I love Mcalisters! The food is always hot and feels super homemade not like fast food. I love during the fall because they have the witches tea which is so good and the lasagna soup! I do find there to always be a wait but nothing too crazy. The parking lot and drive thru is huge so you don't feel like you can't get a spot. read more

We came in this place with one person in line. It took 10 minutes to be waited on. We made our order and were seated. The cook came out and told us that they didn't have what we ordered. When he asked what we wanted, we gave him a replacement order and he said that he couldn't do that, but that he could bring us macaroni and cheese. I like this McAlister's. Food: Obviously, the menu is nearly the same as you would fine at any other, but they execute well. Whether Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich, Savannah Chopped Salad, or Black Angus Roast Beef Giant Spud (I'll echo the GIANT part), I like it all. Gluten-free options for Therese H. is a great thing, too. Staff: I've ordered from the app, and the order is always ready, correct, and on time. I've been there maybe a half-dozen times, and always get a friendly greeting as I open the door. Once, a staff member opened the door for me. Sure, you can give staff training about this sort of thing. But to execute consistently is impressive. Site: I like the seating area, and think they've made good use of their location in a relatively new business development, with a nicely shaded outdoor seating area protected from the elements. Been wanting to try this place for some time now and I left with pretty disappointed feelings. The food was over-priced and mediocre for almost forty dollars. I didn't feel like I was getting my money's worth from this establishment. I've had better Mac and cheese elsewhere. The sandwich I had was good, but my partner didn't like their food and only ate half of it. Said it was bland and disgusting. The only positive was the mixed berry lemonade was delicious and I love that they only have one size for drink options, so that was very generous. I am constantly on the lookout for a good Reuben sandwich. I had tried a McAllister's in St. Louis and was less than impressed. The McAllister's in Glen Carbon is a quite different experience. The service is good. The food was good too. I prefer the corned beef sliced a little thinner but that's just me. Check out the photo and you can judge for yourself. Just had lunch here and why hasn't anyone told me about the fire-roasted veggie soup?! Wow...it is awesome! It has a very rich depth of flavor and lots of veggies! I'm already craving it again! I love finding something that's good for you and delicious! If you know me, you know I like my food screaming hot and this soup delivered. Great lunch all around. My turkey avocado was excellent as well and of course the tea hits the spot! At first I wasn't that impressed with McAlister's Deli. Now I realize I wasn't ordering the right stuff! McAllisters is always a treat. Food is hot, plentiful and flavorful. The Edwardsville location opened a couple of years ago. It's off the main drag so we sometimes forget to go there. Families enjoy McAllisters because of the games on hand. A family next to us had three teenage boys who were intent on beating the other at a brutal game of Connect Four. Hubby got club sandwich and bowl of chicken and dumplings soup. I typically order a spud (baked potato); on this visit I got the choose two with half spud and roasted veggie soup. Their whole spuds must be infected with vitamins - they're huge. I guess that's why they're called Giant spuds. McAllisters serves great food and their prices are great. You can't go wrong with any of their salads or sandwiches. Their sweet tea is justifiably famous for its addictive qualities. Today we had a southwest chicken salad and a "Rachel" (a Reuben with turkey instead of corned beef - giving your conscience the illusion that it's a healthy alternative). They were both very good. I go sometimes before work Wednesday - Saturday (more often than I would like to admit) and it's like a well-oiled machine. Expect a 10 - 20 minute wait or longer, but hey, if you're paying for quality (fast) food, allot time in your schedule. McAlister's didn't create the cosmic law that good things take time to do well. The food is great. I always get the Savanah salad. The Fairview Heights location near my work let's me order 2 small salads of the same kind on pick 2. The Edwardsville location near my home will not let me order 2 of the same salads. They say I can order 2 different kinds on pick 2 and that's ok. But 2 of the same is "taking advantage of the system." I'll be calling corporate too, that makes no sense. read more

The Edwardsville Illinois McAllister's is always busy, but despite this, the workers stand around talking by the take out window instead of taking orders. There were 4 people standing there until 1 finally came to a cash register to start taking orders. Then another finally taking orders. This happened multiple times during our visit. There would be folks waiting to order for a few minutes before anyone turned around to help them. This was our 3rd visit where we witnessed it. Soup is always luke warm and never hot at any McAllister's I've visited. I gave 3 stars because despite soup not hot, the taste of the food is always great. read more
