Signup: Most companies post sign-up sheets the morning of the sale. For Edna sales, it can be posted... any time during that week. So it's hard to really know when it's available for sign-up. But it's also nice not having to be there early in the morning to sign up, and then come back an hour later for sale start. 3 Stars. Pricing: Their product pricing seems to be higher than other local companies, maybe because they run a discount day on the last day, and they need to inflate the initial price. But on the 1st day, prices are typically not that competitive. 2 Stars. Organization: This is where they seem to do a decent job. The staff does a decent job of organizing the items, and keeping people flowing without overcrowding. Generally a professional experience. 4 Stars. Overall: Would like to see pricing made a bit more competitive. Notably media (books, cds, dvds) are all more expensive than other local estate sale companies. Did you count the items and know exactly how many items were sold? A one day SUNDAY sale???? Does your description of the cashier matter? Clearly, your answers to these questions are YES since you wrote them, but let me assure you the answers are NO. By the way, the sale was correctly posted the previous weekend!! With this degree of displeasure, why didn't you do a private house sale in the first place so things can be perfect for you. Perhaps it is too much work and effort for you? Be thankful you had someone who agreed to take your sale. MANY Western New Yorker's who frequent Edna Louise sales respect the work done to make sales ready and run smoothly, providing a great overall experience. An estate sale is not a rummage sale, so prices do represent value. Why not remove and try to sell those "valuables" elsewhere? We have always ended up netting FAR more by enlisting their services than anything we might have made conducting our own sale. sale started 10-7-21 (9 am) We were 3 rd on the sign-up sheet so I felt good about being able to purchase what had caught my interest from the photos that were posted in regards to this sale. When I was amoung the first five at the sale, a lot of things were tagged sold! The items I arrived ready to buy were no longer on the tables....as a matter of fact 6 or 7 items that were photoed on the table were no longer a part of the sale. Some of the items were marked sold to a person who was not even on the listin front of me. Ethical business practices ,,,, maybe they should look up the meaning!!!! So when would these items have been purchased? Obviously not on the date that was posted! Some people get to view and buy items before the rest of the public! This sucks if you ask me! I had an Estate Sale done by Edna Louise and her staff before the sale of my house. I was amazed how fast they prepared and displayed all the items for sale. Pictures on the website were wonderful. In addition, they put a sign up sheet on the front door prior to the sale. Great to see how many people signed up. I felt very confident the sale would a success and was in good hands. First of all, the entire staff is so knowledgeable and savvy when it comes to pricing items. They completely staged the house and made beautiful displays. The staff is so kind and compassionate. it was very emotional for us to have our Mothers possessions sold and cleared out but we needed to do it! Went to a recent "estate sale" every item was overpriced! $15.00 for an empty Jack Daniels bottle, really? Their client would have been better off selling everything on eBay. $175.00 for a plastic model kit that was missing half the kit. Don't waste your time. Edna Louise paves the way for Estate Sales done right in Western New York. It seems like they recently came into light after holding a sale at the Williamsville Castle, but Edna Louise has been around for years! Their services have been offered for as long as I've been alive - seriously, the business began in '94. On a weekly basis they post where their next estate sales will be held, and they can range anywhere from Tonawanda to East Amherst, Buffalo, Orchard Park...just a few weeks ago they had a sale in Silver Creek! They keep customers updated on their Facebook page with photos of some of the great buys available at upcoming sales, which is awesome. I've gone to numerous Edna Louise sales, some of which I ended up at because of their Facebook postings. Their sales are seriously awesome, and they always seem to have some pretty cool houses to liquidate. It's usually the same setup for each home; they'll have a table with a cashier near the door where you can bring your purchases, and you'll be able to freely roam the house in search of whatever your little heart may desire. They tape off areas they aren't allowing buyers to go through (usually bathrooms/rooms without anything for sale in them). If you buy something large that needs to be picked up later, they will mark those items as 'sold' for you, and reserve them. I've gone to sales on their first day, for snagging some vinyl records I'd spotted on their Facebook page that I seriously needed for my collection, and they'll usually have a list on the door for you to write your name on to reserve your place in line. Typically on the final day of a sale, they'll have a discount, like 25%-50% off a purchase. read more

