The Dentist is good Michelle Chen, but the staff is horrible. They are rude and unhelpful. Prior to my appointment, I called to ask if they could tell me how much I had left on my deductible I was told I could get the information from my insurance company. When I was at the office, I asked if I could have a copy of my estimate, (it was sitting on the desk) and I was told no. One of the women was looking at the PDF of my bill on the computer, I asked if she could send it to me, I was told no. In addition, when you to talk to them they don't look up at you. They continue to look at their computer and talk to you. Now, I'm not old (67), but I think that people are supposed to look at you when you speak with them. Am I wrong?. Also, when they said that my portion was $660.00, I politely said that my estimate said it was $355.00. I asked why it was different. They didn't have an answer. I explained that I could go back home and get my copy, but they told me that the Dr. wouldn't be able to see me, and I would be charged a cancellation fee. However, the doctor explained to me why it was different, but it didn't make sense. Something seems "off" there. This is the 2nd time the doctor has explained billing to me. I have never seen a doctor explain billing. I realize that it's a small practice and maybe they have multiple duties, but there is no need for rudeness. read more

I've been going to winning smiles for probably 8 years. They keep changing dentists. I went for a cleaning last month and the new dentist cleaned my teeth but didn't even polish my teeth. Made me feel like I was some kind of trash because I'm on Medicaid. So maybe that's why she didn't polish them. I think I'm not going to go back. read more

I really regret going here. The dentist was so rude. Very condescending. I have severe anxiety with the dentist and I let them know. The dental assistant was so rude. She cross contaminated EVERYTHING. Used the same gloves she was on the computer with for me! And then when it was time for her to polish my teeth she was so rough. She rushed and was just so rude. No social skills at all. Making me more nervous because now I have to walk on egg shells. It was the worst experience at a dental office I've ever had. And now I have a huge cyst on my gums. I switched immediately to another office today. Dentist refused to do routine cleaning without my taking antibiotics(!!!) first and/or for him to speak to my surgeon at Kaiser. Unheard of. I had a femur and hip replacement 3 years ago and have been to the dentist 5 times since then without issue and without anyone making this outrageous demand. Even Delta Dental agreed, they have never heard of this. Taking antibiotics without infection present (and there is none) is very unhealthy by the way. Also, this dentist immediately pushed for "deep cleaning" even though I have no issues, pain or otherwise. There is evidence of need for this, it's just a money maker for the dentist. five years ago I went to Winning Smile and had a wisdom tooth that had gone bad and got it extracted the same day...at the time it was a very good dentist name Dr Lopez, Thursday I go back to the dentist to get one of the other wisdom tooth extracted because it was having massive pain. The new dentist told me that he is going to refer me to an oral surgeon and then I can have it took it out tomorrow! they did not call the oral surgeon and help me at all....and when I asked for antibiotics because I had an infection he denied me. I asked for pain pills he denied me. I ended up that night in the ER.My due diligence on the phone, seven days later I got it extracted....as for the office staff, they were fighting like a bunch of badgers very rude and disrespectful. He did 5 composite fillings all but one have fallen off in a matter of 24 hours after till 3 months later. They weren't t even smooth - rough and could feel with my tongue always. Terrible place. I've tried to book an appointment with this facility multiple times. Because of my job insurance and just terrible terrible terrible. They constantly reschedule and cancel appointments. (It's not even an hour or like 20 min in advance to let you know) today at 9am 06.13.23 I had an appointment I was already parked. As I was about step out of my vehicle I get call and at 8:55am from Emily I believe is her name and to no surprise "we're calling because our doctor called in" this has happened about 8 times. I understand health or emergencies. They have a life too. Unfortunately there's a pattern. There is no consistency. There's no organization. First photo to show the timestamp they called. The second photo I had confirmed already but they rescheduled for that day when it was for a different date. Third photo they had cancelled last min then tried to rescheduled after we had set a different date. I had also already given them my information they ask for everything before you are taken in. This was the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had in a dental office. The day before I was called to confirm the appointment and told my insurance was cancelled and did I still want the appointment I had scheduled two months previously. Next day I receive a text about the appointment and that my insurance was not cancelled. I arrived to the appointment 10 to 15 minutes early to fill out any paperwork. My paperwork was complete in about 5 minutes. There was a man there filling out paperwork and his entire packet had to be redone because he didn't sign or initial or complete any of the pages, but he was called first. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes. I was asked to initial that I understood that I was there only for an exam. When the receptionist was not visibly busy I asked about this because I was there for exam and cleaning and waited 2 months. She said they would have to ask the doctor. It's a very open space which I'm not used to and I could hear everything the doctor and his other patient were saying. There's no privacy whatsoever. Someone came over and said she was going to do xrays and I told her I didn't want to move forward with X-rays if I was not going to have my teeth cleaned. She said she would have to speak to the doctor. The doctor never said a word to me simply walked by. I waited 45 minutes to find out I could not get my teeth cleaned. As I was exiting this dental office it looked like a dead rodent with some other garbage and cigarette butts were in front of the building which is across from what appear to be low income housing project. I felt a sense of relief that I was not seen, did not get an exam, x rays, or a cleaning. I would not recommend this place to absolutely anyone. read more

