A tech/locksmith was at my place within 20 minutes of first calling the business. The locksmith was very nice, especially considering what time it was. He 'tested' out the lock in order to give me an estimate. Based on whatever he did, he said there was a service call fee of $25 and the lockout would be $180. After a few minutes he said he was going to have to drill out the lock because I had told him to turn it the wrong way. Very untrue, but I wasn't going to sit there and argue about it. But then it turns out his drill was broken, so he had to get another one. When he came back, it took a few minutes for him to drill the lock out. I paid with credit card and he was on his way. He even said I should check with my insurance to see if they could cover the damage on the doorknob. I just really hope I never have to use a locksmith service again :)

He did a great job with the locks, allowing us to keep the existing doorknobs which were in good shape. When he was done, we asked him to tighten loose handles on some sliding glass doors. They're on the third floor and no longer locked ( not a big issue on the 3rd floor) but he tightened the screws and returned them to locking condition for us at no extra charge. We had to rent an RV because we couldn't stay in the house and with kids, a dog and a completely flipped schedule I locked the dog inside the RV from skatter brain. Called a company prior to American Lock and Key and they had no clue how to open it. My husband was told of scam companies by Anthony and in true fashion of life right now lol we sat outside for an almost 2hrs watching a man hoping he didn't wreck the RV which we don't own. Initial contact: They were extremely responsive when I reached out and I loved being able to schedule online (and there was a solid amount of availability. At the appointment: When it came time for the appointment, the technician (who was on time and fully communicative) went above and beyond in the best way. Not only did the technician answer my 100 questions and concerns about smart locks, but he also advised me my options with different locks throughout the property to balance safety and cost. I thought they would only replace the locks but they also were able to replace the doornobs, offering several appealing options in the style I wanted. They had a variety of options for locks too - regular door locks, deadbolts, and smart lock varieties. They even cleaned off the door all around the doornob because it was dirty and looked a little gross! My biggest joy has to be that they were able to use the same locks on multiple doors so we could use one key for all the doors, which is a lifesaver because I was startingbri appear as a janitor with so many keys, lol. After it was all done, they made me a bunch of copies of the key, which was helpful and honestly unexpected because I thought I'd have to go to Lowes after to do that myself given the million and one copies we needed for various family members. I reached out, and they sent a second technician (Christi) who took the time to resolve the issue. While it was a bit disappointing that the job wasn't completed the first time correctly, I am very pleased with the final result. The entry key is part of the FOB and an important part of a working FOB. He told me that I now need to go to a dealer to have the keys cut which means extra time and money.
