Oh how I hate having to leave less than favorable reviews but it must be done sometimes. The food was so bland. The salsa tasted canned. I asked if they had spicy salsa and was brought back a bowl of something that was not hot and was mostly all onions and cilantro. The person who took our order was nice. We love Ed's place! Everything there is good, but those beef tacos are the Bomb! And that hot sauce is perfect! Had great service too.

The food was really good but the service was absolutely terrible. When I was asked how everything was, I mentioned the terrible service then all of a sudden I got attention. Mind you this was when I paid the bill! The staff did not check on us regarding refills of our soft drinks or anything else for that matter. I had only been there once before (which was YEARS ago). This time being our second visit I couldn't remember why we hadn't gone back. The salsa and chips were great! I was eagerly looking forward to our meal. Our meals were great. My drink was halfway gone, then completely gone. Uh oh! Thats when I remembered we had terrible service way back when. If you want "to go" it's probably better. However if you want a sit down restaurant, don't bother. The wait staff were happy to sit down with their friends to visit, it seemed. From my point of view, the wait staff will give plenty of attention to their friends but if they don't know you, they'll ignore you. I got the distinct feeling that I wasn't welcome. Came to eat here only because all of the other places in town were closed on holiday. It turned out to be a huge mistake, should've just stayed home. The place has barely an people inside and somehow I still waited about 15 minutes for anybody to take our drink order. Waited about another hour for my food. The wait time here is absolutely ridiculous. The cherry on top must have been the fact that there was barely any meat in my tacos, felt like I was eating a taco shell with lettuce in it. I'm only giving this 4 stars because the salsa was not very good. Their regular salsa tastes similar to spaghetti sauce with zero heat/spice. The avocado salsa that is supposed to be spicy also was not and it was fizzy flavored, which made it hard to eat. If I could give it 5 stars based on the staff alone, I would! Alex, in particular, was awesome! Very personable and nice to talk to. Everyone there was super nice. Also, our meals were great! Not like "blow your mind" good but also not gross or sketchy. I made my own avocado/guacamole tostada and it was delicious! The enchilada sauce had meat in it, which was unusual but gave it a really nice flavor. My husband and I met his family in Globe today and had lunch at Ed's La Casita East. There were nine of us. For nine people to be satisfied and enjoy their meal, I would say well done. This is the second time my husband and I have been to La Casita in Globe. Every time we would go through Globe we would think about stopping but never did. There are always cars in front of the restaurant. When we first stopped by we kind of questioned our choice because there was almost no one there yet there were cars parked in front. From our observation they get many takeout orders and they also have a drive-through. That also says a lot about a restaurant. It taught me again not to be too quick to judge a restaurant by eyesight. Good food. Good service. Will be back. With some of the reviews I don't know who's taste buds have been fried mine or yours. I'm not from Globe; however, I've been told this is the local favorite. I was with a very large party and they accommodated us nicely. With that said, the drinks took absolutely forever to get. They ran out of Modelo which is what half the party was ordering. On top of that, we ordered the drinks a number of times and never received them so we were worried we would be billed for them since they were ordered, but never received. The food was mundane at BEST. I have to say I've never had tasteless enchiladas until today. The taco was not good and the chili relleno was inedible. Working in favor for the establishment was the individual salsa tray you get and the waitress was very prompt on refilling the chips. All-in-all, I wish I had stuck to the chips and dip and would skip all of Globe/Miami in general. Best of luck. read more

I grew up in the Southwest, and I was raised on Mexican food. This is some of the worst I've had anywhere. From the indescribable salse to stale, gristly beef cubes in the enchiladas to the cold, flabby, greasy tacos (cheese somehow or other and apparently intentionally stuck to the outside of the tortilla, every bite was abysmal. I would have liked to have tried the food to give it an honest review, but we didn't even get the chance to try it.... We were passing through Globe one Sunday afternoon, and were hungry for Mexican food, so we Yelped a few joints, and saw Ed's. Hours of operation on Sunday were listed as open until 4pm, and it was 3:20pm. So we pulled in, walked up, and found the door locked, with guests still sitting at tables. Rattled the door, but no one let us in. I'm sure the staff was turning customers away so they could shut down and go home as soon as possible, but why advertise you are open, if you aren't willing to serve customers? In my professional experience of retail and service, you close the doors at closing time, and then go home after all customers who are on the premise are served. Ed probably needs to revisit the basics of doing business, but I'll never know if he gets it right.... ain't stopping there again. read more

Food was pretty bland. They did a pretty good job with service though. I had a machaca chimi (enchilada style) and it really was pretty dang bland. Salsa was just ok. Everything was just borderline ok. It was not so gross I could not eat it, but I really do not think I will ever go back. read more

