing special. Michael refused to give us an itemized list of how they came up with the price. It's been 4 months since we got our pool and we've had nothing but compliments on our pool and backyard. The only reason I gave them a 4 is because they didn't have too many tile choices that was not an upgrade. And I could not work with the designer Michael but through emails because of schedule conflicts. He did answer all my concerns promptly. We interviewed and researched before we decided to go with EdgewaterPools. Dan worked with our budget and did not compromise on my design. I had so many pictures I pulled off the internet and he took them and created a modern oasis for me and my family. Dan knows exactly how to fit your pool design in small backyards of Vegas and still have room for entertaining. He created a lounge area, firepit area and dining area. The schedule was on time. Better if you do it during the early months because they are not so busy. My husband and I started in February and pool was done by April. Neighbors and HOA had no complaints about the construction. We also had them do our backyard landscaping. I loved being able to select my plants. We have a section of artificial grass that is great for our lounging. Check out the end product! Plus we did not break the bank. Some of the quotes we got was ridiculous. So do your shopping and don't accept the saying "that's what everyone's charging". Terrible customer service. I had an appointment for a designer to come out for a new pool build and he cancelled 30 min before the appointment time. When I tried to reschedule with him he seemed to get confused and just quit answering me. Needless to say no one came, followed up or attempted to make an appointment with me later. WORST POOL COMPANY! With this service our pool ended up getting algae and they didn't even notice until I called to let them know. Their technician had no clue and we ended up cleaning the main filter for the pool that was the issue. I should have canceled with them when our neighbors also cancelled their service due to poor cleaning, but gave them a second chance and now they tried to clean the main filter and made a royal mess. Muddy water flowed into our pool and the technician attempted to clean it but left us with a dirty filter that we again had to clean. The technology left without even checking to see if the filter was running.(which it barely was because it was full of dirt and rocks. We are also now cleaning the pool surface they left with wet dirt. DO NOT USE THEM!!! You will end up wasting money and fixing their poor service! read more

***BUYER BEWARE*** Mr. Mike Stevens came to my house for a consult that I thought went very well, as he was the first contractor that I had over to initiate the process. I did inform him upfront that I was shopping a few companies to compare notes (which I am sure is pretty common practice) as to who we would ultimately decide to move forward with and that we are serious clients and will be pulling the trigger within 2 week's time. Which we are. I provided them with a rendering and design that we had approved through another contractor and asked that they mirror the design (that they did not create) and send me the proposal for consideration. After 5 days, Mike got back to me and sent a rendering that was in fact my backyard, however he completely butchered the design that I provided and basically disregarded everything we asked for and recreated their own that did not incorporate roughly 75% of what we asked for. He said he would make the changes and get back to me. 2 days later I receive a call at 8am to inform me that the 'OWNER' has to decided to pull my project and said, ''they don't want to work with me and have decided to pass on the job"...Really..??? After a full week and limited communication, you want to parts ways?? Low and behold, I never received the proposal and lost a week of my life for a job they never intended to fulfill. I personally call it a blessing in disguise as I can only imagine what the process would have been like should I have entered into to contract with contractors like this...What a joke! ***BUYER BEWARE*** There 100% is substance to all the negative reviews from this company. I usually post things when something is note worthy, but after reading through these other posts, I see half of them are from people who never got a call back or someone didn't spend two hours to go to their house, take all kinds of measurements and then another 3 to 5 hours to put together a design together for a homeowner who has already gotten 10 other estimates. We all know the only people getting 10 estimates are the same CHEAP people who ALWAYS go with the CHEAPEST PRICE not even caring what company it is. I promise you, if they had to spend 10 dollars per estimate, they would more than likely only get 1 or 2. YET, they can leave a negative one for companies that don't like wasting dozens of hours knowing the homeowner is just looking for the cheapest bid out of the 10. Im a contractor in CA. I know how Yelp works. Same as reviews on Amazon. People only leave negatives because the ones who don't complain, usually don't leave reviews. I felt obligated to leave a review for Edgewater because it was almost effortless with them. Im sure I could have subcontracted out most of the work but after retiring and moving to vegas, I really don't want to involve myself in a 4 month project. Id rather pay a little more to know its being done right. My days of micro-managing are over. The designer Mike B did a great job with the design. Made a few minor adjustments but for the most part, it was exactly how I had it in my head. The office was great with communication. Project was completed on time without any issues other than fixing a couple pavers and a dead plant. Cant ask for less issue than that with an 80,000 dollar job. We looked at several local pool companies before choosing one and Edgewater not only had a very competitive price but we found them to be extremely responsive and easy to work with. Worst pool company I've ever used, I don't have a single good thing to say. Just one of the problems they still can't seem to get right.

