Cheesy ramen Sukiyaki Gyoza on the left and a sushi roll between the soups! Everything was good.

Cheesy ramen? Yes, please! The mochi was balanced--not overly sweet--and the garlic calamari was super garlicky, though not what I anticipated. I expected the usual deep-fried and breaded version, but this was a pleasant surprise. To be fair, I didn't really read the menu and just picked random dishes, but nothing disappointed. We washed it all down with a Sapporo beer. My friend and I left happy, and I'm sure you will too! We also had a sushi roll that had deep fried shrimp and that was awesome. I wish I recalled the name!

Excellent food for decades coming out if this establishment. We have a picture on the wall here somewhere from about 20 + years ago eating at hibachi. Just ordered again after being away for years, veggie tempura, shrimp tempura, chicken yakisoba, veggie yakisoba, sushi deluxe, Dallas roll, spicy tuna roll, Grand Canyon roll, miso soup. All outstanding!

this is mine and my husbands FAVORITE sushi place. we went to hawaii expecting the sushi there to be better since we are right next to an ocean.. NOPE edo is by far the best place! Every roll has so much flavor and is so yummy. highly recommend to anyone looking for great sushi! & it's usually one guy back there just killing it!

Have to wait, might as well make it worth my time!

I have to admit, it was surprisingly good/fresh tasting! It's Joliet, not the coast, and yet our sushi rolls were fresh and clean with bright flavors. Yelp Users score another Victory for our family and trying out new places.

This is a review for delivery that was placed via GrubHub. My girlfriend and I debated a long time whether to go to the restaurant or order in while staying at a hotel. Ultimately we decided to slip into pajamas and order in. We bought Chicken and Steak Hibachi, Beef Yaki Soba, Chicken Yakitori, Garlic Broccoli and Cheese Cake Tempura. Steamed rice and miso soup was also included. My chicken and steak hibachi was very well done. It came with mixed vegetables and could easily fill anyone up. The beef yaki soba was also quite flavorful and was a big portion. We both loved the garlic broccoli; it was just a container of broccoli and a container of a garlic sauce that you can either dip in or pour over. We never tried cheese cake tempura but it was a fun desert. It really is just cheesecake with a crispy crust. The portions are so big that you will no doubt have leftovers. They have many different choices as well. My only small complaint is that it's a little pricey. The cost was a little more than what I would expect to pay for only two people. But if you're interested in great Japanese food while you're in the area I fully recommend this place.

Garlic calamari 6/10 Dallas roll 8/10 Sake 8/10 Maguro 4/10 $41.40+tip Very friendly service but place is outdated and in a bad location I'm from Chicago and I'd say this gotta be the best sushi around here I will be back next time I drive by Highway 55

Overpriced and overrated. Came in with the hubby because we hadn't found a good Sushi place around the area yet. The place was lonely and dark. No air conditioning. People linger over you as you order/wait. I saw a 25$ lobster roll (6 pcs). The only thing that was good was the Sushi rice. The Sushi would of tasted better if it was chilled and fresh. They take advantage that they're the only ones in the area. Decor was a bit off putting. A big dry fountain in the middle of the restaurant. Asian dolls, swords, and posters. Somehow they managed to make it all seem like Japanese horror night. Overall i don't think it's worth the price to come regularly. If it's your last resort then maybe. Would come here again if someone else paid, otherwise it's not worth the effort.

This time, we were greeted and seated immediately with menus which was nice. 3 large groups and 2 smaller groups were already being attended to. Noticed there were a total of 3 staff members including the 1 server. After 40 minutes, our server hadn't returned to check on us and a small group that entered after us must have run out of patience understandably and left with a friendly "have a nice day!" from the 1 server. Several takeout orders were being picked up during this waiting period while we took in the art and music covers playing. We received a jar of citrus water after 50 minutes and our server took our entire order, which we discussed thoroughly with the hope that it wouldn't take as long to receive - 2 drinks, back up drink in case they didn't have what we ordered originally, 1 appetizer and 2 rolls. We were informed that they were out of Kirin Ichiban beer, no big deal but we ended up not receiving our green tea (bummer because I love their toasted rice green tea). Mixed tempura was okay, the Angel Fest specialty roll we received was outstanding in flavor and ingredient balance. Unfortunately, after 2 hours of waiting we still hadn't received our 2nd specialty roll (Crunchy 2 in 1) and had to call it a night around 8:35pm. Server did apologize and offered a complimentary dessert that we turned down. Receipt had all of the items that we'd ordered but also those that we didn't receive (beers, teapot and 2nd roll); this was adjusted without issue after my husband confronted staff. The Osaka Sunrise (idk name might be wrong) pineapple/mango mixed drink we shared by default was exceptional and pretty strong not to mention photo worthy. Tip: great place for a group of friends to share basic rolls and drinks during happy hour; date night is 50/50 which may be due to understaffing. We ended up at a local Walgreens for snacks afterwards and laughed that they actually had cold Kirin Ichiban six packs for $8.99 - who would've guessed!
