I am thankful for the staff at Edgewater. The team took excellent care of my Aunt. She said that she was treated extremely well. Her room was alwasy clean and her food on time. Her physcial therapy was successful. Most impressive was the case manager, Isha. Isha was such a joy to manage the care. my experiences while being a patient at Edgewater was very positive. The nursing staff was caring and made sure their patients were well cared for. Housekeeping cleaned rooms and bathrooms everyday Food nicely prepared and special diets provided if needed. The physical and occupational therapists were excellent. I was there because of a bad fall and I had therapy twice a day. My therapist Al, Ellie and Matthew made it possible for me (91 yrs old) to return to my home. They were very patient in helping me through each day. read more

They refused to address my concerns about my urinary tract infection, and the bathrooms are NOT handicapped accessible. The nurse (I forget her name) was mean to me when I called her "my friend" absolutely no bedside manner; in-fact, this skilled nursing home/rehab center is the worst I've ever been in. read more

Edgewater skilled nursing facility is the worst. My mother in law has been there for years and the care has gotten worse and worse over the years. They hold quarterly "meetings" to address any issues or concerns, but they are never really addressed. They are incompetent and no one is on the same page when it comes to my mother in laws care. She is nonverbal and doesn't walk, nor can she feed herself. I asked that she be put on the feeding list so that someone can feed months ago and they still just sit her food tray on her table, leaving out of range for her to reach. She's always dehydrated. The RN supervisor, Cinnamon, was so rude. She argued with me about what I was addressing in regards to my mother in laws feeding situation. This is just the tip of the iceberg!!!! They should take the word 'skilled' out of the name, they are so far from skilled!!! If you want your loved one to be taken care of don't send them here. read more

This is the worst place I have ever been to in my life having nightmares The worst experience in my life and I'm 52 years old I was admitted into this facility on the 27th of January 2022 around 6:30pm and only gave my family 2 hours to research this facility before transferring me in which they were close or did not answer the phone to make sure it will be a good fit for me and my family I was transported from St. Mary's Hospital in which I was in there for covid and numbness and weakness on my left side of my body in which I stayed there for 6 to 7 days and Physical Therapy at St. Mary's decided they were going to transfer me to this facility only notifying ME 30mins before transportation upon arriving the staff were laughing and playing around in the hallways they were playing loud music and the paramedic exact words were what kind of place is this he had to ask them two or three times what room will I be going to once he took me to the room he had to set it up for me not the staff but the paramedic driver once everything was set up that's when someone that works for the facility walks in thank god for the nurse at St. Mary's gave me my dinner and snack's and juice because I would have been more hungry then I was and when they brought me breakfast that's the picture below the only thing I ate was the orange to get the juice from it because I was so thirsty because I had nothing to drink they told me I can get something from the vending machine but I had no cash so she told me there was nothing that they can do at this time I was very overwhelmed and my anxiety was off the roof I felt very scared very unsafe and unable to sleep stayed up the whole night\morning in one place and that nasty room and bed the room smelled like cigarettes old mold which was covered with perfume spray had to share a bathroom in which they told me that the joining room the patient was in was unable to use the restroom but every time I went to the restroom it was urine in the toilet so at work 8am I called my mother to pick me up I could not stay there another second once my mother got there they will not open the door for her and they gave her the run-around this place is false advertisement if you see the pictures are from 3 years ago and 7 years ago this is 2022 So here is my picture from Jan 2022 There were only one nice nurse and her name was Carman the morning nurse at lease the first 20mins St. Mary's you should be ashame of sending people to this place all about money I have so much more to say in which will be on the News along with other patient so disappointed so really do your research and read all the complaints and not just on here I have been having a hard time sleeping and when I do sleep I have nightmares since I left this place maybe some people can cope with this Im just not one of them read more

Byron duff is staff of activity's I enjoy the way he runs things he can cut men's and women's hair and dread locks also flower arrangement and most of all keeps the patients interested with puzzles jeopardy music t.v. and when it's someone's birthday they provide cake and ice cream with balloons tied to wheel chair. The staff here is absolutely wonderful. Like anything else in life , there will be adversity. There will be complaints and imperfections. But ill tell you what at least they try and care . My mother is there and the whole time shes been there ,the staff has been good , comforting and respectful to her . I walk in and im greeted and i see interactions and activities in progress . This is not the first Nursing Facility I visit , thus by far it is the best one , I have visited . Edgewater is the best and caring rehab center I have ever encountered. I had my right knee replaced last year and came here and it was so awesome I came back this year when I had my left knee replaced. The entire staff was there for you at all times. The physical therapy staff got me up and at it in no time. I felt this was a close and caring atmosphere. Edgewater has a "family" feeling and I just loved it. read more

This facilitie doesn't care about the PATIENTS my mom went there for physical therapy and came home with covid and not walking at all she also came home with pneumonia and shit in her pants if you care about your loved one BEWARE. Your loved one will never be the same. Look at the reviews on Google as well. So disappointed in this place calling themselves skilled nurses. So sad. My dad has stayed at 3 other local skilled nursing facilities in the past few years that were just terrible and treated patients like numbers. Those were the facilities that were highly recommended by the large hospitals that had been treating my dad. I visited with the administrator and social worker at Edgewater and a couple of other facilities prior to selecting a place this time around for him. Right from the start I could tell by the way John and the rest of the staff members at Edgewater addressed my questions and concerns that this place was going to be very different. They actually seemed to care and that's something that's not often seen in these types of facilities these days. I had just dropped by without calling or scheduling an appointment mind you so that I could get an good idea of how things are going and how staff members interacted with the patients. After answering my questions and taking me on a tour of the facility I was free to walk around myself and check the place out. I was very pleased with everything I learned and witnessed during this visit. My dad spent just over 90 days there and I can tell you that there is no doubt in my mind or my dad's mind that the difference between the other facilities that my dad had stayed at in the past and Edgewater were like night and day. That same caring attitude I observed during my initial visit was practiced by all of the staff members at Edgewater during his stay. No one ever wants to be in a nursing home but if the need should ever arise again in the future my dad's choice undoubtedly will be Edgewater I completely agree with him! read more