I went to one of their sales in Elma this morning, the first day of the sale. It was a very large home with many fine antiques. I was just about to offer the asking price on a loveseat @$495 when a dealer walked in front of me asking Charmaine how much? I overheard her whisper to the dealer-$300. Really! The sale had only started an hour earlier and Charmaine's offering items at steep discounts to dealers she knows? I contacted Edna Louise Liquidators about several Collector Cars that they're featuring, was contacted by Eric Wobschall from Edna Louise, about the cars. When I asked some legitimate questions about the Cars they are selling he responded back saying that he couldn't help me as I was being combative and sarcastic and he can't be bothered? Obviously these people can't be Trusted and are trying to hide something about these Automobiles? They want a buyer to spend Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars to buy these Cars without knowing anything about them? One example is the have a 1967 Corvette without matching engine number and they want $150,000 plus several other cars including a shell of a 1955 Chevy Belair which they want $100,000. Many of the cars are projects that need a lot of work and money? From what I saw you can buy better Cars from Barrett Jackson or MeCum Auto Auctions who both offer Authentication. Stay away from these people as they're Crooks, someone not willing to answer your questions is trying to hide something it has been my experience. If you plan on doing business with these people be very CAREFULL. If I could give them a Negative Rating other than NOT GOOD it would be a Zero! read more

They were so unprofessional and unorganized. They made excuses that it was everyone else's fault. They got into a screaming match with the Buyer and their Agent that was buying my Customers house. Then the texts I received from Eric stating that the Buyers should just "find a new house" since they wanted it cleaned out, oh but he was only kidding and the sale was only marginal anyway. So that means you can be unprofessional. Then he had the audacity to say the Agents were greedy and just focus on record setting fees. I Referred you business and this is how you thank me! While Charmaine was professional in Nature, the service was not. No appraisal offered or given as it says on her web page. It was listed as a 1-day sale for Sunday (she started the sale thurs) with unfair market value prices (way over) on items then slashed in 1/2 on the Sunday promoted, still leaving over 65% of contents that she cannot account for the contents 35% sold. no itemized lists, no accountability. I had to toss the rest as people in this industry do not entertained picked over sales. The person collecting cash was a large man left outside on his own. He or anyone could have ran off with money unaccounted for. ZERO accountability for appraisal, accounting, or sale terms. The house, though "Charmaine worked hard to clean" was still left in disarray. My uncle was a collector appraiser and auctioneer and had many valuables mixed with maybe smaller valued objects. I did not leave a review for Edna Louise/Charmaine after using them in 2017 for a family estate sale, however it was not a good experience. I thought perhaps it was a one-off at the time because their reviews were generally not bad. There was a complete communication breakdown between Charmaine and her staff. After going over exactly which items were to be made available for sale with her, when her crew arrived for staging, they had no idea what they were doing and were fairly rude about it. Items that were not to be touched were mishandled and damaged. I would not have hired this company based on the recent Yelp reviews, so it's clear that things have not improved. After years of going to markets and estate sales, I still make the mistake of visiting an Edna Louise sale once a year to be reminded how outrageous the pricing is. I commonly see hand and power tools that are 10-20 years marked to the MSRP of the brand new updated models you can buy today. Any vintage electronics are often in poor or untestable conditions but they are asking 10% more than a shop would be that personally serviced and rebuilt these items. Don't go to these sales if you're looking for deals or items to refurbish, you will be paying top dollar and they get nasty when you try to work with them. If you sell used goods and don't barter, you're not to be trusted in my book. read more

I used this business for my mother's estate. Beware! The guy who comes to your home to review the items for sale is pushy and obnoxious. He doesn't take the time to discuss what the family wants - he's only interested in talking over you, hurrying the conversation and being totally disrespectful. In my case, it was a good thing that I traveled back to my mother's home after the sale. The exterior gates to the property were left open and several doors to the house were left unlocked. Items that had been displayed outdoors were not secured after the sale - an oriental rug was left outside in the grass - it was soaking wet from the rain overnight. Inside, unsold clothing was rolled up in balls and thrown on the floors of the closets. Finally, when I inquired about payment, Charmaine got snippy, told me that I would have to wait until she reviewed the sale receipts and figured out her cut of the proceeds. When I finally received the check, there was no itemized list of what was sold. In other words, I have no idea if the total proceeds could be verified or not.
