They have seen my pup from puppy to adulthood and have cared for her through getting vaccinated, getting her spayed, BOAS surgery and even helped me with international travel paperwork (they made it super easy). Dr. Rafael and his staff are caring and friendly. Great bedside manner and I feel and see how well they provide medical guidance for my dog even through routine checks. Edgewater is wonderful! We've been happy customers for years since our italian greyhound Luna was born. We recently had a stressful situation where she broke her leg at a nearby boarding and daycare facility while we were traveling for longer than a month abroad. As you can imagine, it was pretty traumatic for both her and us that we couldn't help her while we were away. However, the doctors and team were absolutely wonderful and kept us updated every minute of the way. My dog died because of this vet incompetence. I told him Leo was looking up the ceiling and stretching his head very often without a reason. As a matter of fact he did it in front of the vet. He laughed at me and told me I overreacted. I went to another vet who recommended to see a neurologist. Leo had MUE, a serious inflammatory disease of the brain and spinal cord. After a couple of MRIs and serious treatment Leo passed. If this vet knew dogs he would have recommended the right treatment instead of laughing at my report. Or, he would have at least send me to a specialist that knew what was doing. Please do not trust a vet that thinks you are spoiling your dog and you do not know what is unusual with your dog. We came in for an appointment and found TWO off leash small dogs wandering around the office. Even assuming everyone was 'friendly', a vet office is the one place this should never be allowed. It's reasonable to assume that at least one dog in the office has something contagious at some point during the day -- people bring sicks dogs to the vet for treatment, after all -- and they were simply roaming off leash. However, one of these dogs was overtly AGGRESSING at every dog in sight. Barking loudly, growling, hackles raised, and posturing at our dog. Our dog was leashed, quiet, and trying to distance... but the aggressor was unleashed and him leashed, both in an enclosed area. The staff at the front desk did absolutely nothing and simply watched as this went down. Husband had to ask if the front desk if they could get the unleashed, aggressive dogs under control. They shrugged, looked annoyed, then called them over. This kind of a response to a client's dog getting aggressed at, never mind the infection risk, is absolutely unacceptable... anywhere, but especially at a vet's office and from the staff you bring your dog to to ensure his health. Management, if you're reading, some of your staff bring their dogs in, let them roam off leash, and don't even care when their dogs are violently going in to attack your clients' dogs. Worst attitude ever! Stuff is mean and apathetic. They are all about money only! Trying to sell you unnecessary services and vaccines and unnecessary services and vaccines don't care about your pet's health. Always late, because of a lot of other clients. Make you spend there entire day. Today I came to get a prescription for Bravecto, I spent more than an hour, and they promised to email me the prescription and I had to call them and email them couple of times to remind. I still didn't get anything btw. They don't value your time at all. Like one of the ladies told me "If you're in a rush that doesn't mean we have to be too." And,of course payment was in advance. So eventually, 3hrs ago, I paid and still got nothing. And it's only about the prescription for $58! When they do shots or tests they don't allow you to be there with your pet, they take them away. So you never know if they will do something or steal your time and money. I had a different and much better experience before in LA and will be looking for some new vet here in Miami. This pet clinic is very special because it is small and family like. I widh that all the staff speak Spanish although I am American my husband is Spanish-speaking and it makes it difficult. After all we are in Miami :-). The vets are incredible Dr. Simon is open minded and even offers alternatives to conventional medicine at times. Originally I liked this place but after I had what happen to me happen, I would never come here again. Sure it's cheap ish but not enough to excuse the doctor trying to swindle me into paying hundreds of dollars for an unnecessary surgery. My dog has heart worms and started treatment last July. I asked them for another prescription for his heart meds and brought proof that he got the tests done recently to show he is positive. But they wanted to take the tests themselves which is okay. Of course the tests came back positive because he has heart worms duh! They came back and told me something I already knew then said they could prescribe me the meds. Great, I'm happy and I leave happy. Come the following month, I