This was a really nice venue to see a concert. I think it was recently remodeled, so everything was kind of new and fresh and clean, always good in an arts center. Major points for: Plenty of stalls in the ladies room Comfortable, large seats Intimate setting A quick review of the upcoming 08-09 season shows a good variety of shows at decent prices. Minor deductions: Terrible wine at the concession stand. Yes, of course it is going to be overpriced, but there are cheap wines that are good. Work on that one, please. (also, small packages of Cheez-its really do not need to be on a multi-tiered silver tray. Might be overkill.) Trying to decide if the utter lack of hipness matters to me. I'm not sure it does. We live in NE Seattle, and I thought it would be a super long distance away, but it wasn't too bad and there is like zero traffic compared to driving downtown. Also, there was free parking. Free parking is awesome. It's near "downtown Edmonds" and the ferry terminal, so there were several restaurants and bars nearby, although we didn't try any.

What a gem of a spot. My first visit was recently to see Sweet Honey in the Rock. Great sound, great seating, and you can take a drink inside the theater! Parking was wonderfully easy (living in Seattle makes you appreciate easy parking). Friendly greeters, beautiful location and a great evening out with friends.

Visited this small theater to see a great violinist Damien Escobar. The facility was very nice and clean. I like the way they served food and beverages. They had ushers to help you find your seat. My one complaint is the bathroom locations. I sat in the 1st row of the balcony level. I would not recommend that location for children or people who aren't that secure about heights. I was very impressive with The sound and lighting. Edmonds is such a cute little town I would recommend making a day of your visit if your not from there.

The rows were kinda of squirmy but the children all seemed well engaged especially during the main show - loved it!!

Everyday they came home excited about the day's activities. Below are their thank you's to the staff last week. We look forward to another camp next summer. - Brett I found the School of Rock Camp to be extremely worthwhile. Most of the instructors there were very helpful and understanding. Our instructors regularly checked in on us when we were working on our songs. At the beginning of the week I honestly did not think that I could progress as far as I did at the end of the week with my three songs. I thought that the School of Rock's environment was very good as well. All in all, I had a wonderful time at the School of Rock's camp. ~Son (14 years old) Bassist The school of Rock camp was really great. I made at least one new friend and learned some new games. Plus I learned a new song and got better at ghost notes. Overall I think I would want to go back next summer and do it again. - Daughter (11 years old) Drummer

Even more impressive to me is his new budding understanding of music theory and his ability to apply what he learns at School of Rock to multiple instruments. Just the other week he wrote his first song on our keyboard that mainly collects dust.....and it really sounded great! I can only credit that to the skill set he's developing with School of Rock! I, on the other hand, have been blown out of the water with my bass teacher, Evan. He is hands down the best music teacher I've ever had. I was a bit nervous to begin taking lessons again as an adult....mainly because I know I had developed some "bad habits" in playing, lost a lot of the knowledge of music theory I had prior to taking a 10ish year hiatus from playing but I also don't have a ton of interest in relearning how to sight read (or even read sheet music at all since tabs are so readily available now compared to when I was a young whipper snapper ). Evan makes learning fun, he's clearly passionate about what he does and it comes across in every interaction I have with him as well as anytime I see him interacting with another student. I appreciate so much that he does not force me to learn to read music or memorize scales, but rather takes a very pragmatic approach with me going over shapes, teaching me compositions that aren't just fun to play but improve my skill set and ability to apply what we go over to multiple aspects of playing bass (and any instrument really). Last night for example, my son finished his lesson a little ahead of me and Evan warmly welcomed him into our lesson, included him in conversation and generally treated him with kindness and respect rather than an irritating little kid which was the impression I got from many of my early music teachers. I can not say enough good things about the team at School of Rock in lynnwood. Whether you're looking for your child, or looking for yourself it is an amazing experience and worth every Penny.

Even when you are right in front of it, you worry that you might be at the wrong door. There's plenty of parking and some stairs to the theater on both sides of the complex (I believe there is handicapped access in the back). We saved some money by getting our tickets on groupon via goldstar. Picking up tickets a few minutes before the show at the will call desk was pretty easy. Its also good to know there are beverages available should you desire something to drink. This theater is pretty small, making all seats good seats. We were able to see the stage easily, although like most older theaters seating is a bit cramped. It was also a bit warm in the theater. We saw The female of the species which was an enjoyable comedy about a subject matter that appeals to me. I appreciated the sign in the lobby alerting me that there were gun shots to be expected during the performance. It was also helpful of them to discuss how to become season ticket holders prior to the show, prices are very reasonable and even cheaper for seniors. We definitely thought this made for a nice evening out and plan to check out some of the other upcoming shows.

School Year 2024/2025…read more Our journey with education has been a bit of a rollercoaster, but thankfully, we've found our perfect fit at The Bloom Academy! My son had an amazing preschool experience at a Montessori school, and was initially hopeful that kindergarten would continue on that trajectory. Unfortunately, after trying a private christian school for kindergarten, I realized it wasn't the right fit and had to pull him out after just 6 weeks. He then went into public school for kindergarten, which was a very disappointing experience. This fall, I started him in another private christian school for first grade, but after just 4 weeks, it was clear it wasn't working out either. I was feeling very lost until a friend recommended Bloom, and it truly felt like God was answering my prayers. From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we'd found our school home. The smaller classroom sizes and strong sense of community at The Bloom Academy are exactly what my son needed. He thrives in a more intimate setting (hugs welcomed), where teachers can focus on his unique needs and guide his learning. The teaching style is exactly what we were looking for it's focused on fostering a love of learning, building character, and encouraging personal growth, not just pushing ahead academically. Unlike other private schools that seemed more concerned with being a year ahead academically, Bloom has helped me realize that the overall learning experience is what truly matters. What really stands out to me is the individualized education plan for each child. This is something I did not find in any other private school and has been such a relief for me as a parent. It's clear that the team at Bloom is dedicated to meeting my son where he is and supporting him in every way possible. My son and I are so grateful to have found Bloom Academy it's been a true blessing, and we couldn't be happier with the care, attention, and education my son is receiving. Thank you, Bloom Academy, for giving our family the school experience we've been longing for!

Our son attends both indoor and outdoor preschool here and the changes in him in the 5 months he's been at Bloom have been nothing short of profound. Miriam and Karen (who I believe are the owners and managers) are both such amazing and inspiring women who genuinely love children and want to see them flourish. Our daughter goes to a great private school in the area that has a reputable preschool program and we chose Bloom over them for several reasons. There hasn't been a day that goes by that we regret our decision, as a matter of fact I wish they taught older students so we could move our daughter here too! (Wishful thinking, I know.) We are particularly fond of 3 out of 4 of his teachers who have been so patient and positive in his life. His teachers are warm, loving, creative and encouraging. He's never enjoyed teachers the way he does here. The teachers have a joy here that I haven't seen in any other preschool/daycare setting. And lastly, the community of kids and parents that surround our son have been so wonderful and warm. People from all different walks of life with the common goals of the best environment for their little ones. Our family feels safe here, we also feel very loved. We are so thankful we chose Bloom!
