For many years I have chosen this location when it's time to renew my car tabs, or do the filing for the transfer of a car. It does get busy sometimes, but for the most part, I usually walk in, I'm greeted, and my documents are ready. In and out. Just like on the Washington DOL website, there's a fee to use a credit card these days. If you still have a checkbook, bring your checkbook to save 3% or pay head online with your banking information. Plenty of free parking. read more

I bought a truck from a friend with a rebuilt title. And over 200,000 miles. When transferring the title into my name the title clerk then proceeded to "lookup fair market value" and say the trucks worth well over the $2500 I paid. Cost me $670 ford tabs title and plate fees. They don't even deserve a star the lady at the window was trying to play the race card and was totally trying to get a gentleman to pay $4000 dollars for tax that he had already paid on his vehicle, complained about not getting her lunch and made the guy she was supposedly helping run to his car. They had a line starting to build up and only one other person was there to help she continued this very unprofessional behavior. I would never go there again! Long wait due to only allowing one person inside of the building at a time. If you like wasting your time and waiting out in the freezing cold come here otherwise go to Fred Meyers only about 2 miles away. After waiting 20 mins the Asian worker made a statement "if I knew it was an online order I would have brought it out to you". How about you stand outside and find out what people need instead of sitting inside and then making a statement like that? It took me literally 10 seconds to show my ID and pick up my tags. Came here to change my name on a car registration and title on a Tuesday around 330-4p. There were two people in front of me with one person at the counter. I waited no more than 5 minutes. This place is not very professional they treat you like they don't need you you need them place smells and the parking lot looks like it's not a very safe place to be. Not too crowded. The guy with the glasses today and I was told to get unnecessary paperwork to process title transfer. Very good, I went here, after I went to another "competitor" in South Snoco, who was not nice, unreasonable, who told me false information, about me needing to go through further unnecessary red tape, even after I explained they were wrong. Kunthara showed me rules and that the other "location" was wrong! & was just causing problems! So it was good information and service from Kunthara, Hard workers & friendly when busy too. The other negative post on here are grumpy nitpickers , Employee offered to help the guy out, come out of store deliver tabs to his car, & he writes a complaint? Idiot! or another because an employee told a joke to another? SO WHAT!! laugh a little! Great service here don't listen to the gripes.. they are just doing their job nobody likes going to gov mandated license paying fees but this business are just making a living.. and they are friendly relax! read more

a) FAST! I waited less than 5 minutes despite a line of at least 6 folks in front of me b) Professional! I watched the staff as they helped those in front of me and was impressed with their kindness and helpfulness as they dealt with customers that weren't particularly easy to work with. They were as helpful as they could be, but when it comes to government licensing it can be hard to be too helpful, often you really do have to just file another claim/visit another office c)Easy. I'll give them more than 1 star because they got me my plates without any technical mistakes. But the personalities that work here are TERRIBLE. The girl helping me answered her personal cell phone while she was working with me; I had the pleasure of hearing her mouth off to who I assume was her boyfriend about how she was off at 1 o'clock and oh yeah bring her some pizza when he comes by. The only time she actually spoke to me was when she asked for my ID as well as my money. I'm sure the job is as boring as they make it out to be, but unlike other state-run institutions I have a few other options on where to go for licensing. Horrible way to do business. Only one person attending the public while 4 others working on computers. Long line outside while the only employee was processing paperwork for a dealer with several transactions. When I question if they could have more employees to help, one person said that I don't understand how their business operate and I didn't have the right to ask questions. read more

My experience at Kunthara Auto License today was beyond disappointing. The lack of professionalism put on display by the two clerks was egregious. One clerk was unable to use her printer properly, all the while the clerk next to her is laughing and making jokes with his co-worked. There were two other people there who could of helped her, (on of which was the owner) neither of which did. The only other clerk, then took a call, making the line wait even longer, when one of the other two should have fielded the call. When I walked in, I was next in line, and it took thirty minutes before I was helped. On top of that, they want you to pay an extra $2 to use your debit card for tabs that are already pretty steep. If the service wasn't such garbage I probably wouldn't have minded paying the extra two bucks... Additionally the place is unclean and poorly maintained. After speaking with owner personally, he was to busy making excuses to listen. Clearly he cares as little about his customers as he does the business itself. If you value your time and money, I would NOT take your licensing needs here. read more

