    Outdoor kitchen by Lifeguard Pools
    Denise A.

I've been waiting a long time to place this review because "Covid" made everything impossible !!! I met with a designer for this company in December 2020. Justin came up with a beautiful design and after a few tweaks we were ready for groundbreaking January 2021. To be perfectly honest, building a pool is not for the feint of heart. A lot of anxiety and frustration goes into this process. But after many many months of setbacks and heartbreak we now have an amazing pool and outdoor kitchen that has taken my breath away. When people arrive for a gathering their responses are all identical ... "Wow !! Is this your home or a resort !!" Thank you Ron, MacKenzie, Justin, Maggie and ESPECIALLY Travis for making my dream a reality. I know that after all the struggles this was truly worth the wait !!!

This is long overdue but I'm so glad we went with Lifeguard Pools. For background, we initially signed a contract with a different builder, but a week after, I had this feeling that we had made a mistake. We lost our security deposit in the process but I'm so glad that we switched to Ron and his whole crew. From the design concept, to construction, to the day-to-day work, I would say that we are very happy with the service provided. Shout out to my superb designer Justin for listening carefully to my vision and making our dream pool a reality. We hit an aquifer during the dig but thanks to Ron's expertise, we were confident that we were building a pool to last. Thanks to our superintendent Travis for making sure that we understood how to keep the pool sparkling clean once it was built, and for answering our silly questions, even on his days off. To Lisa, for making sure that we were priority for the pebbletec installation. And of course, my deepest appreciation to my favorite person during this whole build, Mackenzie. She made sure that we were on track with the schedule and was always on top of everything. She really kept me sane during the whole process and without a doubt was a very good person to lean on. Once again, thank you very much guys!

Spa holds 14 people and has a stream that flows down into the pool, plus the waterfall in the spa itself.

Let me start by saying the opposite of another reviewer, Run To Ron!! I shopped pool builders over the entire Vegas Valley before I found Lifeguard Pools and Ron. In fact, he was a last minute appointment when I had already chosen another company. First off, Ron is NOT a salesman, he sits and listens to what you want then pencils out a drawing of what he can build for you. He never once bad mouthed the competition and never pressured me into a quick contract with him. Ron had no idea of the prices he was bidding against, and he not only bid apples to apples, but used better and higher end products in his bid for an overall lower price. Not one other pool builder took the time to tell me why he used a certain product, but said he would substitute my own choice if I liked for the same price. Were there set backs and delays in getting my pool and backyard built on time? Yes, but they were all within reason and for the price and MOST important, the quality it was never an issue and always worth the wait. The proof in the pudding is when the marriage comes to an end (pool and backyard are completed) and you have to say goodbye. Every time I set foot into my backyard I give thanks to Ron for going above and beyond making my dreams come true. I mean who couldn't get excited over looking at three waterfalls, a stream, and a fabulous outdoor kitchen every day!! Even my friends that have had pools for years came over and said they wished they had found Ron first. AND, I can not take an ounce of credit for any part of the design that Ron created. I went out on a limb and gave him total carte blanche to design an over the top backyard and am I ever glad I went out on that limb!!! I'm not one to write reviews very often on Yelp, or anywhere for that matter, but when I see one and two star reviews that are either written by his competitors to hurt him or someone that is having a bad day, I thought I would speak from my heart. To read that he never returns phone calls from a one star review is just ludicrous. I wish everyone was as diligent at returning calls as Ron is. If you're thinking about building a pool, contact Ron and tell him you want to see his work in my back yard. See if the other one star will let you see theirs. I'm betting not. My project is a year old now and I have given Ron no less that three other contacts and everyone of them used Ron and is as happy as I am. Thank you Ron and Lifeguard Pools!!!

And it cost us $1900, and our fountain now has big smears of white caulk, which I am currently looking at from my front window. I had been assured that the pump motor had been installed in such a way that it could be cleaned and serviced. Imagine my surprise when I got into the box and discovered that the inlet and outlet had been glued in place with pipe cement, preventing any access to the pump. I had to cut the two pipes out with a hacksaw just to clean the water passages. And please look at the supporting photos, which include a shot of the nightmare inside the fountain foundation. A mess of pinched and collapsed plastic fittings, held together with electrical tape, which surprisingly isn't really meant to be underwater. It took me all afternoon to undo the damage and prepare for a real fountain repair company to do things right. Maybe don't have them work on your fountain. Anyway, pool cleaning. So, multiple times, we had to ask somebody to return and do a better job, after discovering a lot of dirt still left on the bottom and stairs. On one of these occasions, whoever came back to improve things decided that the stairs looked fine with all the dirt still left on them. And on other days, it would be fine. The weekly chemical report often had wildly inaccurate readings. More than once I had to ask things like, "Did you really put 17 gallons of chlorine in?" "Oh, there's a glitch in the software program..." (I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea). So, who knows what other inaccuracies were in the chemical report? It's not to be trusted if it's having a "software glitch." Enjoy these pictures of the fountain caulk and the dirt on the pool steps - and this was after somebody came out and made a second try. This is a pretty new company, and maybe they just need some flight time to get the bugs worked out. Also, maybe they shouldn't claim to be able to work on fountains. If you want a solid, consistent pool service, these guys are not there yet.

They drained my pool and did an acid wash, charged me over $300 for "startup chemicals" and assured me the pool would be clean for my tenants but they knew all along that they were going out of business so they stopped sending the pictures with the weekly status reports and started ghosting me when I inquired about why I haven't been receiving the pictures and of course no reply! Against my better judgment and as a gesture of good faith, I prepaid my pool service from September until February so I didn't have to deal with very unreasonable tenants. To my surprise, Johhny and Trinity did not refund the remainder of my prepayment and lied to the new contractor Desi at Pool Medic who to my surprise tried to get me to pay for Dec & January pool service . They seemed like honorable people, but I can't warn you enough to stay away from these people if they ever get back into the pool business again. They ghosted me and then claimed they didn't sell their business to another vendor and to my surprise I got a bill for services that were already prepaid from Pool Medic. Johhny assured me he would send me receipts of the credits to my credit cards but as of today that never happened. Nevada law says 10% upfront only and every time they did work for me they wanted 100% upfront. What a disappointment and betrayal of trust! Karma will get these two!

The pool smart team gave me practical advice on how to do the repair economically, and was even cool with me shopping for parts online. No upsell or up charge pressure at all! It turned out to be a really complicated replacement, due to a lot of difficult job site conditions that weren't expected at the beginning of the job. The pool smart team completed the repair the same day, and everything is working perfectly. Solid choice. Look no further!

Well, they upsized two single 15amp breakers onto a 20amp tandem and put it into a slot that didn't support tandems. The panel door has a diagram showing where tandems are allowed! They did eventually come out and install a 15amp tandem in the right spot, but it took weeks of pestering my pool builder to get the electricians to even contact me. - I paid for a 50amp panel for future additional use vs. the 30amp standard. They ran 8 gauge copper for the 173' run. Similar installations call for 6 gauge at that length due to voltage drop being outside of NEC standards. After weeks of unanswered questions they showed the wire is rated for 50amps, but have not produced a voltage drop calculation that I've asked several times from two levels of management over 2+ months to prove that I can actually use the future capacity upgrade I paid for. Based on my experience, I will not use Murphy Electric again and would not recommend them to others.
