The staff was incredibly friendly, especially my waitress, Sarah. She was so kind and made me feel completely comfortable, which meant a lot to me as someone eating alone for the first time. She truly made the whole experience that much better! And the food... WOW. Every bite was packed with flavor, and I absolutely chowed down The fries were perfect, and I loved the Cajun seasoning on them. The smash burger was delicious and cooked perfectly -- although it was definitely a little messy, so consider yourself warned haha. The mozzarella sticks had an AMAZING cheese pull, and the sauce was absolutely divine. And then there was dessert. Let's just say it was probably meant to feed two people... but I ate the entire thing by myself because it was THAT good. Overall, I couldn't have picked a better restaurant for my first night and my first solo dining experience. Great food, wonderful staff, and such a comfortable atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

We were tolerated, not welcomed or even checked on to see if we wanted anything. I waited and waited for her to notice me at about ten feet away as I waved my empty beer can in hopes of getting a second one. Finally I had to interrupt the conversation between the waitresses by raising my voice above their conversation, "excuse me, may I have another?" Again, we were there early today. Just before 5:00 PM. That is how timing works when you are on the road. So the place was nearly empty. They weren't busy with customers. They were busy chatting amongst themselves. As we completed our fried chicken (still very good), she came by and did not ask if we wanted anything else but simply said "ready for the check?" It was a way to make us feel like we needed to leave. To add insult to injury, we passed by the hostess table outside on our way to the car as we left and we happened to pass between two Champy's young female employees chatting at the hostess station and blocking the way out. We had to say "excuse me" and walk between then as they kept talking to each other. Never did they bother to say "thanks for coming, please come back soon." So maybe after all this time...we won't.

After a short wait, our food was brought out. This was truly one of the best salmon dishes I have ever eaten! The salmon was cooked to my liking, the potatoes were soft and fluffy and the fried Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine and perfect. The remoulade was a little salty but it may have been just been my taste. The potatoes helped with that so it was not a deal breaker. My guy was pleased with his food as well and I could tell he enjoyed everything he ate. We agreed that we would take this trip back just to eat this meal again. It was truly a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. I highly recommend trying this gem out! Pro Tip: The restaurant validates parking. If you park in the lot across the street, do not prepay on the app or online. Ask the servers at the front to validate to save the $18 parking fee before you order and within 15 minutes after entering. You walk in and you choose your table and a nice waitress will bring your menus. We like the chicken strip basket which comes with two sides. Of our favorites are the fries, the collard greens, green beans, and mac and cheese. The chicken strips are very crispy, the meat is just a little dry but the flavor is great with even the mild level heat having nice heat. We also got the catfish which has a perfect crust and perfectly cooked inside. The baskets come with sauce and you get two per order. Probably more than you'll need. You get great food for an affordable price. Good Southern service. Just all around one of our faves.
