Each side was clearly labeled, so I could easily figure out where my theater was located. There was a friendly employee standing at each doorway too, to assist and scan as necessary. The lobby was small but still had a decent sized concession area. The popcorn smelled fresh and had I not just eaten, I probably would have gotten some! I made my way to my theater and found the seats to be fairly comfortable. I love how they recline! The theater was also very clean, so the staff does a great job with this! No stickiness or leftover food was found on my seat! The theater had both good picture and sound quality. I didn't see anything premium that needed enhancements, though. Parking was easy when I got there in their giant and free lot, located in the mall. When I left in the evening, the lot had filled up, but there were still some spots available. The view of the marina just steps away is gorgeous and there are also some restaurants and shops and even a gym here to enjoy before or after a film! I love the convenience of this AMC and would return again the next time I'm in the area!

I've been to other AMC's that have just brushed my issue off, had no idea how to resolve it, or couldn't point me in the right direction. truly can't say enough how floored i was by their care, support, and follow through; it really shows just how supportive and knowledgeable the team here is. Already can't wait to come back for the next movie!

Friday the 13th found us sitting on graves while watching Rocky Horror on a large inflated screen while the Long Beach Art Theatre cast performed along with movie. Yes, there was literally dancing on graves going on here. The gravestones were interesting to read while we waited for the performance to start. Most of them were from a hundred years ago! The doors opened at 6:30 and the performance and movie started at 9, giving the audience time to enjoy a picnic or visit the food trucks parked in the graveyard. (Now that's a phrase I never thought I would write.) Four food trucks were there next to the port-a-potties. I didn't see anything saying that you could or couldn't bring alcohol, but a lot of people had alcohol out in the open, so I guess it's okay. Our neighbors even popped a bottle of champagne. Some tips for movie night: Come early if you want good parking. Late comers have to park across the street. Drive a small car if you can. The graveyard driveway is pretty narrow. It got pretty chilly in the later hours, so I suggest bringing jackets/blankets. Bring a low back chair,as taller chairs need to go to the back or side. Future films include: June 27: Pink Floyd The Wall July 11: Pulp Fiction July 25: Psycho August 8: Fight Club August 22: Donnie Darko September 5: The Shining Thanks to Yelp OC for the tickets!

Parking: Since the theater is located at Lakewood Center, there is plenty of free parking nearby. The lot can get busy during big movie premieres and in the evening or on weekends, but I've never had too much trouble finding a spot within a reasonable walking distance. Food: The concession stand has all the movie essentials fresh popcorn, candy, nachos, hot dogs, and drinks. The prices are pretty reasonable for a movie theater. You can't go wrong with buttery popcorn and an Icee! Ambience: The theater has a relaxed, nostalgic neighborhood movie theater feel. The auditoriums are spacious, the reserved seating makes everything easier, and it's usually clean and comfortable. It may not have all the bells and whistles of some luxury theaters, but it delivers where it counts: a comfortable seat, a big screen, and an enjoyable movie experience. Theater 1 is EPEX with reclined seats however they have updated some of their other rooms with new leather seats. Pricing: This is where Starlight truly shines! They offer $5 in-person movie tickets all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus Sundays before 6 p.m. That is an incredible deal, especially when regular movie tickets at other theaters can easily cost twice as much. Purchasing online includes an additional service fee, so buying your ticket at the theater is the best value. Overall, Starlight Cinemas is a great option for an affordable family outing, date night, or solo movie day. Good parking, classic movie snacks, a comfortable atmosphere, and unbeatable bargain days make this theater worth visiting again and again.
