This business is owned and run by the same owner for a very long time. She is known throughout the state of Washington, by car dealers and owners who've used her services. The owner herself is a "stickler for the rules" and must commit herself to every memorandum, and publication by the states offices. She'll make one do state patrol recertification when other vehicle licensing offices do not see that as necessary, or tell a customer that a small tear in the title mistakenly made by someone believing a tear was needed for the vehicle sale liability report. I can not myself fault this business for its practices but I've found that some of what I've been asked to do by this one was extremely time consuming and unnecessary after having gotten another opinion from other vehicle licensing offices. So I suggest that if you're going to use this office you have all of your eyes dotted and T's crossed she won't be the one to allow you to Skirt the Rules. Not that you should be allowed to but maybe you don't have to do everything that this office would ask you to do especially when getting appointments with the state patrol could take months if you'll get them at all and other such problems which she herself is never burdened with... read more

When my grandad had his driver's license taken away a number of years ago he decided to give me his car, a 2010 Toyota Corolla. We looked for an auto license place close to my parents' house to change the title/registration of the car from my grandad to me. The Edmonds Auto License was the closest place we could find and so we came here to make the change. Since the car was a gift from him to me I just had to pay a small fee $35. It was the first car I bought, and the only car I have bought so far. I paid all $35 and the processing and documentation did not take long. The line was relatively short, moved fast, and the process was simple and straightforward. The worker who helped us was warm and to the point. Enjoyed my experience here. read more

Super easy location to renew your tabs for your car or other auto licensing needs. Strange set-up, as it's a counter located inside a grocery store, but the service was friendly and fast and saying that for any DMV location is a miracle. I came in yesterday which was a Saturday and there were 6 couples ahead of me in line. I was out the door in 20 minutes. I renewed by tabs online and choose to pick them up vs. having them mailed to me since I don't like this kind of thing to be delayed/lost in the mail. Clerk was organized and verified my info super fast. When you walk into the IGA, look to your right and the counter is set up there. There's 2 chairs for waiting. Note they are closed 1-1:30 every day for lunch. It use to be that WA state licensing only accepted cash or check. This location also accepts debit and credit cards but will charge you an extra $2 fee. read more

Three minutes. That's all it took to get my lost personalized plates replaced and transferred onto my other car. I was expecting a very long process, irritating the growing line of people behind me on a 90-degree day with wildfire smoke and ash in the air (aka am I in hell?). The very nice and efficient lady at the desk handled my problems which were stressing me out because I thought I would have to fill out tons of paperwork (I did not - she did it all for me in 3 minutes). I've been going to the Lynnwood Fred Meyer for decades, but I think this is my new favorite DOL. It's a small office, tucked in the corner of ACE Hardware, manned by one person, but she is FAST! We needed a quick title to sell our Jeep. The woman takes the information, hands us a registration and says it'll be 6-8 weeks. Not today? No, you have to wait for processing. She doesn't tell us their establishment doesn't do quick titles! Instead, she takes the money and screws us over. Once the process has started, nothing can be done. read more

I walked in at 1:30 pm on Tuesday I waited in a long line with super slow service for about 10 minutes I was social distancing the lady came out put a sign behind the people in front of me said they were her last customer hours before they close. Ok yes I can agree that either of the women here sometimes (I had to go three times already) seem as though they have a "chip" on their shoulder for no reason....However - I am sure they get people angry at them & that can be taxing on one's attitude. Anyways...The location is totally convenient & the lines are nearly nonexistant. What more could you ask for?? Maybe I'm just jaded because in Chicago we had lines for..like..everything? I don't know but a line or 5 minute wait is nothing to me. Since I don't have a clue about the nuances of titles, registrations, and buying and selling my cars and trailers, I usually have several questions about how to go about the process and the ladies there are knowledgeable and helpful. I have always had friendly, professional service here, and the lines are usually shorter than anywhere else. Before finding this place, I had assumed all of the people who sell license tabs and do title transfers all day were cranky, negative people. Not true. They are helpful - when I needed to get an emissions test after forgetting to renew my tabs for three months (amazing that I never got pulled over) they suggested a trip pass to go get the test instead of a full three-day pass, which saved me money. read more

I have been here dozens of times over the past several years, and other agencies as well, and find the people here much more efficient and knowledgeable than at the other places. I have never had them be rude to me, but I don't expect it to be a trip to a Red Robin's. They have to act as a liaison between a revenue collecting government agency and the taxpayer, so I expect they get a lot of grief from both sides, all day. I think they do a great job, and make a necessary chore a lot more bearable. read more