Updated review: 9.15.28 I will be going somewhere else, terrible experience on 9.14.19. I came before in March and it was ok but I came for a cleaning yesterday and it was terrible. Dr.Lopez no longer works here and he was amazing. Unfortunately, the front informed me that he was transferred somewhere else. I continued with my appointment and my cleaning was horrible. I've been coming here for two years or so... The staff and dental assistants are amazing; always making sure you're comfortable. The actual dentist on the other hand is a hit or miss. I'd give this place 3 stars BUT my previous filling experience was horrible! She was working on me and two other patients at the same time. Also she was answering questions from the staff and reading over paperwork!? I was so frustrated. She also didn't listen when I reminded her I'd need to be numbed more than usually. Personally due to the lousy job she did this time, my fillings took two weeks to feel "normal" i.e. no sensitivity and a proper bite. I went in yesterday to get the rest done and thankfully I was the only patient she was working on. It took half the time, one hour instead of two, and my mouth feels great today! I'm probably going to switch. The dentist is very scripted; "you're doing great" "thank you very much for you patience" No sense of emotion at all. Not my liking. Others sure, but not mine. Everything has been super easy, from scheduling appointments, easy client check in, amazing follow ups after appointments to check if she was fine after a service. Because my mom has had such a great experience I've taken my 5 year old son and for his first doctors visit he was treat very well and enjoyed the visit. I'm surprised this business is still in operation. If you need antibiotics because of an infection I thought that the dentist would help but not here. They will send you away and tell you to go somewhere else. This place is horrible I would not come here if you're in need of ANY dental work. Very unprofessional. I've had the worst experiences with this dental group. I have some kind of autonomic dyskinesia whereby I don't produce saliva. All my dental work and teeth are needing to be pulled. When pulling some teeth, they left some of the tooth and now I have to go to an oral surgeon to get them removed. I paid a lot of money for temporary dentures, which never and still don't fit correctly. I was concerned about my last two teeth, Which held up my bridge. I asked do Ko whether to get those last teeth polled, but he said he was going to just cement The bridge back in place. I specifically asked for an x-ray to see how the bridge was seated. Dr. Lo completely denied my request for an x-ray. Sure enough, two days after I got the lower partial denture, it pulled my bridge off! At that point I asked again about pulling the last two teeth, but he just went ahead and re-cemented it and it didn't feel right. Another dentist there did take x-rays and saw how bad the bridge was seated and how poor those two remaining teeth were. I was to get those two remaining teeth pulled and get another lower denture. Dr. K said that Winning Smile would probably have to eat the cost of The first partial denture. When I went back in, they refused to see me. Just upon leaving Dr K unequivocally told me that he refused to compensate me with a full lower temporary denture after those last two teeth were pulled. This was a bold face lie. Hello everyone, today I had my dental appointment for cleaning and I was treated very rudely by the Dr. of this Dental clinic, last November 2020 I had my routine cleaning finding 2 cavities, I went to Salvador in January 2021 and decided to do the job myself of 2 fillings there due to the cheaper price, today June 29 that I have my routine cleaning, the dentist at this clinic tells me that I should have the 2 fillings that last year he told me I had and that I had already done in El Salvador, I told him to explain that to me, he said that today he will clean my teeth and that I could no longer return to his clinic for any dental work, he told me that he will continue to go to El Salvador to do my dental work, I I asked him to please continue to treat me, that if it was necessary for me to do the fillings on my teeth again, his answer was no, and that I should not return to his clinic because he would not do any more work on my teeth , I felt humiliated, sad and disappointed I am very impressed and affected by the mistreatment that this dentist did to me, I do not recommend this place, for nothing to anyone. read more

My family and I had a great experience here. Dr. Lopez was wonderful. The staff was polite and prompt. I was able to get my family of 5 booked at the same time. The cleaning was fast. They did such a great job! My children felt comfortable. The office was clean. There was plenty of parking out back. Im glad we have finally found a family dentist. Took my toddler to this location today afternoon for his first dental checkup.  All I can say is incompetent receptionists.  Waited more than 40 minutes, and left since they could not figure out whether my insurance worked for their office despite the fact that that it was all checked out before I came in.  Winning?  I dare say not!!!  If the receptionists are inferior in their ability to carry out simple tasks, I really do not have high confidence in their dentists' ability to perform their job. read more

I had an appointment very quickly and I practically had no waiting the day of my appointment. Dr Tavana is very nice, soft, understanding and knowledgable. The hygienist did a very good cleaning. We just moved here last year and I had to find a new dentist. I LOVED my previous dentist so I kept delaying my hunt for a new dentist, until I had pain and had to go. My friend has been going to this place and she recommended it to me, so I thought I would give them a try. I called, booked and made an appointment and WOOHOO! I now have a new favorite dentist! Oh and I know dentists are expensive but this place is very affordable, I knew I had some work that needed to be done but I was worried about the cost but the staff was very friendly, and helpful and she gave me a good discount too. Oh and I needed to have root canal for the pain, and I was sooo scared, because of all the stories I had heard about the pain and everything... so I talked to her and she was very helpful and I had NO pain! which was very good... ok this review is getting too long, and I have to go.. so I had a few more things that needed to be done after that, this was back in August and I've always had a good experience here, friendly, good at their job, and affordable!
