Nashville kind of has an identity crisis when it comes to barbecue. I think we truly have very poor options when it comes to barbecue in general in this city. However Edleys is FAR above the other chain options in my opinion. The interior looks similar to all the there big places. Wood paneling with artwork laden walls and a huge bar area. Let's start off with the ribs. Several other places in town have very lack luster and DRY ribs (yes I know dry rub is a style of ribs but if the meat itself is dry I am not interested). These still do have a little dryness to them, although not as bad as some of the other places in town I have been. I personally also do not believe barbecue sauce should carry the barbecue, the seasoning and smoky flavor is what makes good barbecue good. These are amazing, perfect blend of seasoning, sauce ratio, and the burnt ends near the bone are fabulous. Brisket is another one that is often far too dry in this city. This brisket is juicy, had the perfect fat content ratio, and smoky flavor. Many other chains in the city their brisket can be a mess of just fat, this is nicely balanced. The smoked sausage is also the best I have had of the big chains in the city, perfect snap, great smoky flavor that I always look for, the cheddar inside isn't overpowering and the jalapeño pieces add a nice kick. The grits are FANTASTIC Y'all. Cheddar cheese (I think?) with some form of pepper inside makes for a great balance and they aren't mushy which many grits can be. Mac and cheese is good. Nothing to die for or write home about but again better than some of the other chains in the city. Overall this is the only barbecue place I would recommend to visitors, besides a pit grill on the side of the road somewhere. Shoutout to the waiter Suzie for selecting these options for me today, I let her build my own dinner. Go early because the dinner line was insane at 6:30pm.

Amazing food and amazing service! The lady at the counter was so hospitable and helpful. She checked on me a few times during the meal and even offered to refill my drink for me. The meats were quality. I got the brisket and the ribs. Both were nice and tender. I'm usually very picky with meat texture, but they got it right. Even my leftovers were delicious after reheating. The ambiance is homey and casual. There's outdoor seating on the deck, a good amount of indoor seating, and a bar area.

We visited Edley's today after having a poor experience at an unrelated barbecue place in Nashville last night. Edley's restored our faith in barbecue in the area! We went overboard and got brisket, pulled pork, ribs, Mac, cornbread, and banana pudding. Everything was amazing!! The brisket is incredible but everything was delicious. I don't think I've like banana pudding until now. Employees were kind and attentive. The service was fast and the food was served hot. I would highly recommend giving Edley's a try!

We had a large party on Saturday, 9/28/24, at 5:30 pm. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. There was no wait because we got there so early, but it got packed. Fries were not listed on the menu, but they did have them and they were delicious. I got the Brisket Platter ($21). The brisket was great! I got it with the Mac & Cheese (+$1), which was super good and the Bean Salad because I didn't know they had fries. Wouldn't get the Bean Salad again. I also got corn bread and that was good too! The kids meal is such a good deal! The BBQ Sandwich was $4.50 for the sandwich, a side, and a drink! And it was enough for an adult portion! Everyone enjoyed what they got, including their cocktails! They have plenty of TVs to watch sports. Highly recommend!

Edley's in Sylvan Park is the best vibe. They have a great outdoor space and indoor bar area. You order at the front and the food comes FAST, even though the line can be long sometimes. As far as food goes, I've tried lots on the menu, but you MUST get the fried pickles to start. Any of the meat platters you get here you cannot go wrong with. Many local beers on draft and amazing Bushwackers. Only con is that when busy it can be nearly impossible to find parking in their small lot, but pro tip: park across the street at McCabe Park.

I love this Edley's location! It's in such a cute area, and they have plenty of seating indoor and outside! During dinner, you may have to wait in a bit of a line, but it moves very quickly! I recently discovered Edley's has some of the best wings I've ever had!! I've never had white bbq sauce before, and someone recommended I try it out. I decided to get them and I was not disappointed. I think about those wings often. They put just the right amount of sauce, and the actual wings have a lot of meat on them, and they're so juicy with just the right amount of crispiness. I usually get the bean salad to be a little healthy, but then I also get their Mac n cheese because I love their Mac! I never thought I'd order wings at a BBQ spot, but I will be getting those quite often now!

Never thought it would take 25 minutes ( ordered at 3:59... received it at 4:25) for a pork platter, two Mac and cheese and an extra cornbread. Not to mention 20 bucks. The place was empty. Everyone standing around while food sits there. Def will hesitate to come back... I like edleys but this experience left me perplexed. Top it off. I never got an apology for the long wait. Like geez I was hoping for. "Sorry about that wait..." no explanation either. I ordered before people came in to sit down and they received their food before I did. Ridiculous. I don't usually do bad reviews but holy smokes. I understand if it's a packed house but there wasn't. It gets 1 star for it being hot and not cold.

    Burnt Ends with grits casserole

! The burnt ends were tough and the casserole was bland. I tried the catfish, unfortunately no regular tartar sauce. All they had was a type of sauce with a lot of horseradish. The restaurant is crowded and chaotic!