I became a patient at Edgewater in 2016. The nursing care was exceptional. I love therapy which brought me back from being real sick to becoming much stronger. I would also like to talk about the nurses, they were very skilled and patient. When I put my light on, I don't wait for a long time and medicines were passed out efficiently. I also wanted to mention the Social Worker Claudia who takes care of me and all the residents and will tell you that she hasn't forgotten about you and always will find time to make sure that needs are met. The Director of Admissions Arianne will always help you with anything that you ask her, if she can't, she will direct you to the right person. Business office Anne will work with you for any financial matters effectively. The Administrator Jon, he makes time to ask residents how we are doing and always open to talking about any concerns and always ready to listen. Last, but not the least the kitchen staff who always prepares good food and they'll give you whatever you want base on your diet (of course). I live here happy and content. I have had experience with other skilled nursing facilities whose employees for the most part were blasé at best. Edgewater is by far the best I have encountered in terms of personnel. I selected the place for care for my father even though there was another place within walking distance to my home. To give you just one example, the director gave me his home phone number while he was ready to go on vacation in case I had any questions. This is my second time being here. I requested it once My Dr. Told me that I needed to go to a rehab place after having major back surgery. The staff are so kind and friendly. They also have an amazing Therapy program. In two weeks post OP, they got me. From barely able to turn my self in bed to up, walking, and climbing up and down stairs. I had a little glitch,but the director came to talked to me, and it was completely resolved that day. The entire staff work very good together. All wereI highly efficient and kind. A dear friend of mine stayed at Edgewater for several weeks. I was worried at first because my husband had had an unpleasant experience at a skilled nursing facility in another state, and because she is is not always the easiest person. There was no need for me to worry! They bent over backwards to take care of her. Everyone could not have been more patient and considerate -- Kim, Maria, the nurses, the therapy team, just everyone. The only problem is the doctor kicked her out earlier than I wanted, but it was actually her insurance! Edgewater has my vote -- a truly big thank you to everyone there. read more

THANK YOU "EDGEWATER" for recently taking the best care of myself & my 94-year-old Mother. My Mother was treated then released from a major hospital in Long Beach. Upon release she needed further treatment and Physical Therapy. EDGEWATER helped my brother & I with my Mom earlier last year, so we felt comfortable sending her back to Edgewater. However, within 2 weeks of her becoming ill, unexpectedly I became extemely ill myself. Upon my discharge, the attending physician wanted me to have additional care and physical therapy. He suggested I go to a Nursing Center prior to going home. Ironically, Edgewater arranged for my Mother and I to share the same (double) room. I would like to THANK Jonathan Chapman (Administrator), and his awesome staff for the excellent care they rendered to my Mother, Mrs. Lula M. Jones and myself. Our physical movement has vasly improved due to the incredible Physical Therapy Department there under the direction of Winnie Testai. I will forever be thankful for Kevin & Ashley's help. Their nursing staff has superstars like: (Rommel R.N.), Leana (R.N.); Gilliane, Al, & Adam LVNs; and CNAs like: Maria, "Mama" Rosa, Gayle & Carla. This place is a scam. They said they will take care of my Dad but they didn't, instead they put my Dad's life in danger. Right now my Dad is in coma with life support. They didn't take my Dad to the hospital right away when my family asked them too, things could've been prevented but now it's too late.... And I just found out that they didn't checked my Dad's bowel movement because he has a lot on his stomach, that's one of the main reason why my Dad's ammonia level gone up, that's what it shows on his ultrasound. And that Dr.Low who didn't take my Dad's health seriously, YOU SHOULDN'T be a doctor at all. I don't know how many lives you have saved but it looks like you don't give a shit with your patients. This nursing home, their patien is nothing but numbers to them. Instead of prolonging my Dad's life, they did it the other way. Their so many red flags that happened , now they are covering up their asses. I will never forgive this place!! This is completely NEGLIGENCE!!!! read more

Staff is friendly and caring but service can be slow at times which I'm sure is due to under staffing. It takes too long for a sick person to be started on an antibiotic due to state rules and regulations; therefore, don't get sick if you go there. Food is awful. No fresh vegetables. All veggies looked and tasted canned. Turkey sandwich was made out of pressed, formed turkey. Never saw my mom served a meal that looked edible. read more

The place itself is nice but more into letting them rest than rehab. I was trying to move my mother to another facility and when they tried, this facility said that the "family didn't want to move her until the weekend" which was a lie. They tried to enforce a 7 day minimum and when that didn't work they pulled this stunt. read more

I am no stranger to rehab and nursing facilities as my mother has been placed in several. Most rehab facilities leave a lot to be desired either terrible people skills or food that is not fit for your own dog let alone a loved one. However I must say Edgewater has helped me and my family tremendously. My mother loved it here the staff and the residents. She stayed here about 1-1/2 years ago and really liked it. Recently she broke her hip (3 weeks ago) and we had need of a rehab facility again and my first choice was Edgewater however they were full. She currently is at another facility that is beyond bad (they will also get a yelp review but not so nice) I hope something opens up at Edgewater i would love to move my mother back. read more
