Visited Engels Pub in Edmonds for the first time this past Sunday night, and had a really good time enjoying karaoke and a couple drinks. Bartender handled the crowd with ease, and the KJ kept the party mood going as a LOT of people were there to sing. One issue that evening caused by the fryer being out of service, so there was no bar food available. All in all - Engels Pub delivered a good karaoke party experience, and I think we'll be going back soon. read more

I'm a huge sucker for "dive" bars. Love the live music, there needs to be so much more of that in the greater Seattle area! Bartenders are on top of it, TVs are plentiful and there is a pretty friendly crowd of regulars. They also have karaoke from time to time. read more

I love a dive bar and one with music is even better. I was there last Friday, however and was totally disgusted. The bar lets dogs in even when the place is packed and has loud music. This night the dog in question, in addition to jumping on anyone who got near he also pooped on the floor. It was so gross, many people had to leave due to the smell and not one person that worked there did anything. At least that is how it appeared. This place serves and prepares food. I love this venue so much its cozy but the perfect size ! It reminds me so much of a bar in South Miami that I grew up in. I love when they have live music which is not every day. We have been bar hopping Edmonds for a while and we love finding places like these small pub, Dive type bars. We brought in a party of 8 for a birthday because we remembered in a past experience that they do Shotskis! That is specifically what we came to do! We arrived shortly before the live band started setting up and there was not much sitting room in the main area to fit us all so they allowed us to use the back room to post up. They also gave out free Jello Shots for our Birthday group. It was a fun experience doing the Shotski! We've always seen them get all crazy in the movies, but I think because our group was pretty much same height we had no problems. It went smoothly :) We appreciate them accommodating us and giving us our first Shotski experience. read more

"You're a green one, Mr. Grinch! You taste like an AMF!" That was my impression of this seasonal cocktail, as I said in the covered sidewalk dining area in Edmonds' main street. My wife and I came up from Portland to check out the Christmas market and central shopping district before taking the ferry over to Kingston and Poulsbo. We stopped for a couple drinks to shake off the cobwebs of our three hour drive, before venturing out to convene our Christmas shopping. Engels seems like a fun local pub, the kind of place we would frequent as locals. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and enjoyed the company of our canine companions, even amidst the sometimes cramped, canopied dining area. My Grinch was strong enough to take the edge off my fatigue without getting me hammered, and my wife's Pomegranate Smash did the same without leaving her smashed, as well. Maybe next time we'll be able to enjoy the interior ambiance, but these days, just being able to be served and enjoy a cocktail in public, even in the street, is a luxury for which we are thankful! read more

I came into the establishment. It wasn't terribly busy but busy enough for me to respect that she wasn't going to attend to me in a timely fashion. I asked for water. And I was kicked out. She basically didn't have time for me. This is an older lady. Every time I've been there in the past I've been treated very well. But I asked for water and was told that I could not be served water? After hosting an event nearby in Edmonds, my boyfriend and I were leaving lunch to head home... That is, until we saw the door open at Engel's on a sunny Sunday afternoon and decided one more beer wouldn't hurt, right? What really drew us in was the dive atmosphere and the dart boards we saw in the back. We walked in, ordered a beer, and headed straight back to the boards (nobody else was back there, bonus!) Whoever was playing the music was also on point, as it was a great collection of throwbacks. We ended up staying for TWO beers, and had a great time. The service was great as well, and for a nicer day, I'm surprised it wasn't packed! I'm not up in the Edmonds area a ton, but when I return, Engel's will definitely be one of my stops! read more

My bestie and I both love dive bars so of course we had to stop into Engels for lunch and beers. Happy Hour is offered Sunday-Thursday from 11am-6pm and on Friday's from 11am-7pm. Indoors one will find a pool table, arcade games, pull tabs, board games and a full bar. A variety of different activities are offered throughout the week. The menu is simple but tasty. My bestie and I each slurped on a Manny's and Black Raven IPA for $5.50 (hh) each. My bestie ordered the Classic Grilled Cheese for $7 and chose the chili as her side. A tasty comfort meal. I ordered the Classic BLT for $7 and chose coleslaw as my side. My sandwich was piled high with crispy bacon, crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes. Delicious. Our server was friendly, thoughtful and easy going. Overall, if I lived in Edmond's, Engels would be included in my rotation. read more

