Ed's is advertised as a reasonably priced barber shop, but new owner changed the price from $14 to an astounding $40! Major rip off!

Been going for over a year, Ed is amazing and I disagree with the "if you're not Armenian, they won't give you good service", I am Asian, everyone is friendly even other customers talk to me and are very polite. Highly recommend, I usually call ahead of time in advance but I get an amazing haircut and the best service. Always have great chats with Ed. Elvis is also good, support local and highly recommend, I always get the cleanest fade and Ed doesn't rush, he takes his time. Great vibe and service. read more

this place sucks. there were two barbers standing around, one person in a chair and we walked in and asked if they take "walk ins" and they just looked at us and said "no" there were also two young guys just standing outside smoking and blocking the entrance when we walked up. definitely agree with the other reviewer who said if you're not armenian you will not get good service (or service at all!) go to another barbershop, like sevak on broadway/glendale!! read more

My go-to barbershop for about eight years and counting. The barbers are friendly and nice; however they speak limited English, but they are good at what they do and are fast and cheap. What's cool about this place is that when they're finished cutting your hair, they vacuum you to get rid of the excess hair. They have great service, my favorite place to get a haircut. They also offer coffee and sometimes you might find sweets on the coffee table. No parking, only street parking. read more

Surprised at how bad this place was after seeing all the good reviews. Needed a cut before the weekend, and this place was close to my work so came by. Typical neighborhood barber shop. I sit down in the chair and ask the guy for 4 on the side and 5 on the top. He says, "are you sure?" And I say yes, because that's what I always get. He says, "that's going to be really short," and I reply, "yeah I know that's okay I like it short and just let it grow." He shakes his head and then starts. He then keeps trying to convince me to keep it longer at which point I'm just like alright do whatever. He then proceeds to go super hard with the clippers, and cuts my scalp! I start bleeding and he's all, "oh I'm sorry, I think I hit a mole." Dude...stop. At that point I'm like just finish so I can leave. Now I'm stuck with a bad haircut and a painful head :-( Oh well....six weeks and I'll try again....elsewhere. This place seems to cater to local people in the neighborhood. There were 5-6 other customers in the shop and they were all acting chummy. This barber was not friendly, nor did he do a good job. read more

Waste of money and time. I had to go here on a Sunday for a quick trim before I go to an event early morning. I didn't expect much since it had few reviews but wow this was one of the worst. I walked in, greeted an old barber whom I thought was the one that was gonna cut my hair, but he just looked at me as if I'm ordering pizza from him. He then pointed at the guy sitting on last row sit, so I assumed he meant that he was the one cutting my hair. The guy that cut my hair looked like he is on parole with his get up and his arm tats. He also seemed to hate his job, I gave him clear instructions and even provided reference pics but somehow he just couldn't figure it out. I ended up with a botched haircut and a bleeding scalp. Oh and when I said bye to the old guy, he just stared at me with a blank face once again. This was just an odd and uncomfortable experience. This place is trash. And good reviews here are probably their friends and relatives that they give free haircuts to. read more

Just left and all I have to say is wow! I wish I found this place a long time ago. I happened to have yelped a barbershop near where I was and found awesome place. Elvis took great care of me! I have a really simple cut but he made sure that not one hair was out of place before I left. The place is clean and updated. Everyone is friendly there. It's easy to see that they take great pride in their business. Their clippers and tools are meticulously taken care of, clean and well organized. I can't say anything better. I will definitely be back! I highly recommend it. The only tricky part was parking but I'm glad I stuck it out and found a spot on the adjacent street. read more

This is the worst barbershop ive ever been to and my recommendation is DONT GO HERE if youre not armenian or other nationality that speak their language, they will talk shit to you if you tell them what hairstyle u want. So heres the story my brother and i went there for haircut, so this old man gave my brother a haircut, my brother showed him of picture so the barber will know what is the hairstyle, then afterwards this old barber acted like hes done but my brother hair is not even fucking close the picture he showed to him. I told him that was not that my brother wants and i showed him again the picture, then shittyness of this barber comes out, he talks to other guys on their fucking language looking at me, cursing at me most likely, then he brush my brothers hair like scrubbing a dirty sink, WILL NOT go back here, fuck this place. read more