need to fill the meds script and they call me to tell me they can't fill the script anymore. I ask why and they said because he is heartworm positive. We already knew that when I was at the office and they lied to my place basically. For those who don't know, there's two types of treatment for heart worms: fast kill and slow kill. I chose the slow kill route because it is more affordable. Your dog will remain heartworm positive on tests until a YEAR after doing the slow kill treatment. After a year if they are still positive then you do the fast kill. But for us, it had not even been a year that he was on treatment so it was okay for him to be positive still. They told us, after already agreeing to give us the meds for him, that they won't live up to their word anymore and that he must get the fast kill treatment which is over $1000. I immediately thought that was suspect of them so I went to THREE other vet clinics who all told me that was them trying to get money out of me for an unnecessary procedure! read more

The team at Edgewater Pet Clinic is AWESOME! I prefer going here over Petsmart, which always feels like a mill. At Edgewater you get more of that small town feel. The vets and staff do a great job and seem to genuinely care about animals. Sadly, I've been to vets where they just don't have warmth or for whatever don't seem to care that much about your pet. Here, I notice they always try to accommodate where they can. In fairness to them, they are a small shop and because they are great, they are busy! But I've been coming here with my pet for years, and I notice they always try to do all they can to help my pet and others. My baby Sausage was bitten in lip by neighbor's dog and it got infected . He had 2 surgery's about $1500 each and stitches never closed the hole and got infected after each surgery . First surgeon sucked and stitches were not tight . 2nd surgeon did much better but had less lip to work with . After it opened again this vet told me to put my baby down or have specialist cut 1/4 of jaw out . Went and saw a few other vets and all wanted to do surgery ranging from 2000 to 7000. Dr Simon Czamanski had a different treatment . He was only Vet to read my boys medical reports and told me it was an infection and needs to go off all meds for 14 days and get a fresh clean culture . We did this and it came back with 4 bad bacteria infections . After 30 days, pills worked ok. Switched to new pills and and they are really working . Huge hole is finally closed . Imagine having a Vet tell you to put your baby down when all he needed was the right Vet and antibiotics . And the so called specialist that wanted 8 grand when Simon's plan cost a total of $800 with tests, visits, and meds . The Vet, Dr Lee Ann Ablin, that wanted to have a 3rd surgery for $7000 is from Coral Springs Animal Hospital. She was new there and when I just pulled up her info she has already moved again to Leader . She had the audacity to ask for $7000 for a surgery that my baby didn't even need without reading the medical history that I had sent over that showed he needed antibiotics not surgery .I now drive an hour from Ft Laudy to Edgewater to see Sausage's favorite Vet. Very similar experiences to the rest of the bad reviews to summarize. Details below for anyone interested: 1. Your pet is caged in the back and you're not allowed and you will hear them crying.. also doesn't matter cat/dog all cages next to each other, and you're not allowed to go in. That wasn't even the reason why I will never go there again. 2. They made my pet sick by over-medicating him. They gave him 2 vaccinations and a drop, we got home and he got really sick, we called and let them know of it. When we took him back they washed away the drops. They treated his illness and charged us for all of it. No apology whatsoever acted like it was our fault. We lost trust in this situation, but even this wasn't the reason for this review. 3. The drops they gave us last time, we found it much cheaper at a pharmacist so we called the pharmacy where they needed the prescription sent from the clinic, called the clinic they said they would send it. Couple hours later did a follow up call to see if they did, and the pharmacy said they never got a call. We called back the clinic and asked them why they haven't called and they said they don't do that and the pharmacy has to call them. Called the pharmacy and they also said they won't call. We then called back the clinic to see what we can do and they advised us to grab the paper prescription to take to the pharmacy, we told them no problem and that we would go there to pick it up the following day, they said ok. Before we went back to the clinic we called them to ask if the prescription was ready for us to pick up and that we're on our way, they said yes. When we got there, not only there were no prescription, there was no vet available to give the prescription (mind you there were at least 6 pet patients waiting to meet the vet - I know