Hired them to drain my green pool and replace cartridges for $350 + cartridges. I have to note that the guy told me that there will be green stuff left on the bottom, and that it should get filtered out once i refill it. I expected that for the price they would clean the green stuff and then put fresh water, but i guess that's just my expectations. So I did it myself anyways using a construction vacuum. They were the only ones to actually reach out to me and i contacted multiple companies. They did the job but it's kinda pricey for me. Thank you anyways and the guy Derek was very nice. Given the response received from the owner and the fact that the repair work was performed by another contractor and it lasted flawlessly the past year, I am updating my review to 1*. It is one thing to just be more expensive and leave it at that but it is an entirely different thing claiming that other contractors cut corners. There is cutting corners and there is 'incompetent technicians' that try to boil the ocean for a simple fix. The scope of work never changed but the price estimate did! We originally called Nearby Pool Service first to help with cleaning our main pool filter, but were impressed enough by their knowledge and courtesy that we decided to try them out for a regular pool service, after having cancelled with our previous company (who had been doing little more than a five-minute service I could do myself on a Saturday morning both better and more cheaply). And, oh boy, this has been like night and day. The care provided by Nearby Pool Service is consistently thorough and high quality, and the owner and his staff alike are friendly and knowledgeable about pool chemistry and equipment. They've been happy, even eager to share information, and explain how and why services are being performed, as well as answering any questions we have about it. Our pool looks better than ever thanks to their care, and their approach feels like it's adding to the pool's life as well as just keeping it in good swimming condition. This company started cleaning my pool in October of 2023. My pool was green, and I was told they would do a green-to-clean process and shouldn't need to drain it. Unfortunately, this process did not work, and they ultimately had to drain my pool. At that time, they also put in new filters. It has been about 8 months, and my pool is already back to the point it was when they started maintenance. They have not cleaned the filters and say the reason my pool looks like this now is because I have yet to get a pool vacuum. I took prelim pics and they were able to insure that my system and pool would be serviced and made beautiful. Justin came and gave us Pool School and gave us an initial bid for timer repairs and filter replacement. Christina made payments and explanation of service very easy to deal with an understand. I've had the pleasure of having these guys service my pool for the last few years. I can say without a doubt that they provided some of the best help and maintenance for my pool than what I have received especially since my situation was a little trickier. When we first bought our house that came with the pool we soon found out that the sellers had hidden the fact that there was black algae growth in our pool! We didn't know what to do any many pool cleaning services did not offer any help and refused to service us without some extreme charge. Legends Pool Service came to us and was very transparent in letting us know that they didn't have the most experience dealing with this but they would learn while maintenance get our pool. I can say with full confidence that they did an amazing job allowing us now to use our pool without issue :) It saddens me to hear they're moving away from California so I'll have to find a new cleaning service :( Anyone that has the pleasure of working with them in the future should jump on it! read more

I just started weekly service with Legends (today!) and I'm already so happy with the service I wanted to share the positive feedback. Derek came out today to get our service started and was great to work with. He explained everything so clearly and made everything easy to understand even though I'm not the one that normally handles our pool maintenance. He adjusted our chemicals and started treatment for a recurrent algae problem we couldn't seem to get rid of and started a chlorine floater to help with the summer heat eating all of our liquid chlorine. He adjusted the timing of our pump to make sure it was running at the proper times of day for the summer weather. Derek has been doing an excellent job maintaining our pool for the past year. We had previously been using a large company, and the service became spotty, with several missed visits, and repeated algae growth. I met Derek when he was servicing our neighbor's pool, and figured we may as well give Legends a go. Glad we did - our pool has consistently looked great under Derek's care. Derek is super helpful and informative, always happy to explain what he's doing and why, as well as providing the reasoning behind any recommendations. I wish I had had the opportunity to get Derek's input many years ago when making a decision on passive solar, because he has provided some valuable context that the solar salesperson didn't. We needed someone to install new cartridges for our pool filter and do a one time cleaning. Justin came through for us and even picked up an o-ring for us so there were no hiccups in the process. I reached out to Legends to get an estimate for a replacement blower for my hot tub. Justin was quick to respond and asked several follow up questions to confirm that he understood the job and situation. His quote ended up being very reasonable and the work was scheduled. Derek came out to do the work. He was on time, super nice, and did the job without any trouble. I asked him several more questions to work towards solving a different problem with our water...he was knowledgable and able to give me good advice that will save us a lot of money in the long run. Once I get a pool builder to sort out the first part of the water problem, I'll be using Legends again to finish the job. Pool guys are hit or miss these days, with a lot of the more knowledgable ones either close to retirement or too busy with current clients to even return phone calls. Justin and Derek seem to have learned from the "old guys" they've worked with and are now doing their own thing. I've worked with several pool guys over the years, and I honest feel that the Legends guys are the real deal. They're totally fair. I have been using Legends for almost a year now. Our pool as never been so clean and clear. Very professional and they respond quick if needed off hours with questions or service. Before Legends we had algae growth that we couldn't get rid of. We have not had one single algae spot in our pool for almost a year. They recently performed a chlorine scrub of entire pool.