I had a take-out dinner on Oct. 9 and was very pleased. I ordered a dinner with a chili relleno, enchilada and rice, all of which was delicious. The relleno was tangy and just a tad hot but filled with cheese. The enchilada also had lots of cheese. The Spanish rice was a tad dry, but very good. Service was fast and friendly. read more

Service was fast and professional. The restaurant has a team approach and 3 different employees checked on us throughout. They were all young, very enthusiast, and extremely friendly. Seems like the locals like to use the drive thru instead of eating in the restaurant. There weren't that many people inside but cars kept coming by. The food was pretty good. Chips were hot and salad was on the mild side. My husband had the Machaca burrito. The beef was flavorful and not too dry. I had the red Menudo. It wasn't greasy at all, unlike most other menudos I had before. There were more hominy than tripe which was prefect. The only downer was the flour tortilla - it's from a package and much too doughy. read more

Huge disappointment. Stopped by here after many years away and sat for an hour without food or updates, about 45 minutes after ordering. The kitchen was too busy with take-out and drive-through orders to serve sitting customers. With two small kids, waiting that long is agonizing. Service was lacking, had to ask twice for water while we waited for food that never came. Can't comment on the food because we had to hit the road before it came. Years ago we had the best chili verde we have ever tasted. On Feb. 26, 2019 we were passing through Globe and wanted to see if we could repeat that experience. As we entered the restaurant the staff treated us wonderfully. Another couple who were with us, who are from Arizona, said that the chicken and sour cream enchiladas were the best they had tasted anywhere. I had a bowl of chili verde and was not disappointed. There were even two varieties of chips made from corn and from flower. Both were outstanding as was the salsa. Ed's wife Debra, greeted us personally and was very gracious. Used to go here on a regular basis, but decided to stop. Food was okay, but the thing that really bothered me is all the pictures of dead animals by the counter. These people like to hunt, no doubt, and they are proud of it. And they want everyone to know it by the pictures by the front counter. I don't want to see it, ever. Hunting and eating what you kill is one thing, but hunting for the sport just to kill something is another. There are animals (like big cats, a mountain lion perhaps) that are good and dead. I ride with a group of 10-20 people every few months and we always stop here. They are always very accommodating and friendly and the food is fantastic! I just made a call over there to let them know we'd have about 20 people showing up when they open tomorrow and was told the restaurant is closed for a couple weeks while the owners take vacation and they do some work to it. Eddie I think his name was? was kind enough to let me know the downtown location would be open and he'd be happy to set it up for us. I got a call back right away from the downtown location letting us know they'd be happy to have us and would be ready. Love this establishment and will continue to visit on our rides! The server was very kind, quick and efficient. The restaurant was clean. Those two things go SUCH a long way in my book. I had 2 enchiladas (one beef, one chicken) and a water. No sides or anything. The flavors were ok but I would have enjoyed more meat in the enchiladas- there was only about 10 small pieces of beef dropped on top of the enchilada, and the bill was over $7 for just those 2; a bit too high for what I received. read more

Globe is known for its Mexican food. La Casita East is awful. The service was very polite and friendly. The food on the other had was rude and offensive, bean and cheese burro you ask "how do you screw that up"? Well let me tell you! BURNT BEANS! Beef Taco, we'll surely they will get that right NOPE! Turns out it's a lettuce taco soaked in grease and broken in half on the bottom. I won't eat here again on a bet. Sorry I know this is a locally owned businesses but it's one to avoid. Stopped by around 3pm on a weekday and found a clean restaurant with very pleasant personnel. I only gave 3 stars as there were folding chairs to sit at the tables and the salsa was just so-so. I've never left a bad review. But yesterday I took my family to have dinner and my daughter got locked in the bathroom. I am disgusted at the response from the waiter and waitress that were working. They didn't look for a key, they just continued working as if I hadn't said anything. My daughter is young. And to be locked in the bathroom she was terrified. I thought there would be some urgency to help get the door unlocked and there wasn't at all. Finally after 10 minutes someone from the back came to help and got the door open. My children and I left and will never return due to lack of respect from the employees. I am highly disappointed in this business. read more

I miss coming to this place on my way through the Salt River Canyon! The food is tasty, plentiful, and ridiculously cheap for the enormous portions. Me and my traveling partner could always spend less than ten bucks here (including a 20% tip) and get enough food and leftovers in doggie bags to last us for our entire seven-hour-trip up to Window Rock AZ. Awesome Mexican restaurant near the new holiday inn express in town. Food is good. They don't customize as much as I would like them to. What I mean by this is when I ask for spicy I want spicy. Also I don't understand why all Mexican restaurants in globe serve salsa in a tube bottle. I mean common class up to valley standards and serve it in a bowl (I know you do give a bowl) but don't place that plastic salsa bottle that looks like syrup on the table (looks unclean and never washed). Not your fault as you probably learned your methods from other mex restaurants in globe. But s little change will go a long ways. Other then that great food. read more
