Both sections were extremely nice and inviting: took mine to go but I can promise you it'd have been even more than a 5/5 if I sat down and had a meal there. Highly recommend!!! -Ribs and brisket platter: 5/5 Trying brisket in 4 states and 5 different styles I'll say the cuts I was given were well paired with sauce which compliments the brisket, but it honestly doesn't need it.... Collagen that melts as you bite into the fatty part and melt in your mouth tenderness that's just a smokers craft. Ribs were fall off the bone, flavorful, and just well done. BBQ sauce was well paired with it but would like to try some different sauces to complement it differently than the brisket. The potato salad was astounding, but the Cole slaw.... Probably tied for best slaw I had on the trip. Overall, THIS is the place you go for BBQ in TN. There's a ton of reviews for other places, but this is where the locals go. Donelson has a gem with Edley's here. I would venture to say that this location is a perfect spot for trying Tennessee style bbq first hand and loving every bit of it! This is another respectable outlet of this local barbecue joint. The fried okra here is really good! And the mac and cheese is unusually intriguing with subtleties of maybe peppers and even something slightly sweet in the crispy breadcrumb topping. It's pleasantly complex. I think the best dish at the Donelson Edley's is the brisket. Some of those cuts have the perfect balance of a salty, fatty edge and hearty, smoky meat. The worst dish is certainly the ribs. They're extremely dry, even with barbecue sauce, and don't have a good flavor at all. But Edley's is a good addition to what was once a pretty desolate food scene in Donelson. I gave Edley's BBQ two chances, and unfortunately both experiences were disappointing. On Father's Day, I stopped by for a to-go order. There was no clear signage indicating where to place to-go orders if you're parked in the main lot behind the restaurant. After figuring that out, I ordered a chicken sandwich and specifically requested it plain. The order was entered correctly on the receipt. When I got back to my hotel and took a bite, I discovered it had pickles on it. I hate pickles. Unfortunately, it was late and the restaurant had already closed, so I couldn't return it. The next day, I decided to give Edley's another chance since it's close to my hotel. This time, I ordered a cheeseburger plain with cheese only. Again, the receipt was correct. I got back to my hotel, took a bite, and once again found pickles on my burger. At that point, I drove back to the restaurant for a replacement. The cashier seemed very nonchalant about the situation. I explained that my Father's Day meal had also been made incorrectly and that this was now the second day in a row with the same mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, but getting a simple plain order wrong twice in a row is frustrating. Based on these experiences, I won't be returning. I'd rather drive an extra 10 minutes to a fast-food restaurant than take another chance here. Update: As of July 7, 2026, I still have not received any response from the establishment after being advised to contact Mr. Gustavo by email which I did on 06/28. I have checked my inbox as well as my Spam and Junk folders, and there has been no communication. I also want to point out that this was technically the third attempt to resolve this matter and hopefully get things handled correctly. Unfortunately, this has been very disappointing. read more

Great Spot For Barbecue I stopped into Edleys on Lebanon Pike to try out some of their barbecue dishes. This location is close to BNA and hotels near the airport. Edley's has locations in Nashville and other areas of Tennessee. On this visit, I was looking for something different from my usual barbecue staple,s which are brisket, ribs and steaks. I ordered the Chicken Platte,r which comes with half a smoked chicken, a side of beans, coleslaw, corn bread and pickles. The chicken was very flavourful and was a very healthy portion, and I was almost unable to try the beans and the cornbread. Overall, it was a decent-sized meal that I was barely able to finish. My first visit to Edley's was fantastic! There are a few parking spots in the front for pickup orders, but plenty of parking behind the building. This location has a laid back, casual vibe with counter service and a full bar. I visited on a busy weekday evening, but the line to order moved quickly. After grabbing our drinks, it was only a few minutes before our food arrived. I ordered the smoked turkey plate with green beans, mac n cheese and cornbread. The turkey was smoked to perfection and was a huge portion. The mac n cheese had a great breadcrumb topping. I don't usually like