The lighting, furniture, and wallpaper all come together perfectly and give the space a really stylish but comfortable vibe. There's also plenty of room inside, which makes it easy to relax without feeling cramped. Now let's talk about the food... because wow. We started with the fried pickles and they were some of the best I've had. The dipping sauce wasn't your typical ranch (I forgot to ask what it was), but whatever magic they put in it worked it was absolutely delicious. Then we moved on to the burgers. We tried the Juicy Burger and it truly lives up to the name. Every single bite was worth it. I personally had the Jalapeño Burger and let me tell you... get ready for some heat. If you're not used to spicy food, this one might test your limits. But the flavor was incredible. You could really taste that the burger was grilled, and it gave it that perfect smoky, savory flavor that makes a great burger stand out. The drinks were also fantastic. They have a huge selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. I had one of their mezcal cocktails and it was bartender's kiss. I also tried a couple of their spirits and everything was on point. Another thing I really appreciated was the noise level. There's music playing, but it's not overwhelming, you can still actually have a conversation without yelling across the table. That's always a win. They also have a nice outdoor patio if you want to sit outside. We went during the week, so it was lively but comfortable. I can only imagine this place really gets going on the weekends. If you're in town and looking for amazing food, great drinks, and a cool atmosphere, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

It is tucked in a neighborhood in the West End, and most people were surprised we found it or had heard of it as non-locals. It is a very popular spot. We arrived 20 minutes early and snagged the last parking spot in the lot behind the restaurant. Eric R. wanted to sit outside, so we were directed to wait at the bar until a table opened up. I got the cucumber sage yuzu spritz mocktail, and Eric R. got a local amber beer. Our table was ready within 10 or 15 minutes, so we migrated to it for dinner. Our server was helpful in providing recommendations. We started with three shareables: the mussels in lemongrass serrano beer broth and grilled bread, tempura long-stemmed artichokes on Calabrian chile mascarpone, and the lamb lollipops with pearled cous cous. I tasted the lamb, and it was heavenly, like melt-in-your-mouth tender but with a lot of caramelization. That was really Eric R.'s choice so I let him eat the majority of it. I really enjoyed the mussels and the artichokes! Everything was hot and delicious. I was sipping broth with a mussel shell when the bread ran out, and the host came out with more bread for us! It was so good. We asked to see a dessert menu. Eric R. had a tough choice between carrot cake and blondie with caramel ice cream, but was steered toward the blondie and did not regret it. I asked what the house made ice cream was for the day, and it was coconut matcha with a white chocolate shell topping. That sounded so perfect, and it was AMAZING. The evening was beautiful, the restaurant was lovely, the service was fantastic, and the food was delicious! That is the answer!

The hostess greeted us with "if you don't have a reservation, you can have a table for 45 minutes." No where did I see that reservations are required. Luckily 3 spots opened at the bar so we sat there because we were told "you can sit there with no time limit." The bartender serving us made no effort to look anything but annoyed with our presence. We had never been there and had questions but she would just point at the menu. I ordered a Diet Coke, which came in a can, one person with me ordered an old fashioned which was more glass than drink and the other people picked a beer from the list the bartender silently pointed at. This would have been a cool place if at least 1 person working here didn't look like they hated being there. Because of how we had been treated from the start we only ordered 2 appetizers, the dip and the flatbread. The dip was fine but the flatbread was like cat food on burnt toast. Oh and don't bother ordering a tea, I saw them serving bottles of gold peak tea, can't even brew tea. I do not recommend this spot unless you are okay with feeling like a burden and eating subpar food.

Stephanie was a rockstar, super funny and sweet and attentive. We got hella food: - Guacamole ($10) was limey and fresh and delicious - Elote Dip ($12) it was giving chilled esquites but if it were closer to a cowboy-caviar type salad. sooo good. - Chicken Wings ($22) the mesquite rub was a little salty if I'm honest, but the wings were super juicy. We got them grilled! - Caesar salad ($12) tasty, but a lot of dressing. Next time I'd get it on the side! Personal preference. - TACOS! The pastor pork belly was SO good, especially with the pineapple tidbits. The steak, shrimp, and chicken were excellent. My dad loved his cheeseburger taco the best and I thought the fish taco was pretty good (perhaps a touch dry but the slaw and sauce made up for it). Literally no complaints. Each one was better than the last. - Two rounds of sweet, tangy, Tajin-rimmed margaritas. Good god, these were delicious. The place itself is adorable. There's a whole outside yard with sports on, cornhole, and plenty of tables to hang out with friends, family, and I think even your dog (we saw a precious one!). I think they literally turned a house into a restaurant space, and they maintained some of the original elements for a really homey feel. They kept the fireplace, garage door, front porch--the whole place feels cozy and inviting. Lots of TVs for sports fans but it was pretty quiet inside (likely due to the holiday season) and the music was great, too. They were all decorated for Christmas, which I thought was an awesome touch. Big shouts to Ian and to Stephanie for a wonderful experience. I'm so glad this place is less than 10 minutes from my dad's place. I'll be coming back here every time I visit! I hope they stay open for a long, long time.
