My first lunch was, Chopped Cheese Sandwich and Brussels Sprouts Salad with an Old Fashioned Cocktail. OMG - The Chopped Cheese was an Off Menu Special and it totally rocked my tastebuds. If I have heard the gossip correctly, it became so popular that it is now on the regular menu. Also, the Brussels Sprouts Salad had me wondering, why I didn't like this vegetable when I was a child. It is now one of my favorite veggies. My second lunch, a Reuben Sandwich with Black Bean Soup and my adult beverage was a Sazerac Royale. In my humble opinion, this was the absolute best Reuben I have ever had and the Black Bean Soup was equally as good. I swear, I am going to figure that Black Bean Soup out and make it at home. I loved how they served my Sazerac Royale straight with a glass of ice on the side. Next time I've got to try the pastry case. I've drooled over the offerings, but have never tried any of them. Wow! We must have been living under a rock for the last year and a half....this place is outstanding!! Stopped in for the first time today to grab some lunch, and the food was so so good! I had the chicken salad and my husband had the Reuben and tomato soup. We had great table service and all the employees we interacted with were very nice. Such a great addition to the downtown area! A friend and I went in for lunch on a Thursday and were sat right away. They have sit down service and takeaway. The prices are more than your typical sandwich shop, but the quality justifies the price. When I heard that this new deli was opening in town AND that one of the partner's is Ed Heath, founder and formerly of Cleveland - Heath, I knew something good was coming. I was right. It sits in the location which was formerly occupied by 222 Artisan Bakery. Some of it looks similar - at least in lay out. - but it is newer and brighter. You can get your food to go or they have tables in what was the former Artisan side room where you can get table service. They also have a liquor license - thus the bar. I ordered the Chicken sandwich which was $16 and came with a good sized sandwich and a bag of chips. The quality was excellent and it had a breaded, boneless thigh which had been cut into large chunks with cheddar cheese, bacon and ranch dressing. My companion had the "Brussel's"salad, $9, which was an incredible creation! Shredded Brussel's sprouts, cashews, and other vegetables tossed very lightly in a type of salty lemon dressing and covered in Parmesan. I would order this again in a heart beat! Both items were plenty for each of us at lunch time. The same quality which was instituted at Cleveland -Heath is now available in a slightly more casual fare delicatessen. read more