Here's a strange story for you... My hair was two feet long and I had a beard that was well on the way there too, and just decided enough was enough, time to clean up. So I gave Ed's a shot, a huge task, to bring me back into the league of being dapper. Well sometime during the shave, after the haircut, (here's where it gets weird) I passed out. And then I heard my name, it was Ed shaking me, and when I came to, paramedics were already in the barber shop trying to make sure I was okay. Next thing I knew, I was in the ambulance headed to Glendale Adventist. My wife (who was next door to Ed's getting a pedicure) followed close behind. Ed went over and got her to let her know what happened to me. In all the commotion, I left my iPhone and Ray Bans on Ed's counter in front of the chair. I figured I'd just go back later after I'm cleared by the docs and get my stuff. No need, and here's where you know you're in great hands... My brother and wife were in my room at the hospital and they said "you have a visitor". We were surprised, no one else knew I was there yet. And in came Ed, not only to bring my shades and phone back, but also just to check in and see how I was doing. I never even met this guy one time in life but he cared enough to do that for us, and if there was some sort of special Yelp rank, I'd give it to him, that's truly above and beyond. Ed, if you're reading this, I'll be back soon, and I promise not to pass out. They're not sure what even caused it, perhaps low blood sugar, so I'll make sure to eat a sandwich before I come in there next time. You're a champion! Oh! I'm very thankful this place is following COVID guidelines. Father & Son run the place. Gloved up. Masked on. And continuously sanitizing. I take my boys here for a cut every two weeks. I tried the boujee places near the area. What for? Anything above $30 for kids haircuts is bizarre. I love supporting this shop because it's family owned. I learned they've been in that same location for over 18 years serving our Glendale community. I really enjoy the quality of their work and the dedication they put dealing with my kids. Why is it so hard to find a good barber? It's like trying to find a good mechanic. I've been searching for years, and end up going to some decent places, but always felt a little unsatisfied no matter what! I've been here a few times, and now I'm a regular. The owner is Armenian (ED) who has a confident steady hand with scissors, clippers and the blade. If you are looking for a spot to trim/line up your beard this is the place to be. It's hard to maintain a beard, so it's very convenient to walk in for a quick fix. I love the fact that he uses a vacuum to suck up all the stray hairs and a wash if you like. Their equipment are always sterilized and sharp. The place just got remodeled. A couple flat screens on the wall and complementary tea and coffee while you wait. read more

The barber I had (seemed to be the oldest gentleman) did not give me a short enough haircut on the sides even after a second attempt. The fade on the top was crooked. This was my first visit, so I didn't know the guy to trust a third attempt. The brush he used to sweep hair off of my head and shoulders smelled really bad - not exactly the smell I'd want to carry out into the evening. He seemed uncaring in his demeanor; didn't make any effort to engage or to hear fully what I wanted despite my meek, humble persona (since it was my first visit). Stopped by today on my lunch break to get a fresh cut since I was kind of on a rush. It literally took him 25 min to cut the sides and trim the top, which was very quick, but his overall work was pretty good. I'm a very picky person when it comes to my hair, I like things done perfectly the way I explain them. He almost got it down right. All he's gotta work on is the fade. I have gone here twice to get a haircut. One negative off the bat is parking is limited and I believe it is street. Other than that, it was a great experience. I have tried many different barbers but the younger guy that works here (I forgot his name and whenever I come in there is usually an old guy and young guy) knows what he is doing. I have left twice feeling that he was thorough. What is nifty about this place is after your haircut, there is a suction to get all those leftovers and it leaves you feeling clean. read more
