My son recognized him as a dentist who made a visit to his school to talk about teeth and it's very easy to see why he's so popular with the little ones. But I've never had such a difficult time to schedule/reschedule an appointment before. I always feel like I have to take time off work or pull my son out of school or wait another month or more. Their hours are terrible. The 7am Fridays would be great if we lived closer but we'd have to leave even earlier to get through traffic and then there's no guarantee we'd be finished in an hour to get to school on time. 2pm closure on Fridays is crazy. And they close at 3pm on Tuesdays and 5pm on the other days. They are always booked solid so good luck if your child gets sick.

They always make the kids feel comfortable and even excited to go back and get toy surprises. The office is clean and totally geared toward kids, with toys in the lobby and even a horse saddle for the x-ray chair! There's lots of colorful fun artwork on the walls, TVs on the ceiling make our kids smile! while getting their teeth cleaned!! They also have fun contests a few times each year, like send in a postcard with prizes for nearest, furthest, most colorful, etc. They don't take accept insurance, but we keep going even though they're out off network for us. This review is way overdue because I began taking my kids as toddlers and now the oldest is 13. Dr. Bala is patient and kind. He remembers his patients and will greet them as he passes by, even though he is on his way to another patient. My kids have completely different experiences because my daughter has had cavities and my son has had none. My daughter needed a filling at around 8 or 9 years old. She was already uncomfortable with the normal teeth cleanings and X-rays so I knew she would not like having to get a shot and teeth worked on. Dr. Bala tried comforting her by explaining what he was going to do and had no problem stopping if he thought she was uncomfortable. The office itself is very clean, welcoming and bright. There are televisions above the exam chairs to help distract the kids while they get work done. Dr. Bala has many assistants that help get the patients in and out in a timely manner. And although my kids are still hesitant going to the dentist, it is not out of fear. They just don't like the taste of the vitamins they put on their teeth. Absolutely THE WORSTTTT experience I've ever had at a dental office…read more I scheduled an appointment specifically to have my chipped tooth repaired. When I checked in, they asked if I wanted to do my overdue 6-month cleaning while I was there. Since I was already in the office, I agreed, assuming they knew how to manage their own schedule. Big mistake. Not a single person informed me that getting the cleaning would either leave them without enough time to fix my tooth or cause my gums to become too inflamed to complete the repair. Instead, they went ahead with the cleaning anyway. After Gary finished my cleaning, I reminded him that the entire reason I came in was for my chipped tooth. His response? "We don't have time today because we have a team meeting." He then sent me to the front desk. When I asked the receptionist why they offered me a cleaning if they already knew they couldn't complete the appointment I actually came in for, she gave me a completely different excuse: "We all have to take our lunches." So which is it--a team meeting or lunch? The stories kept changing. She then told me I could come back at 2:00 p.m. the same day, and I agreed because I needed my tooth fixed as soon as possible. Then, only about 10 minutes after I left the office, the same receptionist called me saying my gums were now too inflamed from the cleaning to repair my chipped tooth. She even said, "I'm sure the dentist told you that in the room," which is completely false. He never said that. The only explanation I was given in the office was that they didn't have enough time. To make things even worse, after telling me I couldn't be seen that afternoon, she tried to reschedule me SEVEN DAYS LATER for the repair. During the call, she even admitted the situation was confusing and apologized because nothing they were telling me was making sense. Every time I asked a question, she had to put me on hold to go ask someone else because she didn't seem to know what the actual explanation was. It was obvious no one in the office was on the same page. So I came in with an emergency chipped tooth and left with a cleaning I never asked for, no repair, conflicting explanations from multiple staff members, and a recommendation to wait another week because of a cleaning THEY suggested. The communication in this office is unbelievably poor, the scheduling is disorganized, and the staff couldn't even give me a consistent answer about what happened. My time was completely wasted, and my dental issue was left unresolved. I expected professionalism and honesty, but instead I left frustrated, confused, and still needing the treatment I originally scheduled.
