This is my second review in the last few years, but in case anyone needed reminding, this place is great. Fun atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, and yummy food!! My wife had her usual hot chicken tacos and loved them. Kids had Mac n cheese and split a pork sand. They gobbled it down with some lemonade. I had sides of grits casserole and potato salad, simply cannot get enough of this. For my main course I tried the Tuck Sand. I had mine with brisket, but you can get other meats instead. Comes with white and red bbq sauce, a fried egg and spicy pimento cheese. I cannot truly express how messy and delish this sand is. I am already planning a return trip when we travel home. My hubby stopped here on our way home from TN. I loved the location and the look of the restaurant. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we got a seat outside. I ordered the wings with white barbecue sauce, baked beans and potatoe salad. I've had smoked wings with White barbecue sauce at a different restaurant in TN and I loved it! However, the white bbq sauce here was tasteless. Absolutely no seasoning. The wings were smoked nicely. But I was disappointed in the sauce. The sides were great. Environment: We were looking for a good lunch spot to bring our fur baby to, so we came to Edleys. There's lots of outdoor seating and there were quite a few dogs, which was nice. I also seen a play area for children. Ordering process: You order your food yourself and someone will bring it out to you. Food: The banana pudding was delicious and chicken was fresh & spicy. The mac & cheese was okay, and my bf didn't care for the coleslaw, but overall, the food was good. I wish the menu description of the nachos mentioned that they are potato chips, but hey, now we know for next time. Ambiance was good, I enjoyed the indoor/outdoor bar, the patio and the music choices. You can bring dogs on the patio. 4 stars because I didn't have an extra or exceptional experience. Straightforward transaction, stand in line to order, seat yourself, wait, get food and eat. The food itself I felt the same, nothing to write home about. Not bad but nothing I couldn't live without. I ordered brisket nachos - the tomatoes were delectably fresh but the cheese (unsure of type) was a liquid and was sitting all together at the bottom of my dish. Below my chips. I recommend if you want to sit outside, enjoy a cold beer, listen to music and not get bothered. If you're looking to bring your out-of-town friends to an amazing southern BBQ place they're going to talk about 5 years from now, I would look elsewhere. read more

My cousin and I stopped by Edley's for some barbecue. I got the Hot Pork Tacos and my cousin got the brisket plate. Both were very delicious. The hot pork tacos had many toppings. Made a drive from Georgia just to try it out. I was disappointed in the ribs. They were over-seasoned with rub and were just ok. Actually, Texas Roadhouse ribs are much better. The coke slaw was just shredded cabbage with no creaminess. The baked beans were very good but should have had more brisket added. The mac and cheese was also a disappointment. It was bland and tasted like something from a box. Great atmosphere and I really wanted to like this place, but sorry, I will try another place instead next time. read more

I like this place. I've been here twice while passing through Chattanooga and it's been a pleasant experience both times. Their sides are what I recommend trying. They're really good, but a little expensive for the portions you get. The inside is neat, and if the weather is nice the deck is a perfect spot to eat. The staff is very professional and friendly, and the bathrooms and overall facility are well-maintained. Clean and positive experience, no complaints there. I'd be willing to check it out again as I'd like to try more of the food. read more

Great Smoked Wings. They were scrumptious ! We ate the Honey Buffalo and the Dry Rub Wings with Blue Cheese and Alabama White Sauce. Picked it up to go after ordering online. Everything was ready, checked again for accuracy and packed well. The wing platter had 2 sides. We chose cornbread and bean salad. I love Edley's. So much on the menu to choose from. The service is top notch. Never have to wait very long.

It's pretty easy to find, and there is a lot of parking available. Some is next to the building, but most is in a large lot. The handicapped parking spots are pretty far from the actual handicapped entrance ramp. I don't think this is the restaurant's fault. I'm sure they needed to have designated spaces, but the entire retail area didn't put handicapped entrances near all the designated parking spots. Since the retail space is an old warehouse, you need to climb stairs to get there or use the ramp halfway to the other side. We walked in through the rear of the patio area and were not quite sure where to go. If we would have entered at the corner of the building, there is plenty of signage. You order at the rear counter. Plenty of menus are available, and they also have specials posted behind the counter. Once you order, find a seat and they will bring your food. Everything was served in those tin pie pan-type dishes. The Brisket sandwich was nicely made. The brisket was flavorful and moist. Selected sides included beans and slaw. The beans were very good, with bits of pork visible, and noticeable in the flavor. The beans were a bit mushy, but not bad. The slaw is halfway between sweet and sour. It's fine, but I would have preferred one or the other. The chicken platter is 1/2 chicken with two sides. The chicken was moist and tender, and really good. The selected sides were mac and cheese, and corn. The mac and cheese was pretty good, but had thickened considerably. The flavor was still good. The corn is sort of a Mexican style corn, and quite good. The Tuck Special is a brisket sandwich topped with pimento cheese and an egg. I didn't get a chance to sample this, but was told it was good although the pimento cheese sort of got lost on the sandwich. Sides were beans and mac and cheese. The pork tacos were a last minute choice. They were probably the best of the selections. The pork was moist and very tender, with a lot of flavor. The pico de gallo was a nice addition which did not overpower the meat, but added a nice mild spiciness. The selected sides were mashed potatoes and green beans. The mashed potatoes were very well done, made with the skins still on. They were creamy without being watery, and had a nice flavor. The green beans were a bit bland, but after all, they are green beans. This is a nice place with an active staff and lots of seating options. The food is good and reasonably priced. With so many choices, this place definitely deserves a look. read more

