What a wonderful theatre! I love that this is a small local spot that's perfect for a daytime or date night outing. The concessions by donation are perfect and the ushers make you feel like home. Growing up, my grandmother lived in Edmonds and really enjoyed the Edmonds Driftwood Players Theater, so we would come with her to various plays. It was a more formal occasion so we got to wear our nice clothes. We would arrive fairly early to avoid the crowd that could form as the play start time neared. The plays we saw here were varied in content, though tended to be musicals. I typically got headaches when I saw plays growing up, and the acoustics hear were better than average. It depended on the play and type of music sung whether I got a headache. During intermission we would make a dash for the restrooms, which could have a long line, however us and other theater goers tended to be quick to keep the line moving. We would also go on the hunt for a small cookie or two that might have been put out. read more

We have been twice and LOVE it. It's reasonable and they choose plays that are perfect for communty theater. The refreshments are good and reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful. We certainly have some talented actors and musicians in our community. read more

So I've been going to the theaters from Everett to Seattle for many years. I've gone to ACT theater, Everett Village Theater and obviously Edmonds Driftwood Players Theater. I think this theater is my favorite because it's very easy to get in and out of, the theater is very intimate, the prices are very reasonable and not every show but most of the plays are just a lot of fun. So for me out of the 3 I mentioned I love Driftwood players theater. If you have never been to a live show I highly recommend you go. It's a fantastic experience and really a lot of fun and like I said it's reasonably priced. And depending on the show time you have lots of options for dinner in downtown Edmonds. Please trust me on this one it's something all ages can enjoy please do yourself a favor and try a night out in the theater. read more

Lovely community theater just east of Edmonds downtown area. I saw my first play here last weekend and loved it. There is plenty of parking in the private lot as well as adjacent street parking. All snacks and refreshments in the lobby are donation-based cost so I was able to have bottled water during the show. This was necessary as it's a little bit dry and dusty in the theater. I have allergies and was a little uncomfortable during the show as my eyes were dry and a little irritated. Fortunately I had eye drops with me so it wasn't terrible. The washrooms here are small with only three stalls (for the women), but intermission offers ample time for everyone to get in and out as needed. The acting onstage here was very good - I look forward to future performances here! read more

This theatre, in Edmunds, is small but cute. There was plenty of free parking, on the street, and I had no trouble finding a spot. The foyer is efficiently set-up with small pockets of seating and a little refreshment stand. Their theatre space is clean with a select number of seats so you shouldn't have issues finding a seat with a nice view of the stage. I visited, for the first time, yesterday to see 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder' and enjoyed it, soo much. The actors were amazingly talented and gave a wonderfully enjoyable performance. I think it's, likely, easy to underestimate community theatre; but to do so would be a huge mistake as this might've been the best musical performance I've, ever, had the pleasure of seeing, in the area! read more

I wish I could give negative stars here. My teenage daughter was cast in a production of Les Mis this summer. She was extremely excited for the opportunity. Unfortunately, the whole experience went sideways. This is a close knit group and they circle the wagons quickly to protect their own. They treat the experience like a day-camp for the underage members of the cast. One of the adult staff overseeing the underage cast was a long time former child member herself. She was obviously immature and she kept talking about her sex life in front of my 14 year old daughter. My daughter finally pointed this out to her which caused her, probably in an attempt to protect herself, to go and accuse our daughter of saying something inappropriate to her. The director called my wife and told us our daughter was being put on probation. We started our own investigation into what had happened but before we were able to sort it out, they trumped up a reason to remove her from the production and kicked her out.. As we continued our investigation, we found that there were others who had witnessed the interaction and confirmed what our daughter had said. We confronted the people above the director and were given an apology and offered a part for our daughter in another production. We were unable to make the schedule for the other production work as we had structured all of our schedules for the summer around the Les Mis production. We declined and said that the only thing we were looking for was that the person who had talked about her sex life in front of underage kids be removed. We were promised that we would be contacted by the board about this. That contact never came and the person we were dealing with wouldn't respond to subsequent emails. We have debated reporting this to the Edmonds police but are hesitant to ruin this foolish girl's life even though she didn't give our child any similar consideration. We may still do that but in the meantime, we want to warn anyone who might involve their underage children with this group about our experience. read more

Home-spun thespians! I'd give my right arm, I'm left handed, for some decent parking to see these fine folks. The parking isn't that bad just if you the show is really popular you'll have to search for street parking, which really isn't that bad. A great while back we took Veggie girl, our oldest, to see a play here. The theme was Snoopy and his Peanut's pals. I mean come on how can you screw that up! Well, I'm sure someone has in the past, any-who.... The caliber of acting and presentation was just great, the entire family enjoyed the play and music. While the stage scenes were right along the lines of a local thespian group, it satisfied. I enjoyed this theater in the round, okay so it was a half circle, the stage and seating arrangements allowed you to feel as if you were right up there. Really not a bad seat in the house! What makes this such a treat is that it's has a locally home grown feeling, from the selection of accompanying staff to the fund raising events. Well worth the look see and Edmonds really isn't that far out of the Seattle area! I mean for cripes sake, there aren't any igloos up here.... read more

Saw our first play here, last night- The Adams Family. We thoroughly enjoyed the play, admired the talent of the skilled actors, and enjoyed the stage props. Refreshments in the lobby were great, and appreciated. AND, the opportunity to make it a dinner show, (reservations were made for us at Girardi's Restaurant Completed a great event! I gave this a 4 star rating because-there were several references to the current political events of today. I get it, this puts the play in the situation of fitting it into our current day, and that those finely placed references are meant to elicit reaction from the audience. However, we get this every day through social, TV, and written media. Why do we have to pay to get it in a relaxed, entertaining opportunity? We travel to and from Vashon to see the productions in Edmonds and have never been disappointed. The farce, Noises Off, was no exception. True to their standards, the set, the costumes, the casting were without fault. The second act was absolutely amazing, the synchronization of ax and bottle transferring hands among the nine actors was something to behold, and caused side splitting laughter. My family and I saw our first production here last night and it was wonderful. We saw the first TIPs (Theater of Intriguing Possibilities) show of the season called "I'll Be Back Before Midnight." It kept us gasping, laughing and guessing, all on the edge of our seats. The cast were spot on and the staff were wonderful. We can't wait to come back to try a Main Stage show and definitely won't miss the rest of the TIPs season. read more

Fans of The Driftwood Players community theater since the late 1990s, my husband and I thought their latest play, Tom Stoppard's "Arcadia" (directed by Corey McDaniel) was wonderfully well done -- they did a fantastic job of recreating the original 1993 London Lyttelton version to a smaller stage. Tom Dewey and Jager Weatherby were absolutely marvelous as Septimus Hodge and Thomasina Coverly. And a salute to Erica Bergman (Hannah Jarvis), Jeremy Thompson (Valentine Coverly), Janet Cole Hamilton (Lady Croom), Patrick Lennon (Richard Noakes), Matt Lovell (Ezra Chater), Joshua Michels (Agustus Coverly/Gus Coverley), Justin Tinsley (Bernard Nightingale), Gaelen Poage (Jellaby), Rosalynn Le (Chloe Coverly), and Andy Wallington (Captain Bryce) -- well done! read more