I use this place for all my licensing needs. The staff at front desk know their job and dealt with customers very nicely. My beef is that this place is so run down and looks cheap. It does not have to look like a 5 star place but I have seen way better licensing places. The owner has been around a couple of times but the staff is way more friendly than the owner. Seems to have a chip on his shoulder. Well convenience is the only reason I go there but then I start to think, its my needs for tabs etc which gives them the business but they especially the place and owner need to step up. I use Kunthara Licensing exclusively, have for many years. They have always delivered, both in person and by mail. I bought a used car for which I paid under blue book for a quick sale. It was an out-of-state licensed car, with an outstanding loan, which made it risky (my seller was leaving the next day, so I needed to make sure everything was correct). The gentleman at Kunthara checked my documents and pointed out several issues that could have left me without a title and several thousand dollars in the hole. It seems a bit ridiculous to love a licensing office, but if you have anything more complicated than renewing tabs or transferring a title, you need to go here. I imported a uncommon vehicle, and after four trips to two other offices and being told a different thing each time, I finally did a google search, asked other people who had imported uncommon cars, and went to Kunthara. The person here knew exactly what the requirements were. He sorted through my (considerable) stack of documents and papers that the other offices told me I needed, pulled out the 4-5 documents I actually needed, and I was on my way in 30 minutes. They really know their stuff here! read more

My husband and I moved to Washington from California. We went to Kunthara to register our cars. Previously, only my name was on both the titles to our cars. While at Kunthara we had my husbands name added to the titles. The man that assisted us placed my husband's name above mine on the titles and registration without asking how we wanted them placed. One, we are not in 1950 and the man should not necessarily have his name first. Second, since my name was previously the only name on the title, I feel he should have asked how we wanted them listed. I was highly disappointed by the mans chauvinist ways. If you go to Kunthara, I suggest you let me know how you want this matter handled because they do not have modern day respect for woman. read more

Been using this office for a while and service just seems to get worse. Granted, I got what I needed but the customer service here is in steep decline. The old lady behind the counter has the personality of a lump of moss. Was told that we customers need to "step up and be brave" if we want service. Imagine this, I'm trying to be courteous and wait my turn. Ok. So as you deal with a customer in front of you, you want us to step up and say "hey, I need my tabs please?" I imagine the reply would be to just wait my turn. And more poor service. Well, they lost a customer and will just have it sent in the mail from now on, from a different office. read more

I had to go to this location to get a WA State Trip Permit for a truck I was selling. To start, the location is pretty run down. I don't care about that kind of stuff though because at this particular location, you aren't waiting long like you would be at the DMV so who cares. On this particular day, two women were in front of me. They had two employees working, a woman and a male employee. The two women get up to take their turn in line and the woman tells the female employee that she doesn't want to go to the male employee because she doesn't want to deal with a person in training. The female employee explains, very professionally, that the other employee is not training and will be able to help her. The customer gets rude and says NO I want you to use this computer because I am in a rush! She needed her temporary handicap permit for her car. She clearly had a problem with this male because he was darker skinned and I heard her even tell her girlfriend she didn't want him to service her because he is black and probably slow. It is so frustrating to be around people like that. I am telling this story in the review because of how well the two employees handled the situation. The female employee was actually kind of rude to the women, but I don't blame her; however, she was professional and got the transaction done very quickly. The male waited on me and actually finished my transaction quickly and with no mistakes. I am super impressed with the customer service representatives when they have to deal with A-holes. Again, the location is not a pretty site, but you will be in and out of this establishment in no time. Good job to the two employees that day dealing with two racist women. Karma is already in place though because one is acting disabled and the other woman was ugly. read more

I have been using Kunthara Auto License for over 10 years and find them to be very efficient, knowledgable, and fast. I imagine that job can be very stressful at times when they are waiting on one person while looking at a line that goes back to the door and I commend them for there professionalism in getting everyone handled in a timely manner. My only suggestion would be for then to expand one or two new windows to the left and create a dealer window. read more

I came into Kunthara to obtain my new Washington license plates for my vehicle. The female that helped me was extremely nice and very helpful. She helped me prepare all the paperwork I needed to obtain my license plate. She was extremely knowledgeable and made the process painless beside the $457 the State of Washington charges which they have nothing to do with. I have been going to this establishment for MORE than 18 years. Yes, sometimes the lines are a little long, and sometimes people take what seems like forever to get their "issue" dealt with but the service has always been top notch! I've come to know the people that work there and they recognize me (AND my adult kids) when we go there. Whatever the issue, they always know exactly what we need to do to take care of it and have ALWAYS had the paperwork, forms to do it and tell me in explicit detail how to do it. They've gone out of their way to comply with some of my odd requests at times. They have an internet line where you can purchase your tabs on line and walk right up to the counter and get your stuff w/o any waiting whatsoever! When they see me coming, they usually have it in their hands BEFORE I get to the counter! It's not a "social" place, they're there to get the job done, in and out, but they're always friendly and pleasant. The only thing I would care to see is a few chair's for people to sit in while waiting in line but that's just me being picky! Thank you Kunthara for all your years of service. read more