right, who is treating your pet back there??).. the guy at the front, who by the way mumbles so much that I had to ask him to use his words clearly, said "there was a miscommunication and that they will not be able to give me the prescription" however I could buy it from them directly today! (Of course!) I told him this was unacceptable and that they must do something about it. He did not once apologize. When I told them if we can't get this sorted out today, they will be losing a patient and the answer I got was "very well". On the way out, I run into the "so called vet who can't give prescription" and told him the service here is unacceptable he said that I was being disrespectful to the client who had appointments without even knowing the back end of the story and the fact that I did make an appointment the day before to come in and get a prescription written.. Save yourselves and pets the stress and the money and go somewhere else, there are way better vets all around us. This is just not worth it. U read more

I've been here few times but never wrote a review. The place is near by my apartment, so what better than that convince. The veterinarian is friendly, calm and never in rush to see your pet. They accept walk ins, you may have to wait a little longer but is worth it. My dog is in good health, thanks to Edgewater Pet Clinic for all their advices in taking care of my dog. They show little care for their pet clients and even less care for the people bringing their pets. I brought my puppy here after she was having a pretty bad bout of diarrhea. The poor thing was waking me up every 2 hours to run outside and use the bathroom and whatever it was seemed to be causing a lot of stomach pain. I called, explained the situation and was given an appointment to come in that day. Yanelly and the other guy at the front desk (can't remember his name) were so friendly and welcoming. I didn't have to wait at all to be seen. The rooms are all very clean with a chic modern style. The veterinarian was so kind and took his time when explaining exactly what was going on with her. He recommended an antidiarrheal shot, a 7 day course of antibiotics and some probiotics. I really appreciated his honesty and the fact that neither him nor his staff tried to force us to buy any extra products in the office. I took my puppy home and started her on a bland diet, the probiotics recommended and the antibiotics prescribed. The antidiarrheal he gave her in the office worked like a charm. After two days she was running around with full energy and back to her usual playful self. And did I mention that the first office visit was free? Yep! Saved me $48, and unlike other veterinary clinics, the follow up visits are much cheaper at $32. I was so very pleased with the customer service and knowledge of the staff and vet, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my puppy back here. read more

We just moved to Miami and hello? My Yorkshire got sick. Diarrhea and some vomits in a 6 pound dog is never good... I found this vet and I gave it a try: First visit is for free. Doctor is super nice (and Bilingual!) and he was THE FIRST VET in the USA that spent 30 min on the phone explaining to me how my dog was and what the next steps were plus recommendations (My boyfriend took him to the vet while I was at work). The service is 5 stars and the treatment wasn't expensive as he wasn't really really sick. The nurses are great too and they call you the day after asking about your baby. She said to come on over. They were utilizing great infection control techniques within their office with masks, sanitizers and only one owner in the office at a time. The vet quickly told me the course of action and his staff gave me immediate pricing. I was shocked how reasonable the costs were! They kept my pup for about 5 hours, gave her injections to control the allergic reaction, and even sent her home with a new harness, because I forgot to tell them to remove my pup's harness or she would chew it, and she did. These people have the nicest faces but don't actually care at all about your pets health. They upsell, overcharge, hide fees and add surprise charges - make sure to ask for an itemized receipt BEFORE you pay. One girl made me pre-pay my puppy's shot but wouldn't let him get it this visit for risk of over vaccination. So I prepaid, and then scheduled his next shot and they reschedule 3 times before eventually giving him the shot and charging me over $100+. I told them I prepaid and then after checking they told me "well you still have to pay for the consultation ($85)". I told them absolutely not, as they were supposed to administer the shot weeks ago when I paid under that consultation and they finally took off the charge. But not before telling me he had an ear infection that required their special solution and charged me $15. They crossed the line when I called and asked for them to respond to a prescription request that they ignored and ignored and ignored until my order was