coleslaw, but the small side that arrived with my meal was delicious!! Our group also tried the BBQ fries, which were incredible. The brisket was tender enough but didn't have much depth or smoke. The ribs were nicely cooked and tender, but again, light on seasoning. Beans were good, potato salad was decent, and the smash burger landed somewhere in the middle. The ordering setup wasn't my favorite -- ordering before sitting down and having to go to the bar for a beer took away from the experience. Nothing was bad, but nothing really popped either. This time we tried different things my husband had the turkey platter with green beans and baked beans. The Brisket came with a little sauce in it, but it was really good plain. Tender and melt in your mouth. Excellent Brisket. The potato salad was very good with large chunks of potato and awesome flavor. The coleslaw was different, but good. Not my favorite and kind of sour, a little different, but would probably go best with pulled pork. The turkey was an absolute amazing surprise. This was real turkey breast, not that pieced together lunch meat they smoke and slice. This was incredibly delicious and worth it. My wife also got the Brisket Platter with beans and potato salad. She loved everything. Unfortunately I found out the turkey is not the same at all the locations. That was incredibly disappointing. I would definitely return to this location. Highly recommended by multiple sources, we ventured from Opryland to Edley's BBQ prior to hitting the Grand Ole Opry. I know we are tourists, but we definitely enjoyed our time in music city, hanging with the locals and devouring some great food. Tennessee BBQ (ribs and brisket) at this joint is saucy, super tender, full of meat flavor and nicely coupled with some ice cold craft beer. Loved the coleslaw, collard greens and corn bread too. Pricing seemed reasonable, and although you stand in line to order, the follow up service was super attentive and all of the staff were pleasant. We came here for a short weekend trip and had to get some good barbecue that is hyped up in this city! It was very confusing to order and the lady was pretty impatient with us so we got everything. We got the platter with one of each meats of ribs, brisket, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, corn, fries and banana pudding. My favorite was the pulled pork and ribs- both tender and flavorful. The brisket was a little fatty and tough which was not to my liking. For the sides the mashed potatoes and corn were disgusting (also not a fan of sweet potatoes and the corn was watery). The banana pudding was a 100000/10. I never had pudding before and that was life changing. The mac and cheese and fries were average. Overall for the price and quality this place is worth it! The lady taking the orders was initially not very welcoming, however, I had to understand that she probably has to deal with indecisive people all day. Our server was awesome though so it balanced out staff experience. The food was just ok. I did not like the mac n cheese nor the string beans. The brisket was tender but flavorless without sauce. It was alright , didn't really have any flavor, we had the combo platter -pulled pork, chicken, Brisket and added on the jalapeño sausage with coleslaw and Mac and cheese. Pulled pork was bland no flavor really, the pulled chicken wasn't bad, probably the best meat on the platter. Brisket was over cooked, and really dry hard to swallow. Went here for dinner last night and was pleasantly surprised. Being a Texan, BBQ on the road is sometimes questionable but Edley's delivered a stellar product. The restaurant feels like a typical BBQ house in Texas, great decor, good vibes and sweet smoky smell. I had the 2 meat plate, lean brisket and sausage and both were absolutely on point. The sauce had a good little kick to it making it the perfect compliment to the Smokey meats. The beans were called baked beans, but were more like good pinto beans with a sweet taste, they were very good. The service was good, there are no waitstaff, you order when you walk in, they give you a number and then a runner brings your food, drinks are self serve, so its hard to judge service so i will leave it at good. First time here after seeing Edley's on Fox News but not exactly the same location this one was closer to our hotel. They have several locations to choose from. We arrived on Wednesday at 4:00 and it was 25% full. I ordered the burnt ends with Mac and cheese, was good a bit too much bread crumbs, the cornbread a bit dry, the burnt ends moist and tasty and the grits were good. I give my meal a 4. The wife had a juicy 1/2 chicken with delicious-collard greens and awesome green beans. The cole slaw was a tasty vinegar dressing that I loved. I gave her dinner a 4.5. Pretty good. The chicken came with barbecue and Carolina white sauce on top. She asked if they could redo the chicken without the sauce, it came very quickly. A great meal for under $40. read more