Had my pool installed just over 5 years ago. Nickel and dime you all the way to the end. The sales guy Mike F. was a nice enough guy. We were told while our subdivision was constructed only edge water had the legal( also for insurance) right to build a pool. Only once the subdivision construction was fully completed other pool companies were aloud to build a pool in your yard!!! WTF???. Anyway, during construction of our concrete deck, where the chaises would be, we told Mike we want enough space before we step into the pool. Well, construction folks came out, placed the wooden stakes where concrete was to be poured, and left. ( by the way, our back yard was all dirt due to being new construction ) . I look at the "deck" area and carry a chaise over and place it there. The chaise was right at the water line. So I called Mike and said uhh, that is kind of tight and if they could move the stakes back 1 foot! No digging, no removing grass, no nothing. They would grab the wooden stake and move it 1 ft back, which took them 1 min. The additional concrete area would have been about 10 sq/ft. He told me 1300$ extra. I was like, you must be kidding me. I was pissed especially since I told him we wanted enough space , not to get of the chaise and fall Into the water. Owner Mike finally called me and said ok, he would do it at cost for 330$ dollars. Is that how you do business? So you just wiped off almost a 1000$? Mmm. Then I called about my plaster being not uniform ( see the pics) and was told it was normal. Then our water feature started to have some tile issues. The color of the black tile seemed to separate and you can see the mesh holding the tiles together. It started after about 2 years and was just a small spot. So I didn't call. But now after about 5 years it has grown large. I called and Everytime you notify Edgewater about an issue, the first thing that comes out of their mouth..." oh, that's out of warranty. " not maybe listening and see how one can rectify the issue. I am not asking about having everything replaced for free, but maybe one can come up with a mutual agreed solution. I don't think the tile should separate like that after 2 years from the mesh. I assume there was either a manufacturing issue or the tile is not suitable for hot Las Vegas weather. But then it should be addressed. They came over twice, took pics and I never heard back from them. It almost appears like they don't want to deal with you unless they can make money of you. I would stay away from that place. I am not the only that had issues with them in our neighborhood, friends or neighbors complain to me too about their costumer service and the quality of the work. read more

Unbelievably poor customer relations from this company. after building my pool to a satisfactory standard one of the co-owners called me every four letter name in the book on the phone and when I told him to deal with the contractor and hung up on him he called me back and called me some I had never heard before. Definitely needs anger management course. As you can see by some of the other ratings these people are real hot heads. Don't plan on getting any satisfaction from them. If your pool does not turn out the way you want it you are on your own. I honestly feel that this was prosecutable verbal abuse and these people should not really work with the public. What can I say about Edgewater. From the time we walked in and talked to the owner, to the time Alejandro instructed us in pool school, this company was top notch. Dan was great at putting together our vision of how we wanted our backyard to look. Not only were they able to create the pool, but also the landscaping for the entire yard. Dan listened to what we wanted and designed the plans right there in the office. He started on the permits while we waited for HOA approval and got started right after we were approved. His office communicated with us through the whole process, design selection, when crews would be on the site, what phase the project was on, payment requirements during each phase, they and answered any questions we had during the project. Shawna and Ellie were great! We signed in February, the crew started in March and it was complete by mid-May. Also, the project managers were on site on Tuesdays and Fridays to answer any questions we had through the whole process. They did such a great job and worked with us with on a couple of small changes with the plants. Also, at the end of the project, they have a punch list which contains any loose ends that needed to be completed. The employees, the crew, and the owner all paid special attention to detail. I am a very organized person and I was pleased on how well and smooth the project was executed. We are extremely happy with the outcome and have received many compliments from family and friends.