canceled. I placed a 2nd order and same result. Canceled. Now with weeks passed and my dog now lapsed on his meds, I called them and they irresponsibly lied and promised they'd take care of it. Of course they didn't, and I had to follow up every single day to no resolution. The guy answering the phone continued to cover for her daily and tells me she's not available. I ask again and urge to them that my pet has already LAPSED on his medication and it is crucial I get his prescription. I asked for them to email it to me if they couldn't contact the pharmacy but once again, sure I'll email it to you! Promised 4 times and to this day (weeks later) I still haven't received it. Eventually I had to walk to the vet myself and look them in the face to ask if they felt this was how you should treat a pet? Imagine their surprise to see me. Is it really responsible to ignore a medication request because I'm not paying you $100+ this visit? How can you sleep at night knowing you're letting pets suffer because you don't want to fulfill your duty as a medical professional? Shame on Dr. Stredel. Shame on his employees. During my visit, she eventually says she had approved the order (3rd attempt after 2 cancelled orders) but "forgot" to call me back and let me know. This nonchalant attitude is exactly what you can expect if you're not forking over your credit card. It's inhumane and deplorably sad that these folks are allowed to work around peoples pets. They were the nicest people on earth when shoving the credit card scanner in my face. When I asked the girl how she would feel if this was her pet, she took zero accountability, and said it's not her fault. Yet she was the one I spoke to 7 times and promised me she'd handle it even though she never once called me back. Not once. I am so happy with my decision to check out the edgewater vet clinic. The clinic is clean and the staff is so friendly. You can tell the genuine love for animals is there. I have had my cat for exactly a year. She is a year and a half year old, and I had all her original shots and spay at humane society but I felt it was important to have a vet nearby going forward. We did the booster shots and got a general check up all under $100. The vet looked her over and listened to all my questions and concerns I had at this 1 year point. The whole thing took an hour, mainly because of it being our first time. They have also followed up to check on her. Parking is on street, and pay by phone. Scam artists like the others say, they charge 5X the actual prices of what things should really cost. They'll tell you your pet has X problem and show you no tests, no proof, then charge you an arm and a leg for these random tests that your pet "needed". Let's go with the facts and make this review simple. I'm a nurse and here is my experience with this pet clinic. 1. They quoted me almost $3,000 for my dogs dental surgery. The vet tech went over prices, not the vet himself. If i was going to have questions I think it should have been the person doing the surgery answering them. I went to Orlando and got the surgery done for about $700.00. They did an excellent job. 2. I called them twice and left a message with the secretary/ vet tech to return my phone call to discuss changing my dogs food away from grain free (due to concerns of heart failure). He never returned my call. 3. I am now switching his care to another vet and I received edgewater pet clinic medical records. It appears his cardiovascular assessment was abnormal (he has a heart murmur). On his last visit this was never mentioned and I was told everything was normal. THIS IS A SIGN OF HEART FAILURE. They open at 9AM and close at 1PM on Saturday, which is when I came the first time. I called at 9AM to see if they could see my new puppy same-day for annual check up, routine vaccines, etc. and they were able to schedule me for 11AM. As the other review stated, modern/contemporary decor, clean, and staff is very friendly, offering water for both myself and the pup. It looks like there's 4 exam rooms, very high ceilings, but sliding doors in each room, so you can hear the echo of the conversations happening throughout and also of the Vet with the patient- HIPPA for pets ;) Vet absolutely takes his time and explains in great detail the care he plans to provide or what the pup needs- so if you have some time to spare in lieu of great medical care, this is the place to be (waited about an hour and a half to see Vet). The first office visit is free, routine exam, so that was a nice add and got first round of vaccines and heart worm for $85- not a bad deal. **Update** This service was so superb that I took my other puppy over to Edgewater -had them ask for my pups records from our other vet. Spent 35 minutes talking to the Vet (owner vet, this time), and he answered all of my questions, and there were many! They always call to confirm your appointment and what I also appreciate is that they call the next day to ask how your pup is. Best veterinary