The service was quick and efficient. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the cornbread. I'm used to having plain cornbread however this one has corn and another Ingredient inside. As soon as you walk into Edley's Bar-B-Que, you're immediately hit with that wonderful, smoky barbecue aroma that sets the tone for the meal. The layout was a bit confusing at first--we weren't quite sure where to go to order after parking--but a staff member quickly noticed our confusion and guided us in the right direction, which was much appreciated. Our food came out faster than expected. I ordered the catfish platter with the grits casserole and mac and cheese. The grits were excellent--perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. They weren't overpowering, but had enough kick to remind you that you're in a barbecue joint. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich, with a slight crunch from the topping that really brought it together. The star of the meal was definitely the catfish. It was very good, though it did have a slight fishy taste--if that makes sense--but it still stood out as the highlight of the plate. My only real gripe was the coleslaw. It wasn't anything special and felt more like an afterthought on the edge of the plate. I'm not a huge slaw fan to begin with, but this one was just okay. Overall, the value of the meal was very fair, and the experience was a positive one. We're already talking about coming back the next time we fly out of BNA. read more

Today our travels took us to "Nashvulle"! We were looking for a good bbq joint and came across Edlet's BBQ. It was about a hour to close, so we knew we were squeezing in. Upon entering, the lady that greeted us had a look disappointment that we wanted to dine in. She tried hard to get us to sit at the. At, which we did. To note, other tables had people sitting at them and there was still a hour of business. Upon sitting at the bar, the girl woman behind the bar seemed stretched thin. Took awhile to get our order taken. She was friendly and had recommendations. She did inform us they were out of chicken, which at that time of night wasn't too surprising. I ordered the sausage and brisket combo with 2 sides (baked beans and coleslaw). My wife got the burnt ends with baked beans and came with grits casserole. We ordered 1 banana pudding as an extra. Both dishes came with cornbread. The burnt ends were tender and really good with a nice burnt crust. The house bbq sauce was delicious! Little Smokey and a little sweet. The baked beans were tasty as well. The grits were good but there was just a very dense and heavy flavor... maybe cheddar or cream. Not sure. My brisket was tender and absolutely delicious. The sausage almost made me gag. I had to stop after the first bite. I hate cheese, and the platter didn't mention cheese sausage. Above it in another part of the menu it mentions you can add a jalapeño cheddar sausage for a few bucks.... But it doesn't say that for the platter. So I couldn't eat half of the combo. It should say in the description of each dish what you get. The coleslaw was very good. It tasted almost like apple vinegar. The corn bread on my platter was delicious. It was moist and very tasty. My wife's cornbread was absolutely disgusting and inedible. After she complained I tried a bite of hers and it was nothing like mine. I was biting into pure salt. I could hear, feel, and taste all the salt crunching in my teeth. We threw it out. As for service, not once in the hour we were there, did the bartender ask us how the food looked or tasted. She did offer a refill one time. The food did come out fast so there was that. Overall, the burnt ends and brisket were excellent!!! If you come here it is definitely worth checking out these options. I'm sure the pulled pork is good as well. The sausage should be clear what you get in the platter. I was expecting regular sausage, not cheese oozing out of it like crazy. My wife loves cheese and she couldn't eat it either because it seemed excessive. The pudding was good but very very thick and average. I'll give the brisket and burnt ends 5 stars, beans, pudding, and coleslaw 4 stars, grits 3 stars, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage -1 stars. The service is give 2 stars since we felt like an inconvenience. The manager said thank you but the our bartender/server did not. I asked for the bill and she never showed me it until after I gave her my card... she just asked for a card for payment. I wish I liked the big picture of Edley's, but I didn't.
