Their prices are reasonable with many special LTO's and discounts. Their Scorecard is their rewards program to earn discounts after spending certain amounts. I went there for one thing--- a bicycle. Dick's had put out a flyer offering 2 types of Schwinn bikes at 50% off. The problem is their website and store didn't have the same offer. After contacting their customer service, I had a note offering a "price match" in which they honored the 50% price. A special call-out to Chris Campbell, one of their service technicians, who did an excellent job adjusting the gears and brakes during the safety check. He did a great job explaining the safe operation and maintenance of the bike. As a precaution, I took out their warranty for the free tune up and safety inspections. Check out was quick and easy.

For years, they've offered a 15% local discount to residents of Seabrook, Kiawah, and lower Johns Island. Their sister stores in Freshfields offer the same. For years, I've shown my license and been granted a 15% discount, as I live about 1 mile from the store on Johns Island. I live closer than any Kiawah residents (Cassique is 2 miles), while the Marsh Oak condos at Bohicket Marina (Seabrook) are indeed closer than my house. This year I was told by management that they "never" offered discounts to anyone other than Seabrook Club or Kiawah Club members with a Club card. My years of receipts prove otherwise. It's hard for me to continue to support a local business when they are claiming they never had a policy that existed. It's fine if they choose to change their policy, but please do not lie about it.

Based on that conversation, he suggested several different options and explained why each might be a good fit. We ended up going with the On Cloud shoes he recommended, and they were perfect. It was honestly refreshing to work with someone who genuinely cared about helping us find the right shoe instead of just making a sale. They missed part of the issue (popped tire) causing delays in getting the right items to fix the issue. The Ugly: big storm came and further delayed the parts they ordered. Their bike techs only worked part-time. They did not communicate status with me. The Good: after a month, they did fix it nice. They actually did a better job than I expected, going above and beyond to make it right. They did not charge me for the parts or the repair. They earned themselves a customer, and I ended-up buying a pair of shoes from them. Overall, I give them 4 stars for fixing my bike and making the situation right. But they lose a star for lack of communication.