group!! I haven't lived in Miami in nearly a decade and still make it a point to take my furry one to Edgewater when I'm back in Miami visiting family and friends. My senior pug (RIP) underwent a pretty intense dental surgery in October 2017 and woke up wonderfully, missing more than half of her teeth, yet with an incredible recovery and a fully healthy mouth. She was a happy puppy after the anesthesia and I cannot be more pleased with my experience. She stayed in Miami for a few days and finished her happy recovery back at home in California- the doctors and staff at Edgewater continued to check in months after the surgery and it was heartbreaking when they called and I had to tell them the sad news that she went to doggy paradise. I rescued a senior mix-breed and brought her in last week for her regular check-up and vaccines. The staff welcomed us and remembered my late puggy, were so kind and fragile to my new rescue pup and treated us with the same professionalism and care that I've always felt at Edgewater (and seldom feel at other vets). My dog is spoiled rotten....but I have to admit I had yet to find an amazing vet since moving to Miami. After careful yelping around-I ran into Edgewater and took a whim to get all my furbabie's annuals and vaccines here. The office itself was super modern and spacious and the receptionist was really sweet and even offered me a free smoothie when they had an extra. The whole visit was quick and painless. And even though my dog was shaking nervously, they handled her very carefully and made her feel at home. (Or made her look less of nut case.) This clinic is five stars all around. Do not recommend going here unless you want your pet to pretty much be overdosed by them. I have been giving my dog heartworm medication for months now and today my husband took her in for a "shot" only to find out it was heartworm medication because they didn't know that we already were giving it to her..... they APPROVED of the medication we were giving to her on a monthly basis AND my husband told them that we were giving her heartworm medication and they did not listen. Now we are $138 out and my dog is throwing up thanks to them. When I called and spoke to their response was "sorry you're right there was a miscommunication on our part." This is a hard review to write, but felt that my experience should be shared and praised. I rescued a cat that lived in my office parking lot, who had been severely attacked by another animal. After contacting my regular vet and realizing that they wanted to charge me upwards of $200 to help this animal that wasn't even mine, I found Edgewater and decided to give them a try. To begin with, the staff was extremely accommodating and welcoming. I had called earlier to explain the situation and how it was a stray cat, so I couldn't give an exact time-frame as it all depended on me being able to catch her. They understood, and were able to see me right away once I caught her. I took the cat in and met with the Vet, who right away administered an antibiotic shot, fluids, and cleaned her wound. Given the circumstances, neither of us knew the extent of this cats wounds, only what we could see on the exterior. For the next week or so, I continued to take the cat in regularly for check-ups, fluid, more antibiotic shots, and at some points just to have her monitored while I was at work. During this time, Edgewater was extremely fair with their pricing, and never made me feel like this cat was just a stray off of the street that didn't deserve their full attention. On the days that the cat wasn't with them, they would make sure to call me and check in to see how she was doing. Their genuine concern for this cat was refreshing, and also a boost of confidence that they had her best interest in mind. The cat unfortunately did not make it, as her injuries were too extensive and she was just too weak to continue on. When she passed this morning, I immediately called Edgewater as I had no idea what to do with a deceased cat, and they were kind enough to take care of it for me. As if all of their help and support wasn't enough, the doctor called me shortly after to tell me that he had done an autopsy on the cat to get to the root of the problem, which he did. That act alone spoke volumes to me. The fact that this doctor cared enough to take time out of his day, to find a reason, and give me closure, showed just how much this doctor and this staff cares about the animals they help, and the pet owners who love them as their own. I will forever be grateful for the support and warmth that Edgewater provided during this difficult time, and would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a veterinarian for their fur babies. AMAZING VET ! my little jack russel Mia had an abscess in her mouth . Doctor checked her and got the solution immediately! she had the surgery next day and now she is very very happy! also vet clinic called us next day to check if everything was fine. I appreciate this service.