Went to enjoy a spring evening with some BBQ. Our 2 meals arrived cold all around, beans, proteins, fries and beans. When mentioning to server, she became very rude. After only 2 minutes server rudely returned with food saying it was new... but there were signs that it was obviously just reheated... ie... the soft taco tortilla was now dried up. They consistently have moist and tasty pulled pork, coleslaw that is not too sweet or vinegary, collard greens, awesome green beans, delicious baked beans among other things. Edley's Bar-B-Que - Pulled Pork Sandwich with 2 Sides (Potato Salad and Baked Beans) - Barbeque Near Me - Chattanooga, Tennessee

Surprisingly very good! We weren't expecting much at all from Edley's Bar-B-Que, but after wrapping up a day of hiking in the hot sun, we were just ready for some food to take back to the hotel. Enter Edley's, which was just a half a mile away from us. When we walked in, Edley's had a live band playing, pretty loud, but pretty decent music, and apparently it's a common thing. The house was jam packed, though if you're getting things to go, you go to the bar for that. We ordered the following: Burnt ends platter ($12) Hot chicken platter ($11) Starting with the burnt ends, which are the more fatty parts of brisket ends, charred and served, we were told these go fast. I thought these were well seasoned, and while they weren't the most tender version of this dish for me, they were respectable. Along with the platter comes 2 sides and cornbread. I got their banana pudding and baked beans. Banana pudding was really good, the vanilla wafers were kinda soggy. Flavor was definitely there. The baked beans was also good, with little strips of delicious meat mixed in, but these were much more soupy than I would have liked. The hot chicken tender platter came with 3 large chicken tenders and also 2 sides. The chicken tenders had a slow burn, and in fact many of the other menu items were more spicy. The chicken tenders were cooked nicely though, and seasoned well. For the hungry, the tenders WERE large and will fill you up without the sides, but there are sides! We got, for sides here mac and cheese, and cole slaw. Mac and cheese was definitely cheesy, and had good flavor. The coleslaw was more of a vinegar based slaw, and this was pretty good! I should say that they got our side order wrong and put grits casserole in without giving us mac and cheese. They not only gave us the mac and cheese, but let us keep the casserole on the house. Sadly, I didn't like the flavor of the grits. These were under seasoned, however since we didn't pay for these, I wont ding them for that. Customer service was great with lots of good suggestions and help. They were pretty fast as well! Parking here is in a shared lot, so spots should be easy to find. We didn't struggle to find any. Ultimately, we walked in with very low expectations and were pretty satisfied with our dinner even if it were to go. I'd happily come back whenever we return to Chattanooga. The tip would have been more. Waitress #2 Black hair...did manage to ask how things were in an somewhat appropriate timely matter. Meal pricing was interesting...unknown la carte. I ordered a RIB PLATTER, which usually INCLUDES 2-sides, so I thought... NOT SO HERE. THE FINE PRINT IS $18 [ half ribs, ONLY] PLUS EXTRA FEE FOR THE 2 SIDES....WOW...SMH. Im accustom to a PLATTER that INCLUDES 2 SIDES FOR ONE PRICE. ..NO EXTRA. UNFORTUNATELY the waitress did not make this clear. The ribs - were good...fall off the bone. BBQ when you're in the southern part of the country is a must. We were looking for somewhere new (to us) to try for this trip to Chattanooga, and Edley's won the coin toss. Not gonna lie, we almost walked out within minutes of walking in. Why? Well, I had my service dog with me, and an employee chastised me for bringing her inside immediately upon our entrance. She rudely informed me that they are 'only' pet friendly on the patio. Sigh. Cool, well she isn't a pet thanks. Anyway, this place is the kind of joint where you order at the counter... which is all the way in the back in a darkish corner. It isnt immediately obvious that this is how things work here, either. A sign or perhaps a nice person near the door to direct people would have been nice. Needless to say, we ordered. Then, someone beought us our food. I had the ribs with sides of mac and cheese and baked beans. The ribs were tender and had a great smoky flavor, but I didn't love the weird drizzle of sauce on them. Either put sauce or don't ya'll. This was like just a taste and it was annoying. The mac and cheese was good, but I was not a fan of the baked beans. They're very different than your 'typical' baked beans and just weren't my cup of tea. The cornbread has jalapenos in it and one of the people in our party found it (and the bbq sauce) too spicy. Just fyi. It wasn't real busy when we went, yet the floor was fairly dirty and so were a lot of the tables. I find myself wanting to come back to Edley's to try something new but I always end up getting the brisket. I tell myself to expand my horizons but it always pulls me back right before I'm about to order... although in my defense, with their brisket being consistently juicy and melt-in-your-mouth tender, it's really hard to say no. The restaurant seems to always be packed when I come here and with good reason; there's a sweet smokey smell that surely draws the crowds in and the food is delightful. The first time I went I asked for the BBQ sauce on the side for my ribs but my ribs came extremely dry... very disappointing... good ribs are supposed to be juicy and slide off the bone easily... that was not the case. Not a good start for a BBQ place. The second time I went, because I didn't know of any other BBQ places in town , they were out of ribs and brisket... WHAT?? What BBQ place has no ribs or brisket?? And they didn't have it displayed anywhere we just found out as we ordered in line... I walked out of there immediately...