over the years, whenever we spend an afternoon in edmonds, we stop at Engel's to wrap up the day. you might call it a dive bar, but it's really a neighborhood bar. Engel's changed ownership about 3 years ago. 2020 was supposed to be the year Engel's was supposed to enter into the black for the new owner, but covid came in town and we all know what that means. along with the pre-covid remodeling, the menu has been updated. it's still definitely a bar menu, but the deep-fried menu has been relegated to "fryer favorites" on the new menu. service is friendly. the owner is present-serving and cooking. the bartender and servers are quick and efficient. everyone stops to chat for a few moments and welcoming. before the new in-dining restrictions in november, bar seating and tables have been re-arranged and i felt very comfortable stopping in for a quick drink and a bite of food. we were asked if we were from the same household and reminded to mask up when leaving the table. the new menu is an appealing mix of tavern food and fast-casual salads and sandwiches. can't miss items: homemade chili and chicken wings. do not pass on these. other dishes we've enjoyed: tots, mini corn dogs, potato skins, and chili cheese dog. i can't stress how welcoming everyone is. some of the old-time regulars from the previous ownership(s) are still here but the customer base is slowly being updated just the Engel's. there's a good mix of original customers, middle-aged customers and a younger crowd. the majority are locals, just like us. all are treated will courtesy and respect. i can't wait till we can dine-in again to try their other sandwiches and salads. you should go there too. you will have a great time there. read more

In a pub that usually feels homey and relaxed something entirely DIFERENT happened way beyond my expectations. I recently visited Engels and I was surprised to not be greeted upon entering this fine establishment. I departed after using the facilities and went down to the waterfront to enjoy an evening drink. I returned a few hours later hoping to wish the bartender Happy Thanksgiving. Only to be thrown out and having a no trespass for an entire year set against me. Came here around 5pm on a Sunday. They ran out of mozzarella sticks and the ingredients to make their holiday special drink. I ordered a chardonnay, which wasn't too dry and my partner ordered a run and coke - she said it was light on the rum. We ordered fries and chicken wings with bbq sauce and I was disappointed that the wings weren't smothered in sauce when we received them. They also didn't really taste good...almost like they were just cooked. Unfortunately not a fan. I can say the fries were tasty though! Customer service was also just ok. read more

I had no expectations; however, the most unassuming guy walked up to the microphone and I was regaled with the most metal/screamo cover of "Pardon Me" by Incubus and I've been thinking about this ever since. One of my favorite dive bar around Edmond. Been here a few times with my friends. It was a blast, this is like the place to be if you are around Edmond area. There are live music on the weekend and daily special. People are friendly there and welcoming everyone who comes here. The service there are good, and their drinks are cheap and heavy on the liquor. That is what I like, they do have a food menu there. Maybe if I come on a weekday after work, grab a drink and burger for dinner. Overall, great place to be on the weekend to start your night or end your night with as well. read more

At first it looks rough but then you notice everyone drinking here is in their late 40's and wearing leather chaps... I know what your thinking, but its not that kind of bar. They are wearing leather chaps with jeans. Its a biker bar for old fat white bikers! And when I say bikers, I mean the kind that buy their bikes at a Honda dealer after a busy day working over the balance sheets. The people watching is worth an extra star alone. Drinks are OK, but they don't have a large selection of liquor so don't expect any drinks that don't involved more then add mix, add booze. They do have a nice selection of beers with a pool table in back. Here's the thing... The men's room. It's on the right just past the tables (if your looking...), and it doesn't have a door. Not only does it not have a door, but the urinal is right inside to the right. If you just happen to walk down the hall and wonder what is in the room with no door you may get to see whats under those chaps. read more

Kinda funny- never thought about reviewing a place like this until I read all the reviews. It's a bar. You can play pool/skee ball, darts and drink at 11am. You can also spend a Sunday afternoon playing trivia and doing karaoke. The service is always good. The drinks are fine and cheap. After living in Edmonds for 18 years just kinda thought this was the go to good place for a good time. It's NOT fine dining and it's not a place to go for "cocktails". It's a bar... and it's great! It appears that white nationalists are rampant here. My wife and I were having a pleasant conversation when an older white man from the other side of the bar started demanding that we tell him what country we are from. Needless to say, as the only people of color in the bar, we were appalled and disgusted by this insulting line of questioning (American citizens by the way, but it should be none of your business). To make matters worse, all of the other patrons and work staff didn't bat an eye and continued on as if nothing happened. Maybe it's the norm here? I have grown angrier over the days resulting from this encounter, and have decided to never return. I would advise all of my brothers and sisters from the Asian American, Native American, black, and Latino communities not to spend their hard-earned money at this establishment that appears to be a major stain on the proud Edmonds community as a whole. Deep-rooted hate and bias have no place in a civil society. read more

I'm new to this review thing, and new to the area. I was trying out a bar in Lake Stevens where I had such fantastic service from our bartender, Kelsey. She mentioned that she works two bars, and we should come check out Edmonds, the waterfront, and see her here on a Saturday night for live music. WOW! The music was great, the service and drinks were quick, delicious, and affordable. The crowd was very friendly and inviting. I think Kelsey mentioned she was pretty new to working here, but she is CLEARLY not new to customer service. She let us sample a few beers, was very friendly, and had a lot of knowledge and recommendations. Between her and the other pretty blonde bartender, we were SO impressed. My autistic friend was pressured by patrons to give up his table by others coming into the bar. He wanted space and distance and they wanted his table, they had multiple people from their group confront him to leave his table, so they could party together. So rude and insensitive.
