Outstanding barbecue! This is my favorite edleys location. We have been to a few in Nashville and somehow the Chattanooga location is just leaps and bounds better. Let's start with the meat: it's AMAZING. this is my favorite pulled pork sandwich. The bun is delicious, filled with a huge pile of mouth-watering pulled pork and then topped with their coleslaw and two pickles. It comes lightly sauced, but I also drown it in the spicy ghost pepper sauce. This sandwich is perfection. We also usually get the brisket, which is delicious and also ranks amongst the best brisket you can get anywhere. We have not tried the ribs yet but I've heard they are one of their best meat items. The sides: Edleys has outdone themselves with their sides. The grits casserole is worth a trip all on its own. This spicy, creamy goodness is simply the best grits I've ever had. I'm not usually a fan of grits but whatever they've done to this dish is amazing. The Mac n cheese is great. The baked beans are delicious, cooked with pork. The potato salad is quite unique, it comes served as big hunks of red potatoes with bacon bits in their ranch sauce. It's one of the best potato salads I've ever had, tastes very homemade and is not like the kind you might find at the grocery store prepared foods aisle. The menu is pretty big and I will have to go back many more times to try it all. It's a challenge I gladly look forward to. If you're in Chattanooga, definitely stop in at this location! read more

Wonderful experience!!! The bartenders were fabulous and entertaining. They did a great job of giving us info to help us choose drinks that we might like. Everything I ordered was really good and well cooked! I had the catfish with greens. (Don't judge the combination! I just eat what I like) The catfish was cooked to perfection. Did not like it. It's just not my style- lackluster pork, meh bbq sauce, sweet cornbread, poppyseed vinegar slaw with bell peppers in it, and sad boring beans. What can I say... I am southerner with very specific ideals about barbecue. It should be smokey and juicy, slaw should be made with mayo, baked beans should be sweet and sticky, and you don't dick around with sugar in our cornbread. That's called cake. And if you're serving cake, take the bell peppers out and give me some icing... just don't lie to me about what's on my plate. Ain't right. Also, why was there bell peppers in ev.er.y.thing? If you want some of the best BBQ around you come to Edleys. Ive had bbq in a ton of places, nothing tops the atmosphere and the staff to begin with. Charlie at the bar is great, has great recommendations, super friendly and then the food comes out and every bite was a new adventure in flavortown. Wife got the tuck special sandwich and it was some of the best brisket ive had in some time. She said the sides we're very good. I had the half rack served their way. No choice. I like a dry Memphis style. Not an option. We had the fried okra. It was good but a bit under cooked and greasy. Yet another staple of Nashville has migrated south to Chattanooga and I'm not mad at all about it. The food served at Edley's was much better quality than I was expecting for a high-volume barbeque restaurant. It's a bit confusing that you can either order at the counter of have a waiter serve you. At times, I wasn't sure if I should go get what I needed or wait to ask our server. Other than that small issue, this place rocks! I had the Burnt Ends Platter with grits casserole and baked beans. Normally, I am not a grits kind of guy but this grits casserole is amazing and really complemented the sauce on the burnt ends. The sauce actually had quite a bit of kick to it, but was by no means too spicy. The combo of the meat, sauce, grits and beans definitely warrants a repeat. First visit was full of expectation based on great word of mouth. Was.Not.Disappointed. Got burnt end platter with grits and Cole Slaw. 1 disappointment...fried okra is not a side, only an appetizer. That needs to be fixed. Burnt ends are very rich in flavor. Spicy sauce with it atop The grits. Suggest emptying Cole Slaw on plate with your fork and eat them together. Don't pour Cole Slaw out though, liquid is very sweet. I think it was supposed to come with cornbread but didn't get it. Just remembering that as I type and too full to call them on it. Bar is well stocked. As a bourbon guy, I see many of my favorites. Whiskey fans in general will be pleased although I don't see a scotch or Irish display. Plenty of craft beers on tap. The Blackberry Farms Saison was a good pair. Ample porch dining for good weather. Large indoor area. Lots of TVs barside. Did I miss anything? Then find out for yourself. Lemme be clear, right from the start: Edley's is not my favorite BBQ in town. But for the total package-- service, ambiance, bar and food-- they make the top of my list. And we keep going back, time and time again. The food is consistently good, the service is great. We've tried everything from their nachos to brisket to turkey-- all tasty. And don't forget the banana pudding! It's OMG good. We've especially loved sitting in the bar area as their bartenders are awesome (and they have Bearded Iris Homestyle on draft so that is a huge plus too!) We also really appreciate the little play area out on the patio for baby girl. She can play while we relax with our brews-- win-win! This is on our permanent rotation, for sure. read more

Very impressive so far. Service is fantastic. Decided to go with the Nashville-Style BBQ which is apparently spicy hot. Got it home...this is some of the best BBQ pulled pork I have had! Bravo! The sauce that goes with it had the perfect amount of heat & wasn't sweet (I don't prefer overly sweet sugary sauces). The slaw accompanied it perfect. The music is way too loud inside. We overheard another family asking why the music was so loud and they decided to brave the cold on the patio. When we asked the staff if they could turn it down, we were told they aren't allowed to and that it's all controlled by the owner. That being said, we do love the food. read more

We ordered take out. It was fast and the service was great. However, upon returning to our hotel we discovered were missing parts of the order but what we did receive was okay. The brisket was dry, and we only received a very small cup of their sauce, which was arguably the best part of the meal. The chicken portion of the three star platter was the second best part of the meal, followed by the corn bread and potato salad. Giving them the benefit of the doubt as they seemed busy and we picked up an hour and a half before closing. We did not complain about what we missed simply because we knew they were busy and agreed it was an oversight. We would try here again if we come to Chattanooga in the future, just not for take out. read more

I went to Edley's for the first time yesterday and sat outside since it was not that hot. There were kids having fun playing in small houses. People had leashed dogs and it was a relaxed atmosphere. You order at the cash register and get your own soft drinks. I ordered wings with dry rub and buffalo sauce on side for an appetizer. They were some of the best wings I have ever had. The sauce reminded me of Walt's on Bonny Oaks. My son had the Nashville hot chicken platter with grit casserole and green beans. Best grits he's ever had. The chicken was fresh, but had a dry rub, not a sauce. A little disappointing. I had the Nashville hot pulled pork with grit casserole and banana pudding. The pork was too hot. I normally like medium and this was too much. The grit casserole and banana pudding were amazing. I loved I could order the banana pudding as a side.
